A few questions pls? How many grams of coffee beans do you use coz I love the look of your coffee... Also the tamper that comes with the machine is that any good? Lastly how’s the milk frothed? I’ve heard mixed reviews about it... thanks for the great video!
I have been considering buying this one Anita or Anna pl41e + Eureka Mignon grinder (It is similar price at the moment). What do you think about the Lelit Fred pl043 grinder of Anita? Does it provide a good grinding quality?
Hey, First of all, I can not stress enough how important is to buy good quality FRESH coffee (not older than 4 weeks!). I tried so many different coffees and in case of a bad coffee you can almost do whatever it doesn't matter it’s almost impossible to make a proper espresso with creme, wheres with good coffee it's really hard to mess it up. Also, normally I buy coffee roasted for espresso, specifically as all the fancy/fruity coffees are tend to be too acidic for espresso (they are perfect for pour over coffee IMO). Most of the time my grinder at 3 minus one dot. But it differs every time when you have a new coffee. I aim for 18 gramms of coffee for 36 gramms/ml (1:2 ratio) of coffee and extraction time between 25 and 30 sec :) ,hope it helps!
hey! great video, just bought one 42EM also after seeing your "naked shot"...beautifull!!! what grind number are you using here? just to have a reference. thanks !
Hey, how is the machine holding up for you? And what is the build quality and fit-and-finish like? I am deciding between a second hand PL042 and a Rancilio Silvia with a seperate grinder. Both options will be equally expensive Thanks for any help :)
@@MrBruceBCN thanks for your comment :) How would you rate the build quality of this machine? I got the idea from some people that the shell isn't always assembled quite straight (panel gaps not straight and cup warmer plate not aligned). And how do the switches feel? What coffee did you use? It looks delicious! I just bought this machine (with the PID) and I'm super excited to put my hands on it! How has it held after 1.5 years?
I think it was lavazza rossa, so nothing special. It still works fantastically, make sure you clean it regularly and it should be fine for years. Enjoy yours!
My husband bought this machine 3 weeks ago and I still cannot make a good coffee. I wonder if it is possible to make a good coffee with nice creme but not espresso only normal coffee like 200ml?
Hi, I suppose your husband would like to make Americano. I've made a few times with this machine for my friends who also prefer longer coffee. It's very easy, so make sure to pre heat the mug and poor 150 -160 ml of hot water (almost boiling hot, around 92 C) in the mug and then after you can finish it off with a double espresso (18 gramms coffee to make 36 ml coffee ) as you see it in my video. It is very important to poor the hot water into the mug first and the the espresso! If you use good quality, fresh coffee it should make a very good creme. One more thing, turn the machine on and wait at least 10 - 15 min before start using it. You probably have to try it a few times to get it right, it took me a few months to be able to make good coffee consistently, but once you master it it's very easy. Hope it helps :)
Suerte!

short addition to my questions. About taste and flavor. With nespresso capsule I find more flavor than taste. This is why I write taste...or may be i understand nothing.
Nice video! How is it holding up so far? I'm between this one and the Breville/Sage barista express. Would use it every day before going to work so I need to know it can be set up pretty fast for breakfast. Thanks!
Thanks, I've been using it for 4 years now (twice a day) all good and absolutely love this machine. I normally wait 20 min before making my coffee but occasionally don't have time, so I make my coffee after 10 min and TBH didn't notice that much of a difference. Yeah, I remember considering buying Breville/Sage machine before I bought this but I loved the simplicity of this machine and also one of my friends had a Breville and he had some issues after two years. I'm not saying this is the case with each of them but you never know...
@@soldyx Yeah barista seem to have a lot of issues ( breaking down at the 1 or 2 year mark ) not heard that on the lelit though. Is yours still going strong?
The simpler it is, the less it breaks down. And making your own coffee is still a satisfying little ritual. On the other hand, if you are a man in a hurry this is not the right machine.
Thanks for video. May be I will bue true espresso machine and lelit is advise of one russian youtube author... Please answer some technological questions. 1. using bottomless portafilter. what is the main reason to use it.. for you? ....Just my comment..I remove deblocking the door of esam to take coffee just from ..."coffemaker unit" but the distance to the coffee is still long... 2. 18 g is too much for me. What amount of coffee is optimal for small basket? 3. For every run you put new portion of coffee beans into the grinder. Is it for video or it is your wish? My feeling it may decrease the grinder life. 4. Via veneta saeco produce a lot crema. but taste...Is there correlation between crema and taste of espresso when using lelit anita? thank you in advance...
1. "naked" portafilter provide you feedback about quality of grinding and tampering, it also looks great while coffee is dropping... 2. For single italian espresso 7g +/- 0,5g is needed 3. On the video you can see all-in-one coffee machine (with grinder). Coffee machine became very hot while working. High temperature are not good for coffee beans. Puting beans just before grinding helps to preserved flavor of coffee beans.
It's been a year and a half since I bought, works amazingly, takes a bit of time to get to know the machine. But once you do so you can easily make a very good espresso, I'd say 95% of the time better espresso than in any coffee shops.

That smile at the end. Pure joy.
It looks too quickly. What is your ratio (coffee/liquid)?
WOW - I thought porn wasn't allowed on TH-cam!
Water is "peeing" around the coffee while extracting at the end from your bottomless portafilter very well visible at 1:24 , why?
My tamping wasn't perfect so the water peeing is due to channelling caused by the bad tamping :)
@@soldyx quick tip, just try one firm level push, no bangs no twists :)
