    Thank you so much sir for this great lucid lecture about Castigliano's theorem using a simply supported beam with overhang as an example. I always struggled to get the correct answer for the deflection and slope when the beam is not a cantilevered one, such as simply supported beams. I don't know how the support reactions will contribute to the deflection at the point of interest. So this is really very useful to me. Thank you so much sir

    Very well-explained, thank you! Took me off guard when you added the deflections, but now it makes sense you are looking at the deflection at the end of the beam.
