You definitely enjoyed this adventure. Thankfully, Mother Nature cooperated and the rain held off. Plus, no bears, coyotes, moose, foxes, or cougars! That scooter looked like a lot of fun too.
Hi Kenny, I'm just having a really bad day, physical health wise. And it's such a blessing to see your video popping up, and I know it will be a wonderful hour, not thinking about my horrible pain while laying in my bed. No, I'm thinking about your camping adventure. Yelling through the screen that you have to get back to that other campsite to collect the wood. (Luckily, you did😅) And looking around to see if there isn't a mama bear near your tent. I'm a coffee person, but I can't drink it anymore. My stomach is paralysed. And putting it through my feeding tube, well then I don't enjoy the taste. And I'm so weaned off now, after 2 "sips," I can't sleep, even when I "drink" it in the morning. So, no more coffee for me or other tasteful beverages. It is what it is. Thank God for IV fluids and tube feeding. 🙏🏻 The electric scooter looks amazing. Unfortunately, it's banned in the Netherlands. You can't drive with it on public roads, only in your own backyard. But they are amazing, I totally understand why you like it. A word of advice when cooking steak and potatoes. Cook the potatoes first and make sure they are done BEFORE starting the steaks. The potatoes will cool to about the right eating temperature by the time the steaks are done.
I love the smell of coffee but don't enjoy the taste. I'm a cup of tea in the morning gal for my pick me up. Another sweet set up Kenny. Thanks for the get away. Listen I was thinking....Oh no Right? No seriously. Have you ever thought about doing just a video of a compilation of your nature shots with music playing in the back ground? It would be a totally relaxing thing to watch. You always pick the best music for your background. Put a scripture now and then through it Like you do for us at the end of each of your videos. You are very gifted in getting some of the best nature landscapes and sounds around. I would enjoy something like that. Don't know if anyone else would. Just a thought to consider in the future. I know it would be very time consuming but on the weeks you are not able to film, it might be something periodically you could insert. Maybe a whole series, like Montana, Idaho, Mountains, Winter, Fall??? You get my drift. As always God Bless to your sweet family and keep the faith Brother.

I LOVED this video. The scenery was beautiful. Your camp was super nice. I liked your look in this video. You had your gun that made me happy to see because you never know what is moving around at night. You looked very relaxed. Your meal for supper looked yummy too. I love that you pray out loud. Your backpack looks super heavy. It's no wonder your back is hurting. When I go camping, I try to carry the minimal amount. Only the most essential items like food, water, extra batteries, tent, waterproof clothes, satellite phone for emergency.
Some advice: Potatoes like low and slow cooking, even if cut. Get your fire going a little earlier, let it build hot and fast, and then once a nice bed of coals develops and the fire dies down, push your fire over to one side and keep feeding it just a little bit of wood to keep it barely going, leaving a nice exposed bed of coals on the other side of your fire pit where the original fire was built. That ground is nice and warm and it's where you'll do your cooking. Place the potatoes, wrapped tightly in foil, right on the bed of coals and rotate your potatoes every few minutes, not just 180 degrees but also flipping them over. Do that for a good 45 minutes of cooking time for medium to large potatoes. Don't put any more wood in that cooking area, but do move some of the coals from your low fire over from time to time to keep that coal bed fed. You want coals, not flames, to cook potatoes. For prep: You can halve them and put in some butter and seasonings like salt and pepper, wrapping them tightly again in the foil, but I wouldn't add cheese and definitely not the bacon on the outside, which will burn. You're trying to cook the inside of the potato clean through, without charring the outside to a crisp as you do so. That's why you don't cook on flames, which are too hot, but coals, which are cooler and also represent a more reliable heat source. Don't peel potatoes before fire cooking them, too. You're going to want to use the skin of the potato as a protective barrier. Idaho potatoes are among the best for a fire because of their skins. Bacon on the outside sounds tasty but it will burn before the inside is cooked.
@@BaumOutdoors No problem. Love your videos and the wholesome and sincere content. I'm envious you get out there so often in a beautiful part of the country. Try wrapping your meat tightly in bacon, like a pork tenderloin or wrap bacon around a piece of beef/game meat that you can tie up into a cylinder-like shape, and cook that on a metal spit or just a long stick. You can position it above flames, just make sure that it's high enough so that it cooks but doesn't get too charred on the outside before your meat cooks through. Position the meat over the flames, not in them, or maybe just getting licked by the flames. All you have to do is feed your fire and rotate the spit/stick until it seems done. That's a great way to still get bacon with your meat and potatoes meal when cooking over a fire. The nice thing is that you can cut off pieces from the outer part of the meat cylinder and keep cooking the rest, if you get impatient/hungry!
As a home Chef, and for proven perfect baked potatoes, do this! Spuds are 80% water, foil-wrapping always 'traps' the moisture resulting in steaming and not baking ending up with a 'soggy' baked potato! Always bake potatoes unwrapped, and when done on coals, again NO wrapping but you can lay a small sheet of foil on the coals and then place the spud on the foil keeping it clean, turning frequently for about 45 minutes to an hour! When done, half it, add cheese to melt and for the bacon, either pre-fry them soft-chewy at home then add or pan-fry at camp! The result will be a PERFECT dry crispy-skin baked potato! At 71, camping for 60 years and cooking almost as long! Do it, and thank me later....lol
Absolutely GORGEOUS North Idaho!!! LOVELY. I just JOVE that e-scooter. If I lived out in the vast lands, I would definitely get one. I would love to have an e-bike if I were a camper. Bless you, Kenny!! Just a tiny bit of help on the potato. For future, when at home, precook the potato in a microwave until it is soft through with a knife. So when you go out to a camp fire, the potato part will be cooked already and the bacon and cheese will cook faster and the juices will permeate the potato better. BELSSINGS

