One thing I'm sure, Hoshi confirmed in the MV behind, that they're in the Neverland. I guess carats' peter pan theories were correct.
I also think this song and mv goes something about the pain of growing, which some of us fears, wonwoo was also reading in there titled 'growing pains'. In which is a key element on the story of Peter Pan. At the first half, they're in a bright atmosphere only experiencing happiness, but then when they discovered they don't have shadows that's when it started to go bad. U can also notice during the 'happy' parts the clock is stopped. But once they all discovered that they don't have shadows (hence their fears), the time moved again. U can see the changes starting with scoups & woozi having shadows. Vernon was the first one to discover their situation, u can see on the first part where he's lying, the bird has a shadow but when he tried to stretch his hands to shade his face he didn't had any shadow, u may also see the ground eating up the broken road where he is lying, before the 'darling' title came out.
jun also discovered the painting on the wall, carats' think that it might be the albums that will be released by svt this year. the middle & dark one would be for the May full album comeback, hoshi also mentioned in an interview that the cb would be hot & passionate so... darkteen it is😆
lastly for wonwoo, one of the theory that makes sense to me as I read carats' post on twt, he is already aware abt what is gonna happen, if you can remember past svt mvs (oh my, getting closer, fear etc) wonwoo was always the one who's like seeing something or controlling something (idk😅) . They said there's always something in his eyes, if u may take a closer look you'll see wonwoo is wearing a broken glasses, but he didn't wear it right when he was hesitant to enter the chapel with the boys (i also saw a carat said, that maybe, he was hesitant, because he already new that something bad will happen)

just to add regarding wonwoo's broken eyeglass, his eyeglass has a band aide which symbolizes innocence and youth so his line "don't wanna say goodbye" makes sense that he don't want to let go of that happy, fun, innocent boyhood but we all witnessed that they all fall into the real world at the end. I hope I make sense about this.

Carats theories that darling was peterpan-inspired like they are peterpan and carats are wendy, all these teddy bear from the lost boys in peterpan and the fairy dust, also wendy's surname is darling 😭 i think its like the svt knows that someday carats will all grow up just like wendy who had her own family 🥺💖

What they were freaking out about is that if you look close the flower's shadow is shown, but shua's hand's shadow can't be seen. also i saw on twitter that it is a peter pan concept.

Omg! I just realized that wonwoo is portraying John. Wendy's brother, the one with the glasses. That's why he is aware of what's going to happen even if he "don't want to say goodbye" to the happiness of youth that they're experiencing in Neverland.

I’m so glad you guys picked up all the little things that took me a couple watches to get, and then some! Definitely Peter Pan vibes with the no shadows and time stopping (the clocks). Then adulthood hit like a ton of bricks. But I’m not smart enough either 🤣🤣. I just know we’re getting a dark concept and if it’s ANYTHING like Fear, I will levitate 😭

I think it's like Neverland. They escape reality (growing pain) and likely forget that they are in a dream or an imaginary world.
*First of all*
-The first scene where Vernon raised his hand above his face, there was no hand shadow. and the ground below collapsed He was therefore the first to know that this was not the real world.
-The next scene has a clock that has been stopped by a pin. (They might be do it) like they don't want to grow
-Wonwoo has cracks in his glasses???
- Notice some scenes, everyone is shadowless
-The next scene is the scene where everyone plays happily. *In real life of the members before their debut. They were playing paint in the green room(practice room)*
- having fun until Vernon ran in. Vernon tells about the shadows and the world they live in. He threw flowers to Joshua. Joshua experiments by thrusting the flower into the light. The flower has a shadow, but Vernon pulls his hand slightly. So everyone saw that Joshua had no shadow.
-In the shadow it says "belief real remember"
-Hoshi drops a vase with daisies falling. The vase was shattered. *Daisy means innocence* Maybe it meant his innocence that he had no more (began to grow) and he also picked up a shard of glass. causing his finger to be cut to the point of bleeding. (Know the pain)
- Jun removed the wall until he found a wall painting depicting the moments in this MV. There are happy moments and knowing the truth discover a church that will take you to the real world. until the world of imagination collapses But… the next picture is not in the MV.

