    I'm really not into farming or construction vehicles, but I think Technic is the right sub brand for them and this model proves this again. Technic lends itself to the boxy industrial looks and many real functions can be replicated as well. Makes more sense to me than the super cars if I'm honest.

      I do agree, however the part count to cost on this one is ridiculous, and only bothered to put suspension on half the thing nothing to lift in the set, the orange and white 42182 tow truck has way more parts more functions and pneumatics and seems a sturdier build and is cheaper too its a no brainier for me

    for whatever reason, it makes me happy to see a grown man on his hands and knees in a field with a lego set :)

    The pneumatic tractors/heavy machinery like this are great and all, but sometimes I wonder if we'll ever see a pneumatic lowrider set from Lego. It seems a perfectly logical and fun thing to do, and the boxy look lends itself well to Technic.

    Great review, and a far more interesting functioning set than it appeared; looks pretty good too.
    Price is definitely high, which is no surprise these days, but it'd seem like a price of an 18+ set, even though this is an 11+ set. The other issue regarding its price is it's also uncomfortably more costly than the Heavy Duty Tow Truck which is still on sale. Although that is unlicensed and is based on an entirely different type of machine, it also has pneumatics, more (mostly small) pieces and is similarly sized or a bit larger.

    Impressive, cant wait to get my hands on this beauty to built and review it. Awesome source of pneumatik pieces, heavy duty diffs and big tires. But the price is hefty even with heavy discounts, I think I will buy it only twice ^^
    Awesome review by the way, as always :)

    I was hoping for a Perseverance review. But I couldn't wait any longer, I love everything connected to outer space, so I've ordered one today it should come to me on friday. About this John Deere, the original one's looks are perfect for Lego technics representation and that's why it looks so authentic. I'm not so much into pneumatics so I wasnt that much hyped about it. But it definitely looks nice and is very playable. The price ... everything is going up in price nowadays, like someone here wrote, adjusting for inflation this price doesn't look so bad although it still is a lot of money for such set that isn't motorised.

    I think this set is simple but nice! The overall functionality,looks,useage of the parts,playability and all the aspects are uniquer than other years previously. Definitely overpriced but unfortunately this is the case every time. I definitely wait for few months and I see what is the real retail price will be. Nice review with all the interesting methods of the build. 😊

    I like the 8464 Pneumatic loader set better. I have 2 of them, and these days I'm trying to build a better grabber than the one in the instructions for the B model. MOD, not MOC.
    That "technical liftarm frame" is definitely useful in the strength of the construction, but somehow that feeling of building something beautiful and functional from simple bricks seems to lose its flavor.

    What do you think, why Lego combines Pneumatic actuators with linear actuators, once we already have pneumatic functions? I think it would make sense to replace linear actuators to pneumatic ones at the front.

    • @searme
      @searme  ปีที่แล้ว

      Maybe they just didn't have room for fourth pneumatic valve, or maybe they decided that linear actuators keep the blade's height locked better.

  • @tomsko863

    I was always curious, who decides the naming convenstion of these NEW parts? Are these placeholder names or does LEGO name them beforehand?

    • @PhoenixClank
      @PhoenixClank ปีที่แล้ว

      I think the ones Sariel uses in his videos are placeholders he came up with himself, based on what similar parts are called on Bricklink. The "official" name gets decided somewhere within Bricklink (so by now, Lego themselves) when the set gets inventoried, though I haven't looked up how that works.

  • @floba7272
    @floba7272 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    As usual, Lego has gone for the manufacturer's largest device, which isn't necessarily the best one to play with. You would need a whole bunch of logs here and there isn't even one log included. I won't complain, though, because it so happens that this huge, rather small-scale device seems to fit my own builds perfectly. In order to be able to really judge that, it would of course have been nice if there were a few words about it in the review

    You make a point that it costs more than the Xerion tractor and the Arocs, however they were released over 6 years ago so things are bound to be more expensive now. I'd be interested to see how much pricing has changed over the years - obviously inflation will have made a difference, but it's likely Lego are padding it out a bit as well!

      Też czekałem na recenzję łazika ale w końcu się dzisiaj złamałem i zamówiłem. Ma być u mnie w piątek. W sumie od razu jak zobaczyłem, że takie coś wypuszczają to się nakręciłem. Na piwko dużo bardziej niż na ten traktor. No i jest połowę tańszy. Czy swojej ceny? Zobaczymy .... ale raczej myślę że tak, z tego co widziałem promo, to wygląda bardzo ciekawie.