This is brilliant! I don't have bad knees or a bad back but I HATE the walking part of backpacking. Usually truck camp and then just set up a luxury camp with portable toilet, tables, chairs, tarp, fridge, ecoflow for power, but this is another option.

Like number 931. One of your best videos. They say it's better to camp away from a river in bear territory. The river is loud and you cant hear what may be sneaking around your tent. I used to drink a whole pot of coffee a day, but after stomach cancer, moved over to 2 cups of black tea a day. You be you, doesn't matter what and how you enjoy the morning, be you.

Kenny a campfire baked potato takes 45 minutes in the hot coals , flipping once at the half way mark . A extra layer of aluminum foil should protect the bacon somewhat .

Wow....that was exciting. Man how I love Idaho....great people too. I have fished the Copper Basin area, and the Big Lost, Silvercreek, The Wood, The Little Wood. How I miss that country. I would always stand in awe at the Lord's creation....tearful at times, so beautiful. Man I would love to be there chucking a fly. At 76 I just snagged me an e-mtb and it is sitting in my living room completely loaded down with more than I should and waiting for some decent weather so I can head to the woods to camp and fish. Hey, I have a Segway GT1 and the deck is wide, but also very long, this would leave you more room to stack your gear vertically right behind the post on the deck. Then your feet would have plenty of room, behind. I like the GT1, it is built quite well.

So, someone who is big into scooters like myself, when I look at this, I'm admiring it, but I do have questions. So, the GoTrax, what is the weight limit on this? Is it 300 pounds? The reason why I ask this is because you have so much packed on, I highly recommend you take everything, get on a scale to see if you're above or a little under the weight limit. The reason why I also mention this, as you probably already know, your weight is also going to determine how much energy the scooter needs to get you back and forth. And one thing you don't want to do, especially in the sticks, is break your scooter because you had too much weight on you. But I think this is an awesome way to actually go out and camp. I'm thinking about getting myself an Apollo Phantom, just for the off-roading. Everyone's shocked at how far I go in the city, at least 15-16 miles from the suburbs to the city. I'm not going to go as far as I would like to go, and then back. So, definitely plan your trip and make sure you can get back and forth. Also, be very careful. I'm not sure if this is a dual motor you're on. Taking a look at the scooter, it looks like this is a dual motor. I see a trigger throttle instead of a thumb throttle, which means you have to be very careful with those. Those are known as death traps, and unfortunately, you're on the back roads. Now, if you posted this, you're most likely okay. Be very careful. Those are known to actually malfunction. GoTrax does have a good name to them, but be very careful. 7:50 So, your top speed of 38. Again, be very careful in gear 3, especially with the dual motor. Honestly, if your top speed is 38, you don't have as much to worry about. However, keep in mind, when you're in dirt, you have a lot of room to actually slip and slide.

love LOVE me some coffee... I have a coffee bar at home and I do drip, French press, Nespresso pods, and Espresso machine .... I grind all my coffee beans so I get to select the quality and intensity of my brews when I go outdoor I also use the coffee pouch, and my Italian stovetop Espresso Maker making sure I bring my manual grinder and my beans, of course !!!!

