@16:33 I remember sitting in the theater when Ethan walked up to the edge of the window and the black bars at the top and bottom of the screen actually faded away and it became full IMAX. You could see everybody tense up in their seats when the camera went outside and looked down.

The actor who played Hanaway, the agent that is shot in the beginning, is Josh Holloway, He's another example of JJ Abrams' casting actors he's worked with before. Josh played one of the main characters in Lost, which Abrams created and produced.

My favorite Mission Impossible. It is absolutely brilliant from start to finish. One thing I really liked about this is that everything goes wrong and Ethan and his team have to improvise and then that plan almost goes wrong, it kept me on the edge of my seat. Tom actually doing the Burj Khalifa stunt for the time this came out was absolutely insane, I remember that being on the news and advertised everywhere
My favorite moments are the escape from prison/"Light the fuse", when Ethan abseils down the Burj Khalifa as the theme plays and when he spots Julia. I was happy that he still makes sure that she is ok, he did the right thing letting her go, it means he truly loved her by staying away.
What's so great about this franchise is these movies keep getting better and better which is a rarity with film franchises coming out today

I will say, one of the best things about Mission Impossible is how it's learned to use humor. None of these movies are like Mission Impossible 2... but you get the sense that a lot of the other government workers who aren't part of the IMF (in future movies) have literally only seen Mission Impossible 2. Because THEY all think it's ridiculous. Seriously, there are scenes were the IMF is "in trouble" and "in the principals office" and you half expect them to start complaining about the Doves budget. Like the IMF has a budget just for doves they can put into a box and set by the door, knowing that when the bomb goes off, the doves won't be hurt, but the box will open and the doves will fly out, in front of the open door, right as Tom Cruise walks by menacingly.... Like, "Where did you guys get these doves?" "John brought them." "Who?" "No, Woo. John Woo. He brought the doves. They're his."

    Scary side-note:
Having just read a pretty recently published book titled "Nuclear War: A Scenario",
I just realized while watching this video that this movie is inaccurate (duh, I mean besides just all the inaccuracies for movie fun purposes lol), specifically in a way that downplays the threat of nuclear war massively.
One of the terrifying things that it's leaving out, is that the US has a policy called "Launch on warning", which basically means that as soon as a launch is detected (and via the SBIRS satelite, STRATCOM knows of it in less than a second, even if it's on the other side of the planet), a procedure is started to get the president's order to react within a few minutes, by emptying the entire arsenal of land-side nukes (a couple hundred of them across the US, all of which are ALWAYS ready and waiting to launch within a minute, and all of which each have the destructive power of thousands of the "merely" atomic bombs dropped in WW2. Thermonuclear bombs use the atomic bombs as just the fuse for the actual bomb). The US will not wait for the actual first hit to happen before responding.
There's also no way to recall or deactivate an ICBM with a nuke once it's launched.
These are just some of the fantasies in the movie that I wish were true in the real world, but unfortunately are not, and public awareness about much of that topic is concerningly nonexistent.
    Another more movie-general related side-note:
There has been some news that Denis Villeneuve might be making a movie based on the mentioned book, so we might soon finally get a movie that'll portray the ever-present threat of nuclear war in a more appropriately shocking way.

    Late comment.
M:I-4 came out near Christmas 2011.
    Major upgrade for the franchise.
Saw it in IMAX, 5 days before it's initial release.
Brad Bird (The Incredibles, Ratoutoulle and The Iron Giant) did amazingly well with his first live-action film.
From part 4 onward, they utilize IMAX technology for core visual scenes in these sequels.
This one definitely proved that Cruise is one of the best actors to ever do action period.
The cast (IMF, villains) was great.
Jeremy Renner was super busy between this franchise, the MCU and ever the Bourne franchise.
Not too many 4th installments are this good neither.
RIP to Michael Nyqvist (Hendricks/Cobalt) and Tom Wilkinson (IMF Secretary).

I also recommend Qatar. It is a mix of traditional Arabic culture and western culture. Many who have traveled there have returned home happy. Lusail City, Doha are all beautiful places next to Dubai. Qatar is also a much safer country. But that also applies to Dubai. Because the punishments are also very harsh, of course. I don't know how it is in Dubai, but in Qatar almost everyone speaks English very well. It's probably because Qatar is one of the USA's most important allies in the Middle East.

While this was a great stunt at the Burj Khalifa, the film, "Sharkey's Machine" featured a stunt man named Dar Robinson, who fell 700 feet from a building. The greatest stunt jump ever.

7:18 Uh, when you're in the military, one of those first things they train into you in early training is always salute officers. Always. If they have the uniform and the stars, etc, you salute always. You don't recognize the guy, you still salute. And there are a lot of officers in any military, so somebody could get away with this. The vast majority of military people would each be thinking "Just another high-ranking officer I've never seen before."

Always great to see a Vkunia reaction, and as usual, well done and enjoyable. The big plus is she is so beautiful, though this can distract from the film under her scrutiny. I can live with that, though. Love your perspective and insights when seeing for the first time. Keep 'em coming, girl!
