I have six kids. I’m doing “all the same but different”. I got them all sweatshirts, but with their favorite animal on them. I got them board games connected with their interests. The best thing was when they were little and we sneaked into their room while they slept and hung a fairy tent over a children’s table and chairs. I had wings waiting for them when they woke up. They were so surprised and happy. Favorite Winter destination? Anyplace warm.
Had a blanket made with my father’s side family history. One side a photo journey of when the first ancestor came to America and on the other side, explaining the ancestors and dates/information. I gave the blanket to my niece who was pregnant with her first child, so creating a new generation!❤
My girls are adults. So I give the gift that is never returned or exchanged cash. It is enough to give them and S/O a weekend getaway or if they need something for their homes. For something to unwrap, the girls get a piece of jewelry. This year is earrings. The boys are getting a gaming thing they each want. Just an FYI, I loved my Kitchenaid standing mixer. It is close to 30 years old and still running strong. You will notice it is in past tense because my younger daughter on one of her home visits helped herself to it plus the assesories since as she said there are only you and you don't use it like you did when everyone was home. Brat!!! I didn't have the heart to ask for it back when her husband raved about the homemade pasta and all his favorite cookies. I wish you a very happy and blessed holiday season. 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
HAHA well you need to have her make you some of that homemade pasta and cookies! But yes they last such a long time and I love that you can get all the different attachments and make it more than just a stand mixer.
Ideal winter travel destination is anywhere in the mountains to stay in a cabin, snuggled up in front of a warm fire. Add to that a good book to read and a cup of hot cocoa and it is the perfect setting for me. I appreciate all of your great gift ideas!
Oh my! I saw a lot of things I want for myself lol My favorite gift to give is a LLBean monogrammed throw blanket. So far, everyone loves them. It comes in many colors. Great video. 😀
I like to do themed items, my mom got all gingerbread stuff. Her box has slippers, pjs, throw pillows, blankets, a sweat shirt and tee shirt. Gingerbread stuff is her thing.
Winter travel.. I'd love to go to New York to see all the holiday lights or Europe for the Christmas markets and festivals. Those are bucket list destinations!!! A cozy blanket and warm candle is 2 of my favorite items to gift.
I am giving all of my family large canvases of a photo from a wedding this year. We were all together for the first time in over five years, and it was very special. I also am gifting the newlywed couple a canvas as well... my favorite place to travel for the holidays is somewhere nice and warm like Cabo San Lucas I take a carnival cruise and then get to spend the day taking the boat out to the arch rocks and then going to lovers beach and enjoying the sun !
The best gift I ever received was From my oldest daughter at my 40th birthday .....a little glass jar full of memories from my family members written on tiny little pieces of paper. As I read each one I we talked about the memory and later I wrote about it on the back of the note and anytime I am feeling sad or blue and missing my family....I just pull out the jar and read the notes. This next year is my 60th birthday. I plan on bringing my jar and having everyone add some new memories to it. I will treasure that jar always❤ Especially now that my oldest daughter & my mother have both ..😢passed❤
As my nephews are older, I give them money. But I also give them a little customized gift from Etsy. They are both in the band and play soccer. So one year they got name tags shaped as a soccer ball and one year a name tag with their band instruments. And always make sure they are in their favorite colors.
I'm a huge list follower, I prefer when I get a list from everyone so I know that I'm getting them what they want. My daughter really wants a Dr. Pepper Sweatshirt.
Winter in New York with my husband would be amazing. I did it once for work and it was beautiful. The best gift idea… nothing stands out but I was just looking at pampered chef and I forgot they have some good gifting sets.
I’m making little EDC kits for my kids- one works at a camp and the other for the Forest Service so it would be nice for something they can grab and go. For best gift I’ve given- a strand of pearls for my mother after I finished my graduate degree because she was graduating by me flying the nest.
My best gift was a baby picture of my dad , made larger and put into a large vintage frame. I’d love to be in Hawaii for Christmas time and the winter! No cold weather for me!!
That's awesome! I just came back from Hawaii and it's so weird because it does not feel like December there at all...everything is decorated for Christmas but it's 80 degrees out lol
Christmas is overrated in my books - yes, i do shop for Christmas and exhange gifts, but i can guarantee you i do not go in debt for Christmas, i only give what's in my means to do so, after all it's the thought that counts. Fav winter getaway for me is somewhere secluded and quiet with a nice hot tub and fireplace. Thx for all your great gift ideas, and I myself have a kitchen aid mixer which as you said is extremely heavy and i barely ever use it but it's good to know it's there if i ever do - it was a gift to me, prob. one of my fav. gifts ever.
I agree with you, stay within your means for gifting. There is zero reason to go into debt just for Christmas. That's why I try to include different price levels, there is always a cheaper alternative.
I am giving everyone coffee and or hot chocolate bars this year. This will include a set of matching jammies, slippers and personalized blanket for each family member.
My two daughters are getting the robo vacuum as they both have dogs and they are from Amazon not the Robo brand I paid $135 can. And my older daughter was going to buy it for herself so I gave hers early and she has a Dyson and she said this robo vacuum is awesome!! It also washed the floors and she’s had it about 6 weeks and loves it! And I also got her a galaxy pixal watch and the other daughter is getting the iPhone printer it looks awesome!! And my husband is getting a sock full of off lululemon underwear and socks and his good shampoo and body wash and I got him a milwalkie tool his been wanting! My grandkids are a bit older and want clothes a purse and a switch gaming system! And my nephew and godson are getting this elf game that you mix a jelly up and pour in the mold and then into cold water and make these little jelly animals so stinking cute but $50 a set. And my son in law and brother in law is left for my husband to buy a gift for and my sweeet sister-in-law is getting a self care basket I made up for her and also filled with special makeup! Cheers and love from Canada 🇨🇦
Awesome! I have a robo vac and love that thing too lol. Looks like you've got everyone covered. I have barely started my shopping; I'm so behind this year!
I love your sweatshirt. I know where you bought it since I own the same one. 😂😂😂😂😂
LOL twins!

Your ideas were different which is good. Most people are trying to find unique things that people don't already own.

That is an amazing gift and something you can have the family add to for years!

Winter in New York with my husband would be amazing. I did it once for work and it was beautiful. The best gift idea… nothing stands out but I was just looking at pampered chef and I forgot they have some good gifting sets.
I'm sure winter in NY is gorgeous! I still have these small metal serving spatulas with a black handle from Pampered Chef that are my favorite!

The Caribbean.
The Caribbean is always a good time!
Both my kitchen aids ive had since the 90’s
They really last and are worth the price!
I'm probably giving gift cards or care packages this year.
Gift cards are always a crowd pleaser, then people can go get what they really want and will use.
