Wow I absolutely love all the history…Very informative! I wonder if the U2 song “Bloody Sunday” is referring to those events? Quebec City is also a walled city. Fire alarm every 6 months, you all definitely have the luck of the Irish ☘️ Nice video all!
It actually is! I pulled this from Google. "Sunday Bloody Sunday" by U2 is a song about the 1972 Bloody Sunday incident in Derry, Northern Ireland, when British soldiers shot and killed unarmed civil rights protesters" We did have the luck of the Irish while there, lol. Our first day driving, we had gale force winds and rains. It was like a tropical storm. We loved our visit, though!
I knew nothing about the history of this area! How interesting! And we may start watching that show on Netflix. We’re in need of a good show and it sounds funny and interesting! Great video! ~ Nat
@OffOurCouch it was cute! The ending was good, too! The kids would have been my generation growing up. The town has some interesting history and a civil rights moment of its own. The people are very friendly! We enjoyed it a lot!
It depended on if you were Irish or English. It also helped someone who lived in the city to determine who they were talking to, which could be dangerous back then. Most of the locals call it Derry now. Google, though, has both names.
@spiritdaysarah Mike wrote Google and got permission to use their maps in our videos. You have to follow their rules. It makes the videos look better. The name does kind of sound like the town from IT lol.
@@FloridaandBeyond I really appreciate you sharing all the work and research it took to include that video. There's so much work that goes into creating content. I value you and Mike for taking this extra step. 👏

This town has so much old town charm. It is actually wonderful. Super nice. LIKE 13. 👍👍👍
It was an interesting place! It was nice to see the less touristy area of Northern Ireland. We had a lot of fun! 🙂
Another great travel vlog in Ireland.
Thank you!
Awesome video! There was a LOT of history in Londonderry-Derry, Northern Ireland. Either way, still a cool place to visit!
Thank you! We had fun exploring all the history! 🙂

Florida and Beyond wonderfully exquisitely superb spectacularly splendorously sensational
Thank you!
I think its so interesting you can call it Derry vs Londonderry

@@FloridaandBeyond I would probably also call it "Derry", this is also reminds me of the name of the town in "IT" movies
I also really love the editing you did when you open with a global view and zooming into the town. Good job!

Where?
Londonderry or Derry Northern Ireland, depending on if you are UK or Irish. The town has 2 names.