-Jun looked at the sun(wall painting) and found a box in a tub of water full of clocks (They might be do it ? as if trying to stop time). The box had the same sun sign on the wall. Could it be the key to another world? Or it tell the truth?
- In the next scene, everyone starts searching for the truth. until I came across a church that looks like a wall painting They opened the door and walked in. Butttttt! Wonwoo stopped and said “don't wanna say goodbye” (he doesn't want to leave here. Perhaps Wonwoo was someone who first known about the other world. and don't want to go back)
-Everyone plays the game. There are people who close their eyes and have to catch others. but next scene,when open eyes. Something has changed and there is no one.
-Seungkwan walks in a hall. with the audience being a teddy bear (Referring to childhood?) He’s start singing but he’s look again. That the hall looked gloomy.
- S.coup opens his eyes to saw reality. and his shadow returned
-Woozi wipes the paint on his face (knows the truth and chooses to leave his childhood memories behind) and wipes the mirror, his shadow return.
-The smiley face on the wall translates to tears? Jeonghan saw a smiling face on the mirror that seemed to have been obscured (They might be do it? to avoid the perception of another world). He brushed off the dust and saw himself in another world. that looks different from him
-The8 seems to have reached another world connection door.
-Jun saw the other him through the glass that separated them. They touched their hands and the glass shattered.
-The pin that stopped time fell off (Growth has begun)
-Everyone entered the church. Everyone saw their shadow and Their bodies looked fuzzy. (Saw the truth)
-Joshua looks at Joshua in another world that upside down.
- Vernon stood holding a light in his hand. To cast a shadow that makes everyone see the shadow (the truth) and said “kiss me baby” (like Snow White that must be kissed in order to wake up from the poison) as if saying that he had woken up from a dream
- Everyone's bodies started to crumble. The imaginary world collapsed.
-There is a scene of a solar eclipse in Wonwoo's eyes. But when the world collapses It was gone
- everyone returned to the real world where everything had collapsed. They have traces of wounds. and a confused face

Hoshi dropped the glass because they realized Joshua (none of them) have a shadow and they realize they were in a fantasy. Once they realize, the pin that was stopping the clock from ticking breaks, and time resumes and they have to face the reality that they cant live in Neverland forever. Then they fall down into Dreamcatcher land and both groups have to fight each other Hunger Games style.

Seventeen is not known for having lore, but there are theories about hidden lore in their discography and Wonwoo is usually the rage destructive personality and they try to "compress"(?) him(Fallin Flower, Heaven and now Darling) But that's as far as I know lmao
But if we don’t focus too much on wonwoo, there are also other members who fits this narrative in their MVs. I think they had a lore during 2017-early 2019 but they ended it, that one has more Alice in Wonderland in it with a bits of Peterpan, i saw from kcarats tweets that the person who helped build the worldview left Pledis in 2019 since we never saw any hints of continuation of it in their teasers, films & MVs since Home era.

How I explain this MV to people: "Look....so it looks like such a bright MV...but there's something wrong.... Okay pause...what's written on the floor? REAL FEAR! Notice something else?! HE HAS NO SHADOW!!! They all don't have shadows!!!.... And Cheol was.just playing with the members but he removes his blindfold AND HE'S ALL ALONE!!!! Look, they get back their shadows one by one. Now look at Jeonghan...he looks perfectly normal, but look at his reflection after he wipes the mirror! THAT'S DARK JEONGHAN!!! Now looks at them start to slowly crumble.... WOOHOO!!! Now they get pulled into a dark alternate universe!!!!
Now we wait for the comeback this May to find out what happens to them!!!

