The Q&A Video is now live on the 2nd channel. Thanks so much for all the tyre recommendations, but to be clear, I am not after an All Terrain or Rugged Terrain, it must be a Mud Terrain and Toyo and Nitto don't make muddies in my size. If you have any experience with any full muddies in a 285/70R17 I'd love to hear it.
@@Malc664 I wish it was only extra 10mm mate- they are a full inch taller so they bugger up my gearing. Also very hard to get a 34” in remote areas if I blow one
Falken wildpeak MT I sure they would have the size your after. I have 33x12.5xr15 MT they have a triple side wall, driven over 20,000km in every surface with no issues.. not too soft on the rubber compound but not too hard either, road noise is what you would expect from a top dollar tire 👌🏻
Awesome to see how the build has unfolded over the last year Harry. Thanks for the support and choosing to run our gear, glad to hear it's holding up well!
Don't worry about the baby seat issue too much unless you're planning on having a whole tribe. It's only 12ish months and they'll be round the other way and you can get some space back in the front again.
Great video Harry! Big fan! I also have a late 2020 VX (21 spec) and the Bluetooth audio issue with calls drove me nuts too, I googled, fiddled with all settings and nothing worked. I have a Rhino rack tray on top and the air spoilage makes the audio even worse. Volume control during calls didn’t change anything! I told Toyota at 12 month service, they just ‘reset it’ (not telling me if it was Bluetooth or whole entertainment system reset), but it worked. And now it’s clear as day! So get Toyota to fix under warranty. I can control audio in calls now! Cheers. Keep up the great work.

Hey Harry, keep an eye on the weight on the rear door as it can break the spot welds that hold the internal parts of the door together. Once broken the spare will wobble and make a heap of noise even on a smooth road and it is particularly noticeable when the car is empty. The rear door on my 150 lasted 5 years before this happened but after owing it for almost 11 years now, hands down the best 4wd i have had.
G'day Harry, crackin vid mate, IMO I appreciate the honesty when you are talking bout certain products ie "Yes these lights were sponsored but I retain free thoughts etc, no I didn't like them" Any potential aftermarket supplier would be mad not to support you in your ongoing build. Harry, personally i run a Yoko Geolandar X-AT G016 tyre in a 31" (they do 33") The only difference between the normal G003 and these tyres, its the tread pattern is more All terrain designed. (quieter on the road too) the construction between the mud terrain and the X-AT is exactly the same. maybe give the G003's a look. highly recommended *Edited; the typo out of the tyre type.

I’d be a bit worried about the weight in your wheel bag (tent pegs etc). I had to have the rear door on my 2018 Prado 150 replaced after some welds cracked inside the door at the top of the spare wheel bracket. I attribute it to a big Kaymar wheel spacer (since removed) and too much weight in the bag on rough roads.
Spot on. I was going to put a comment for this exact issue. I don’t think they are designed for a weight much higher than the spare tire and add to that the movements and vibrations of off-roading…
SHame you can't get Toyo MT's mate, I got them on my patrol ute 3.5T, 35k KM on them and people always say they look brand new. Honestly incredible tyres, never had a flat, never lost a lug. 👍👍👍👍🍻👍👍🍻👍👍👍👍
Ps, inox collects less dust than wd40(bricklayer 20yrs, thats why i watched, 80s named brick)
Important question!! I have the identical prado with basically the identical mods. I can’t see ditch depth when driving at night. What light bar would you chose? I need lights higher up! I live off-road in west Mongolia for context.
have you purchased new tyres yet? what did you get?
Re: exhaust note, it's a 4 cylinder Harry, it will always sound like a wet fart.
Car have kdss ?I recommend falken wildpeck mt is very resistent and very good off road acceptable on road
Harry try out the goodyear wrangler kevlar MTs. 4wd 24/7 run them for most of their rigs.
hey Harry I had nitto mud Grapplers awesome tyres very loud I am currently using Falcons wild peaks and love them I've also had hankook dynapro MT and they were also good
I went from cooper stt pro... now using falcons to... so much better for beach driving! And dont use half as much tread being an a/t tyre. Bloody awesome tyre
Great Harry. Thank you
No mention of the Awning??? Or did I go to specsavers???
Yeah I completely forgot to mention it. It has been great
@@firetofork 🤣🤣🤣🤣 you did have a lot to run through 🤣🤣🤣🤣
General Grabber X3. Take a look.
