Yep. Had a '65 Coronet that needed push starting at least once that I can remember. Got it up to at least 20 MPH and dropped her in low gear, and she fired right off.
Just upgraded the valve body in my 63 torqueflite, shifts like a dream.

the best trany ever. 1965 was the last year it had a rear oil pump. meaning that was the last year you could push start one.
