I literally received my Moonman C1 yesterday. The only logical, rational explanation is that I have a psychic connection to Peter. I actually really like the C1 and recommend it highly, though I do wish it had a clip. The grip section of mine is a mix of red and blue (I think the same as the one shown in the video, though there is another color variation) so I filled mine with Organics Studio "Nitrogen" ink, which is a deep blue with a red sheen which I thought was perfect choice. It's a finicky ink, but so far so good!
I aspire to be a comic book artist and as I was searching for vids I found your channel and your unique personality, as well as your skill, drew me in. Long story short I am religiously watching all your vids, which are very motivating and soothing.
I had to restrain myself from ordering a Moonman during this video. I’ve been eying a pretty little pocket version! Love watching drawings ooze out of those pens.

I appreciate all the channels i have watched since day one and are so genuinely entertaining that i still watch years later. And never regret coming back every time.
Hi Peter! My name is Rob and I am a big long time fan of yours.. Your art is quite unique to you and it's very good and quite interesting to look at for sure.. but the reason im writing this is to tell you that the little ball inside the fountain pen cartridge converter is to keep the ink flowing. The ball sort of breaks up any air pockets and surface tension that can hold your ink towards the top of the converter. They don't take up much space in there and you really don't lose any ink volume.. So they put them in some converters for that reason.. The mystery is solved! Thanks for the videos and please keep em' coming.. I can answer most fountain pen questions for you and also if you have any questions about inks and nibs as well.. It's been my hobby for many years now.. I'm currently watching your Moonman C1 review.. I like hearing your take on fountain pens.. I get a kick out of listening to you describe the pens.. It's nice to see the younger generation interested in things that I would assume most people of that generation would not be so curious about.. Keep up the good work Peter!
Yeah Peter I'm a musician, guitar is my specialty. I can't draw very well AT ALL. I mean I'm horrible. But like you said near the end, I just like listening to you talk over video of your drawings. 99% of the things you say about the visual arts can also be said for music too. You're just a lovable guy with very little ego compared to most TH-camrs. Cheers Peter. Don't stop doing what you love doing, it gives other artist like myself (with a tad too much cynicism) something to lean on.
Hey peter, to pick up more with the dropper, squeeze it to pull in the first bit then squeeze it out while keeping the dropper in the ink until you see air leave. Usually takes 2 or 3 squeezes to get the max but itll be more than one squeeze worth.
Unreal! I just discovered this pen on amazon yesterday and I thought that you would probably enjoy it. I almost ordered it to send to you for review, but it seems you were ahead of me on that one.
I remember a TH-cam before make up channels and video game commentary and patreon and it was all people like Peter just making things because they could. Goddammit, I love it so much.
Peter you're such a joy... Every one of your videos makes me want to be myself more than anything else I consume on the Internet. I'm so grateful for your existence and your ability to make me entertained 😊 keep it up ❤️
Your channel popped up in my feed today. I have now spent my entire morning and lunch watching videos I never imagined I would care about. My wife enjoys drawing. One of your glass pen videos inspired me to grab her a glass dip pen, some ink, and a new sketch pad for Christmas. I bought them for her, but I think secretly I wanted them...
Ahh, Emerald of Chivor, another of my favorite inks. With the added shimmery stuff and how you have pens sit unused for a long time, expect to have to clean the feed on this pen. :/ it's to be expected with any shimmer type inks. Chivor is completely gorgeous due to the the combo of shimmer and its sheen. Most inks are either one or the other. Oh, inorder to see the inks' full glory, you will need to start using the appropriate papers. Rhodia, Clairfontaine, Tomoe River, Leuchttrum19, etc. I highly recommend playing with this ink on paper that's made to let it truly show itself on...it wouldn't dry quickly, just a reminder. Gahhh! No shaking the ink from within the pen or shaking bottles..bubbles can cause it to clog. You may gently tilt to move ink from side to side. And yeah, easy on any nibs, they can damage easy.
Peter, it makes me so happy when I see you post a video. I enjoy your videos so much and I'm glad I found your channel because it fills me with joy. Thank you.
School comes first my friend. We all get that. You're the greatest. As long as you're out there putting your awesomeness on display we'll be there to hang with you.
Hey Peter, the glass ball in you ink cartridge is typically used to break surface tension more easily so you have less spotty writing as the ink is draining out while writing.
I bought this pen on almost a whim a week ago. I’m so glad I did. It’s a solid, splendid looking pen. I don’t have a single bad thing to say about the C1. The aesthetics and performance of the pen are just WOW!!! I have it filled with the stunning Diamine Blood Orange ink, and the F nib is a miraculously wet, smooth writer that looks like a borderline Medium rather than a Chinese default Fine. I like the C1 even more than I do the C2 and M2 by Moonman. It’s a worthy companion and sibling to my beloved clear demonstrator Opus 88.
My kids call the M2 pens my blood vile pens. So I am sure to fill them with appropriately colored ink. You can get weird looks at the coffee shop that way. Also good - to fill Jinhao shark pens with red food coloring for ink. Seems appropriate, some how. I enjoy my C1 pen, but I wish the grip section came in different colors.
In most prefilled ink cartridges you find this little ball. It serves as seal for the cartridge until you put it into the fountain pen. Afterwards it serves as some kind of valve to control the ink flow towards the tip of the pen.
Thank you Peter! Made me 😊... I got the Moonman S5 , comes with three nibs and just the dropper... in a tin case.... and I love it. Nice and affordable.