A word of advice when cooking steak and potatoes. Cook the potatoes first and make sure they are done BEFORE starting the steaks. The potatoes will cool to about the right eating temperature by the time the steaks are done.

No seriously. Have you ever thought about doing just a video of a compilation of your nature shots with music playing in the back ground? It would be a totally relaxing thing to watch. You always pick the best music for your background. Put a scripture now and then through it Like you do for us at the end of each of your videos. You are very gifted in getting some of the best nature landscapes and sounds around. I would enjoy something like that. Don't know if anyone else would. Just a thought to consider in the future. I know it would be very time consuming but on the weeks you are not able to film, it might be something periodically you could insert. Maybe a whole series, like Montana, Idaho, Mountains, Winter, Fall??? You get my drift. As always God Bless to your sweet family and keep the faith Brother.

You had your gun that made me happy to see because you never know what is moving around at night. You looked very relaxed. Your meal for supper looked yummy too. I love that you pray out loud. Your backpack looks super heavy. It's no wonder your back is hurting. When I go camping, I try to carry the minimal amount. Only the most essential items like food, water, extra batteries, tent, waterproof clothes, satellite phone for emergency.

Some advice: Potatoes like low and slow cooking, even if cut. Get your fire going a little earlier, let it build hot and fast, and then once a nice bed of coals develops and the fire dies down, push your fire over to one side and keep feeding it just a little bit of wood to keep it barely going, leaving a nice exposed bed of coals on the other side of your fire pit where the original fire was built. That ground is nice and warm and it's where you'll do your cooking. Place the potatoes, wrapped tightly in foil, right on the bed of coals and rotate your potatoes every few minutes, not just 180 degrees but also flipping them over. Do that for a good 45 minutes of cooking time for medium to large potatoes. Don't put any more wood in that cooking area, but do move some of the coals from your low fire over from time to time to keep that coal bed fed. You want coals, not flames, to cook potatoes. For prep: You can halve them and put in some butter and seasonings like salt and pepper, wrapping them tightly again in the foil, but I wouldn't add cheese and definitely not the bacon on the outside, which will burn. You're trying to cook the inside of the potato clean through, without charring the outside to a crisp as you do so. That's why you don't cook on flames, which are too hot, but coals, which are cooler and also represent a more reliable heat source. Don't peel potatoes before fire cooking them, too. You're going to want to use the skin of the potato as a protective barrier. Idaho potatoes are among the best for a fire because of their skins. Bacon on the outside sounds tasty but it will burn before the inside is cooked.

@@BaumOutdoors No problem. Love your videos and the wholesome and sincere content. I'm envious you get out there so often in a beautiful part of the country. Try wrapping your meat tightly in bacon, like a pork tenderloin or wrap bacon around a piece of beef/game meat that you can tie up into a cylinder-like shape, and cook that on a metal spit or just a long stick. You can position it above flames, just make sure that it's high enough so that it cooks but doesn't get too charred on the outside before your meat cooks through. Position the meat over the flames, not in them, or maybe just getting licked by the flames. All you have to do is feed your fire and rotate the spit/stick until it seems done. That's a great way to still get bacon with your meat and potatoes meal when cooking over a fire. The nice thing is that you can cut off pieces from the outer part of the meat cylinder and keep cooking the rest, if you get impatient/hungry!
As a home Chef, and for proven perfect baked potatoes, do this! Spuds are 80% water, foil-wrapping always 'traps' the moisture resulting in steaming and not baking ending up with a 'soggy' baked potato! Always bake potatoes unwrapped, and when done on coals, again NO wrapping but you can lay a small sheet of foil on the coals and then place the spud on the foil keeping it clean, turning frequently for about 45 minutes to an hour! When done, half it, add cheese to melt and for the bacon, either pre-fry them soft-chewy at home then add or pan-fry at camp! The result will be a PERFECT dry crispy-skin baked potato! At 71, camping for 60 years and cooking almost as long! Do it, and thank me later....lol
Absolutely GORGEOUS North Idaho!!! LOVELY. I just JOVE that e-scooter. If I lived out in the vast lands, I would definitely get one. I would love to have an e-bike if I were a camper. Bless you, Kenny!! Just a tiny bit of help on the potato. For future, when at home, precook the potato in a microwave until it is soft through with a knife. So when you go out to a camp fire, the potato part will be cooked already and the bacon and cheese will cook faster and the juices will permeate the potato better. BELSSINGS

This is brilliant! I don't have bad knees or a bad back but I HATE the walking part of backpacking. Usually truck camp and then just set up a luxury camp with portable toilet, tables, chairs, tarp, fridge, ecoflow for power, but this is another option.

