First broadcast in 1997, this three part chilling documentary examined allegations made by a man named as Edward, that videos have been made in Amsterdam in which young boys are sexually abused, tortured and killed. Based on original research by Nick Davies and Melanie McFadeyan, the film confronts the men who trade in illegal videos, investigates the recruitment of young boys, and talks to the victims and relatives.
Edward moved from Birmingham to Amsterdam in the late 1980s and had met a number of different pedophiles while in Amsterdam, including convicted pedophile Warwick Spinks, who was one of a number of British men involved in making and distributing illegal tapes. Spinks used to work in a brothel called "The Gay Palace" in Amsterdam where he was effectively acting as a pimp.
This film disclosed the activities of Warwick Spinks, Harry Jeffries, Peter Howells and others. The sexual abuse of children is a special crime, not simply because of the damage it does to its victims, nor even because of the anger and fear it provokes in communities, but more particularly because it is so easy-easy to commit, easy to get away with. THIS HAS TO STOP.

Most pedophiles who abuse children were also abused as children. Not everyone is the same and I feel very sorry for those born with it. They have a very difficult and frustrated life without being able to end it. Most of them have to live with it their whole life because they are ashamed to ask for help. It's like you've never had satisfying sex in your life. And as we know, sex is human nature and it must be very frustrating. I appreciate every such person who fights with it and does not allow himself to succumb to his feelings.

The reporter interviewing him is part of the problem, his patronising incredulity is an example of the kinds of attitudes which are so pervasive throughout the Judiciary, the Police, and others who don't want to have their sensibilities offended for fear of the dirty association, it's as if they think that by acknowledging the existence of these crimes, that it will besmirch their standing among those who they want to impress their good character on.

One person in this documentary said that if you ask people what child porn is like they will come up with something their minds can handle. I had the feeling that officer just couldn't handle the possibility. He was like, "thankfully we've never seen such a film." And I was looking for my brother I think and knocked on the wrong door and an older man opened the door and I saw a young man around my age who was in his underwear and now looking back I often wonder if he's ok. I remember being scared for him. And I didn't do or say anything about it.

Well that brought a lot back mind. I lived in Holland when I was 5/6 and the neighbor's got on at my parents for letting me and my sister play outside as children were stolen on a daily basis. I was almost sold in Paris as well at age 9 as the babysitter and her boyfriend tried to buy me off my dancing teacher.
