Why they changed the second one so dramatically from the first was such a tragedy... Everything about the first was so much better, including these cinematics. I absolutely love this game.

Yeah, it is something that makes me sick, a sequel where Faith and Kate run away from the government together on the streets, potentially opening up a Co-op parkour game, would be something so amazing, it would be a golden goose franchise like Halo was for Bungie

From what I read, they first planned a trilogy on Xbox 360/PS3 but the sales of the first game were not good enough. They rebooted the franchise with Mirror's Edge Catalyst and introduced a more open world kind of game with some RPG element. I feel you tho, I really like the first game and I was hyped for the second game :/

@@THEZOD it’s sad cuz rebooting was definitely the right decision imo. but they fell into the open world trap, like many other games of the time, which is what ruined it i think. they put a lot of effort into quantity rather than quality

Exactly what i am thinking! OG game was so serious and kinda sad. Damn reboot felt like a joke with childish Faith instead of OG badass one.

@@TayakoX Think that was the point of the game. The events of it would turn her into something more like what she was in the first game. Then, there was supposed to be a third. But EA kills all its good games

Considering this has much less story than the second game, I felt way more connected to it than Catalyst's. Faith's relationship with Merc felt way more natural than with Noah, and I was hit much harder by Merc's death, even though they didn't have many scenes together compared to her and Noah.

NOAH DOGEN and REBECCA are the reason I liked Catalyst way less and don't get me started on that skill tree BS...

The first games characters were so much cooler. Nomad and Birdman were cool, but I'd rather a small yet closer-knit cast of characters than the many we got in Catalyst. Miller and Merc were awesome especially.

In another timeline, they would have made a short 2d animated series based off of Mirror's Edge. Maybe something in the visual style of those Dark Horse comics (which I was shocked to find out even existed). It seems ours is just too creatively bankrupt at this point to afford such an endeavor.

@@huwguyver4208 Well, at least we still have our dreamscapes to explore. Any time I roll the city from the original game it just feels right at home, knowing it will be a good time.
