“Not Once Did I Take Freebies!” Ex-Labour MP Attacks Starmer Over £20,000 Accommodation Donation

  • Sir Keir Starmer has suggested he accepted £20,000 in donations for accommodation because his son needed somewhere to revise for his GCSEs while his family home was besieged by journalists during the election campaign.
The Prime Minister defended his decision to take gifts from Labour peer Lord Alli amid criticism of the arrangement, saying he was “not going to apologise for not doing anything wrong” and the freebies did not “cost the taxpayer a penny”.
Talk’s Jeremy Kyle is joined by leader of the Trade Unionist and Socialist Coalition and former Labour MP, Dave Nellist.

I mean blaming the tories for a black hole then give the equivalent of 11B to unions is the worst political optics and decision making I’ve ever seen. Caving to the unions is one thing but in order to address the black hole you punish pensioners for no reason and say the economy might crash. So when New Labour introduced it nothing was said but now it can kill the economy or kill the pound. Who is advising these morons?

Train drivers are well paid….how much do you earn Mr K ? You and others in the media, the BBC is a good example earn vast sums of money not commensurate with the simple jobs they do. You bet I’d give the nurses a huge pay rise. You tax the rich…it’s flipping easy, the rich may well include Mr K himself but I bet you won’t tell us the figure

When Dave Nellist persuaded young people in Coventry, not to pay their poll tax,( which he paid on his London property)those same young people were denied a mortgage because they had ruined their credit rating. I know because I was there.

Everyone should do all they can come the May Local Elections to vote every single Labour Councillor out of power. As long as we all vote for anyone other than Labour, that will see thousands of Labour Councillors out of power...let's all do it !!
I await Starmer's police knocking on my door to threaten me for these comments.

First time I've agreed with Dave, but he is principled and does as he says rather than telling people to "Do as I say not as I do" like TEN Tier Kier. Politics needs more like him to raise the quality of the debate, and shame those with their noses in the troughs.

£81k a year for all bus drivers please. Far more responsible and difficult a job, and they get what £30k tops? £81k for a train driver is ****ing ludicrous.

This abolishmentment of the 25% council tax allowance is scarier than this, it won't be worth working. Single people are by percentage are already paying more than a married couple now.

I remember when Harold Wilson had a landslide victory - big hopes for the future but we had a disaster. Then Tony B Liar swept in - a new start, soon to turn into a bigger disaster. Now we have Stazi Starmer, the difference now is that nobody had big hopes, but a bigger disaster.. Labour hasn't changed in sixty years.

It’s not 1.3 billion. It’s 1.3 billion less the amount that goes back to the government in stealth taxes eg 5% VAT, 30% subsidy for net zero green energy companies.

This guy needs to rise up to get Starmer kicked out of Labour. Starmer and Ali should be in Prison for BRIBERY AND CORRUPTION. That's why MUSLIMS get a free-ride from 2 Tier Policing.
Bring back real Labour and give the Pensioners their £300 back.

    Is this the Time?
Aim of Man- for Total freedom or and imposition of rules to achieve in individuals perfection (peace)
Which cannot be achieved by Man ( Noah), it can only be imposed - Removing Free choice and Love. ( Being Robotic Noah)
Hence the Understanding " The Word of God is Sharper than a two edged Sword" and "; With out Faith it's impossible to please God"
Jesus The Son of God, God has given Us, " Freedom", Peace " and " Love " equally - ,All the necessary elements of Perfection of which individuals are unable to obtain had it not been without this intervention, God allowed, to bring Us back to Him.

Dave was a proper Labour MP - believe he donated some of his MP salary to local Coventry charities. Very left wing and don’t agree on a lot of his views but must admire his principles. Decent man not a middle class champagne socialist

Agree with Dave. I'm not a socialist but once wrote a letter to the Coventry evening telegraph in support of him on something. He's always been a man of principle. I have always said an mp should do the job almost voluntarily.

Until this Government I have never thought of any other front bench or Prime Minister as being totally "incompetent". I've lived under various Governments, very aware they promise so much in their Manifestos, but our lives never change dramatically, but this Government actually frightens me. Anyone else of the opinion that it seems every day a prominant member of the Labour Party is having a "let them eat cake" moment. They seem totally oblivious to the void already widening between those of us living in the real world, and their world behind the imaginary walls surrounding London along with those to whom they have sold their souls to, the affluent elite left wing.

It was for my son to revise in peace and quiet for his GCSEs.What a load of codswallop.I hope an adult is with him as the poor boy is only 15-16 and shouldn’t be on his own.
Neither should a child, because that’s what he is,be dragged into a political firestorm caused by his father in order to protect himself from knowing he is doing the wrong thing.
What next? Hey son,can you cover for me and tell everybody that the clothes and glasses were for you? I wouldn’t put it past him.

Clearly Starmer's view that it's OK to do this for his son because he's not taken any taxpayer's money misses the point that he's imposed 20% VAT on independent school fees, forcing some children out of an environment in which they were happy and doing well.because actually, their parents aren't at the 'wealthy' end of the scale. If they were, they wouldn't have to do this to the children they love just as much as Starmer loves his kids.