    • @Jachucreation
      @Jachucreation ปีที่แล้ว

      Właśnie chcę się upewnić, czy ciągnik wart jest jego zakupu (uwielbiam sety z pneumatyką, lecz zeszłoroczny mnie zasmucił, a mam już volvo, a ten daje dużo lepsze pole do popisu). Z 2 strony łazik i ogólnie tematy kosmiczne w technic są bardzo żadkie (ostatni to kojarzę prom kosmiczny), więc świetna okazja na coś innego. Na moje szczęście plan na któryś z 2 jest na przyszły rok, więc recenzję zobaczę

    • @oskarskalski2982
      @oskarskalski2982 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Jachucreation ja dosłownie przed chwilą odebrałem swojego łazika. Na razie tylko otwarłem pudło i zajrzałem do instrukcji. Instrukcja mnie bardzo zawiodła, bo praktycznie nie ma żadnych informacji o misji perseverance (a to było dosyć duże wydarzenie jednak, pamiętam jak oglądałem na żywo). Też bardzo się interesuję wszystkim co jest związane z kosmosem i wcześniej rozważałem zakup Saturn V, promu discovery + hubble albo lądownika misji Apollo, chociaż najchętniej bym wziął ten prom co był w latach 90-tych z technics ale ceny są jednak poza zasięgiem. I jak zobaczyłem, że wypuszczają perseverance z technics to wiedziałem że go kupię, bo jednak nie chcę czegoś co będzie stało tylko na półce. Z resztą ja ogólnie dla siebie kupuję tylko technics.

    • @Jachucreation
      @Jachucreation ปีที่แล้ว

      Świetnie, że już swój masz. Sam interesuję się nieco kosmosem, bo jednak jest to nie zbadany świat. W przypadku mojej kolekcji dominuje Technic, lecz 2 lata temu na urodziny dostałem f8 tributto i od tamtej chwili zacząłem zbierać i je, zwłaszcza, że technic lekko podupadł (w stosunku do lat np 2004, 2007 itp), dla mnie samochody są mało odkrywcze (mimo że mam 3 z technic, defender, z 2017 na gąsienicach i samochód strażacki bodajrze z 2018). Jednak modele typu pevency czy skidder są tym, co dla mnie jest kwintesencją technic, czyli mechanizmy i różnego rodzaju ruchy i czynności.
      Szkoda że nie dodali żadnych dodatkowych materiałów w instrukcji

    • @oskarskalski2982
      @oskarskalski2982 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Jachucreation Zgadzam się, że technic trochę podupadł, chociaż wydaje mi się, że zaczyna być coraz lepiej, a przynajmniej ten najgorszy czas już minął. Dla mnie taką kwintesencją technicsa jest zestaw 8880, czyli supersamochód. Tam mimo tego, że nie ma jakiejś ogromnej ilości elementów (na dzisiejsze standardy), to upchnięto niesamowitą ilość funkcji: napęd na cztery koła, mechanizmy różnicowe, świetne zawieszenie (oczywiście jak na samochody lego;), skrzynia biegów z 4 przełożeniami. Może kiedyś sobie zafunduję ten zestaw:), chociaż wolałbym jednak chyba prom kosmiczny z tamtych lat. Sam niedawno odkopałem swoje technicsy z dzieciństwa (początek lat 90) i powiem szczerze, że nawet dzisiaj ujmują pomysłowością rozwiązań, a mój syn się bardzo chętnie nimi bawi. Wtedy też wyszło Technics Control Center, to był szał, prawie się śliniłem nad gazetką jak to oglądałem. No ale niestety, nie było nas na to stać.

    What do you actually do with a skidder in real life?
    I understand you can drag logs with it, but you can’t stack them or load them onto something, right?

    • @gtrulez
      @gtrulez 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      A feller buncher takes all the trees down in the forest that need to be cut. (It would be an amazing b model for this set imo, john deere makes the 843L-II for example) it drops them in small stacks wich the skidder can grab and drag them out of the difficult terrain. It usually drags them to a processing area where the trees are then chopped to smaller logs and placed in stacks so trucks can go pick them up and bring them to a saw mill or something.

    When compared to the Mercedes Arocs truck with motorized pneumatics and other motorized functions it's sad to see this kind of set is similar priced like the new sets like this with no motorized functions. I get the inflation compensation and the fact Lego is more populair then ever with a lot of new afols who can spend more than kids, but this feels kinda outpriced and excluding future afols who can't spend this much.
