    Thank you very much! Earlier I created a separate file with favorites gradient fill (on rectangles) and copy\paste styles. Now I can do everything quickly and normally using swatches. It turned out to be so simple, but I couldn't guess.

    You can also add the active color (fill color) by clicking the button with the 3 little squares and a plus next to the pallete name

      True, I forgot to put that into the Video. Also it's a bit strange, because it seems to only work for colors, but not gradients

      @@OlivioSarikas I hadn't even thought about adding gradients to the palette before I saw your video

    Just learning how to do a bit of picture editing for the animal rescue volunteering I do and this video helped so much since I really had no clue what I was doing. This video is so easy to follow - just that part from "make SWATCH" visible - my STUDIO is under WINDOWS and not VIEW. 😹😹Took a while... I just don't dare now to close Affinity coz I must have miss the part "how to SAVE" and is this color palette now "saved" just by being created? And how to delete a color? And how I select colors from it again? But hey, I came this far! thank you so very much!!!!!!!!!!! Maybe we find plenty fosters now with fun pics 😻

    It was very helpful! 😜 I kept gradients through styles. But it turns out they can be saved in the palette, like colors, as in Illustrator. Cool. Many thanks. ❤👍

    Very effective tutorial, as usual.
    I like so much the image of the book in the field; is there any tutorial how to create it? Thanks so much.

    Great video as usual. What I would like to know if there is a way to check color with a Color Checker Passport or like item in Affinity.

  • @marsmotion
    @marsmotion 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    this may seem to elementary but you can also just click the button to the right of the name of the swatches and save current fill color which will pick up whatever is the active color you have. this works on pixel layers too.

    • @OlivioSarikas
      @OlivioSarikas  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      yes, you can do that too. But that only works for color, not for gradients and a I wanted to show people a way that works the same for both, to reduce complexity

    How do you add swatches and gradients on ipad version

    Can we use a color picker to grab colours from the image, and Affinity automatically adds them to the gradient? Or do I have to create swatches first? Cheers

  • @jer3006
    @jer3006 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Olivio, great, thank you very much. So when you create all your wonderful Mythical gradient swatches, you have to Rt-click on each one separately to place it in the named swatches palette? You may not be charging enough! 😁

    • @OlivioSarikas
      @OlivioSarikas  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      yes, but since it is a process to develop each one into a nice gradient it takes some time inbetween ;)

      I7 8700 with a Nvidia GTX 1660 and 16 GB RAM on a 500GB SSD :) - that said, i also do video cutting and video games, so you might be ok with a less powerful setup - and my gear is already a couple of years old. still good though

      You can look at lensfun if they have the profiles for your lenses. But i don't know how to create a accurate lens profile