What's the difference in fuel consumption between 32s and 33s? Also, could you not put your antennae on the roof?
Faulken Wildpeak MTs, tough as nails but heavy as!
Ha Ha my wife is the same height as your wife. Judy also has a Kmart stool it must be frustrating being vertically challenged even has trouble getting things off the shelves at supermarkets as they always put things up too high. Like your video nice vehicle.
If you can get the Toyo R/T I highly reccomend them while not a traditional "muddy" they're bloody excellent offroad and get 80ish thousand K out of them(on my 2nd set and 1st was 90 thousand on a Dmax in 265/75R16 and 2nd was a GU 35x12.5R17-82thousand), I've had bad luck with Coopers and I rate them as the worse tyre, Nitto's aren't bad but they're a bit lighter then the Toyo but come out of the same factory
I can get the RTs but I really need a dedicated muddy. I have used them in mud and they didn’t have enough for me. Really well made tyre though
How's the snorkel noise under load? It seems ridiculously quiet for a stainless.
Harry, would I be right in saying that you would not buy the maxims tyres again, your input will be very much appreciated 👍, an to you and your family stay safe.
You need to watch the mechanic for Vic who is forever fixing Prado's
All car needs maintenance?? Prados are about as reliable as you can get!
Was this a commercial vehicle or did you strip the rear out I work for toyota in the uk but I can’t get the cameras on the commercial car only the invincible model
And I’d you have any fears about customising such a new car and not disturbing the capability toyota already built into it
I ask as I’m about do some a similar project any help is appreciated thanks
What about the fridge haha being a snomaster owner I was waiting..
Cooper STT Pro all the way bro :)
Awesome video thanks for answering all or questions. I have a bushman dc60 upright in my Prado purely for weight and my similar short ass missus haha.
Have you tried the BFG KM3, I know you said you tore them to shreds but that's most likely the old tyres, I run the new ones and they leaps and bounds better
What's the solar capacity on the roof? I still like BFGs but only had experience of the all terrain ones...
Hi mate , long time supporter . Love ya book . But do I need to travel to the west coast to meet you and get a sticker and badge ? 😁
Definitely not mate! My website has them
Anyone else having rust issues with front runner racks? Only been a month and all the bolts on mine are showing signs of rust.
Antenna on the roof dude you can get manual and auto folding mounts
I can’t stand roof antennas. They hit every tree and make such a racket- they also wreck the antennas so fast
And a good exhuast system would be from torqit, good sounding and big performance gain: 12kw and 45nm If im not wrong.
No performance gain in a dpf back exhaust
@@matthewstevens6605 or even any sound. If anything u might get a lil ounce out a dpf system. But good sounding exhausts and dpfs dont go together, unless you get a v8 but the lil buzz box diesels are what they are.
Hi Harry, im almost sold on the Front Runner Pro Stainless steel table. My only question, Since the legs arent height adjustable how stable can you get it on rocky ground? Thanks for the great vids
To be honest, I’ve never really had an issue wit it, even in rocky ground it takes a few seconds to just jiggle it around and get it flat
Harry - just get yourself a set of Nitto Trail Grapplers 🤷♂️
I’m interested in what you can come up with for an exhaust system, I’ve been looking at PPD performance, but I’ll be wait for your exhaust comparison video now ;)
I wouldn’t recommend ppd, Ive had a ppd system in the pajero and after 2 years the turbo/dumpipe cracked halfway throught the pipe, 3 holes appeared in the system, one of the screw in mounts snapped off and there was a crack on the muffler. so I would not reccomend it.
The dpf is the reason the exhaust notes are so muffled. Hard to get a good note out of anything with a dpf in it or that isnt a v8.
$6-$7k for a wrap is pretty ridiculous for a vehicle like a prado. You could have the vehicle open door resprayed for much less.
Harry try Falken Wildpeaks, coming from BFG's they are so much better
Nice save on the baby comment...
Have you had a look at the falken wildpeak tyres
Please try pizza cutter for the next tires
Hankook dynapro mt, are worth checking
I have the same suspension, can you share what settings (clicks) are you running front and rear
Mickey Thompson Baja Boss 33x12.5??
Do you run a solar panel permanently on the roof?
Yep, ORA bars seem to loose paint real quick 🙄
thank you for great asset well like done keep lightweight