Like number 931. One of your best videos. They say it's better to camp away from a river in bear territory. The river is loud and you cant hear what may be sneaking around your tent. I used to drink a whole pot of coffee a day, but after stomach cancer, moved over to 2 cups of black tea a day. You be you, doesn't matter what and how you enjoy the morning, be you.

Kenny a campfire baked potato takes 45 minutes in the hot coals , flipping once at the half way mark . A extra layer of aluminum foil should protect the bacon somewhat .

Wow....that was exciting. Man how I love Idaho....great people too. I have fished the Copper Basin area, and the Big Lost, Silvercreek, The Wood, The Little Wood. How I miss that country. I would always stand in awe at the Lord's creation....tearful at times, so beautiful. Man I would love to be there chucking a fly.
At 76 I just snagged me an e-mtb and it is sitting in my living room completely loaded down with more than I should and waiting for some decent weather so I can head to the woods to camp and fish. Love your adventures. That scooter is insane, two 1000 watt motors is crazy powerful.

Hey, I have a Segway GT1 and the deck is wide, but also very long, this would leave you more room to stack your gear vertically right behind the post on the deck. Then your feet would have plenty of room, behind. I like the GT1, it is built quite well.

So, someone who is big into scooters like myself, when I look at this, I'm admiring it, but I do have questions. So, the GoTrax, what is the weight limit on this? Is it 300 pounds? The reason why I ask this is because you have so much packed on, I highly recommend you take everything, get on a scale to see if you're above or a little under the weight limit.
The reason why I also mention this, as you probably already know, your weight is also going to determine how much energy the scooter needs to get you back and forth. And one thing you don't want to do, especially in the sticks, is break your scooter because you had too much weight on you.
But I think this is an awesome way to actually go out and camp. I'm thinking about getting myself an Apollo Phantom, just for the off-roading. Everyone's shocked at how far I go in the city, at least 15-16 miles from the suburbs to the city. I'm not going to go as far as I would like to go, and then back. So, definitely plan your trip and make sure you can get back and forth.
Also, be very careful. I'm not sure if this is a dual motor you're on. Taking a look at the scooter, it looks like this is a dual motor. I see a trigger throttle instead of a thumb throttle, which means you have to be very careful with those. Those are known as death traps, and unfortunately, you're on the back roads. Now, if you posted this, you're most likely okay. Be very careful. Those are known to actually malfunction. GoTrax does have a good name to them, but be very careful.

So, your top speed of 38. Again, be very careful in gear 3, especially with the dual motor. Honestly, if your top speed is 38, you don't have as much to worry about. However, keep in mind, when you're in dirt, you have a lot of room to actually slip and slide.

Hey another great “ Baum “video …thank you ..however..I’m not sure if I had mentioned this to you before..but you know what ..you really should look into one of those little battery powered hand held mini chainsaws..you seem to be really struggling to cut up enough wood for your fires..they could really be a asset to you and your camping videos..PLUS ..that would leave you more time for fishing,sightseeing or cooking another of your great meals ..😀😀❤️❤️

love LOVE me some coffee... I have a coffee bar at home and I do drip, French press, Nespresso pods, and Espresso machine .... I grind all my coffee beans so I get to select the quality and intensity of my brews when I go outdoor I also use the coffee pouch, and my Italian stovetop Espresso Maker making sure I bring my manual grinder and my beans, of course !!!!

And look at all those beautiful Christmas trees you were passing as you were riding to your camping destination. I loved the camera view behind you on e bike, that was cool! Tough little e-bike! you were booking down that road! A little bit of a challenge riding back to the campsite with the wood But, you did it! Good job! Very nice fire you had going. The Bears would have loved the steak you were making.😁 too bad your potato didn't get cooked threw. It's good that you still enjoyed it. I read that there's bugs in peanut butter.