This MV is so freaking beautiful, I can't but it into words, like the colors, the vibes, everything seems so fine and pretty but you kinda see that something is not quite right and then BOOM, upside down... I ain't smart either but they are a lot of theories, I only noticed the whole shadow things (that they don't have on actually at the beginning and then they start having it)... The choreo is the cutest thing on earth . But yeah ut definitely tease something darker for the album...kinda happy to get a storyline ike that it's always fun !

Took me a few rewatch to see those little details lol. The Fear +ing is so smart, didn't even notice that! What if the word with -ing was hidden so it would look like that? Like Fear is "ongoing/happening." In an article, Cheol also said that this album will showcase their most genuine feelings and emotions, so maybe they will share their fears (and hopefully, happiness) here? Like Fear and Trauma pt. 2 lol. (Btw, the book Josh was reading in the first part (the one in Korean) apparently means "A Shadowless Day." ANOTHER SHADOW HINT what is this)
In my own interpretation of the MV, they are talking about take care the planet, the grass scene, the bright moments of the mv, the worry moments that are in the second verse and finally the dark scene, for me is a no long future of the planet.

2:05 notice the 🕒...its not moving.. Meaning, they don't age
2:09 no shadow of Vernon's hand.. No reflection on his face
2:10 the ground/land is sliding.. Because Vernon realised the truth that they are not living in reality so their world is breaking
2:53 fun fact: now we check compatibility bonds through zodiac signs n stuffs but before they check personalities through blood types etc n it's out of trend.. So it was one of woozi's cute mistakes cos he was unaware it changed.

I feel like the Sun is Carats tho “into your heat i’m always diving”. We all know Darling is Carats. Like they’re anticipating to meet us physically (911 calling > dialling you, darling you, baby > “kiss me baby” line which requires you to be there physically with the person), but because they don’t have shadows in that world, rhey figured that world isn’t real & they won’t meet us there, so they try to find us (the sun) by following the compass they found hinted by the wall painting Jun found. If you watch their ring ceremony, in the narration Joshua refers the Sun as Carats.

I don’t know if the time stopping refers to pandemic. And the trap is their online concert /events while they were glad it was an option despite not seeing us physically, after doing it for 4/5 times, they started struggling not having carats in the audience.
The dialling thing is them meeting carats, finally in Caratland which started the TEAM SVT ERA. “+” means they’re still in the process of reuniting with the us.
There could be double title track (3 if Darling is included). 1st title track about their dark times (i feel like they’re gonna talk about their emotions during the pandemic, their worries & vulnerability) in the first MV they’ll release along with the album. Then release the last MV shortly after. Why do i think there could be more than 1 MV? It’s because of that wall painting, the last illustration is them meeting the sun & it’s all bright after going thru the dark universe. If it’s not an MV, then it’s definitely a film or teaser for their world tour! That’ll complete the storyline
I’m not sure about this, but it’s not impossible for them to have aspects from Alice in Wonderland / Through the Looking Glass, in the next MV. In Darl+ing, it’s like they fell into some sort of rabbit hole, and used glasses/mirrors to figure things out with their shadows. While Neverland is an eternal-lasting place where you don’t age, Alice in Wonderland is an opposite of that.

This is just a thought that came across my mind when i was watching the mv and reading theories, but regarding wonwoo and the sun stuff.. This is probably a bit far fetched but wonwoo's zodiac sign is cancer of which the ruling planet is the moon. Based on that we can kind of connect that to the music video, which i believe shows an eclipse overlapping with wonwoo towards the end.. Another interesting thing is that he is actually a leo in moon and mercury based on his birth charts (ruling planet sun)

@@unicatofficial3375 The reason why time stopped is simple. Look at Hoshi putting his watch in the water, and there are many watches in the pool, also the hands of the watch are fixed. They are afraid of growth.( The title of Wonwoo and Seungchul's book) They stop their watches on their own and go to Neverland, but soon realize that they have to grow up and go looking for the sun. The sun has many meanings including the carats you mentioned!
