    i was introduced to this piece as a child via a BBC series which was called 'railway children' . You can imagine what impact it made.

    A lovely uninterrupted flow to this suite, warmly performed by the excellent partnership that was Groves and the RLPO. I probably prefer this orchestral arrangement to the original version for brass band.

    Why is the record cover photo reversed left to right?
    I don't think the effect is very artistic!
    As for the music, I love Elgar's own contemporary recording with the LSO done in about 1931 I think.
