Is it expensive when you eat out of the resorts or to buy souvenirs
I would say prices are average. There are very expensive restaurants and a few affordable options as well. We ate at Luca and the food was delicious but very expensive. Peppers was more affordable and fun.
Also, it is worth getting out of the resort for snacks and non alcoholic beverages. There was a small convenience store across the street and a large supermarket nearby. It was 2 or 3 times cheaper than the store at the resort. You can find affordable souvenirs in town. Check for days cruise arrives to Georgetown. Most stores are closed on days that there are no cruises but it’s nice and quiet.
Forgot to ask. Are the meals free or do you have to pay? If pay average cost per plate that you noticed?
Meals are not free. I don’t think Cayman Islands have any all inclusive resort. Meals were pretty expensive at the resort, lunch $14-$20, dinner cost more. The island have many cheaper restaurants and grocery stores. I recommend getting snacks and beverages at the grocery store or supermarket across the street from the resort. It’s much more affordable especially if you travel with kids.
