I got inspired after playing Bayonetta and started to do some research. In a few words the angels are somewhat accurate to their depictions in ancient times. Dear and decorations and Inspired are pretty spot on, Enchant too as being a fiery wheel but as expected some depictions of them are a quite exaggerate to make them look scary and dangerous. I'd like to note that those angels are more related to Judaism more than Christianity. @Shawn Dimery Well in a sense... yes. A car angel is totally possible since there are holy chariots described in several books. Just look at Kinship. It's a holy ship (minus the rockets) and angels tend to take a form that's more confortable to humans. Let's suppose an angel needs to appear nowadays, in ancient times it would be a chariot but since those are outdated and may seem weird they may take shape into a car. So yeah.... totally possible.
Some of them are accurate but of course they take lots of creative liberty with the angels since they have to make a bunch of them and they’re “evil” in Bayonetta.
I remember my gf was over at my house watching me play Bayonetta and she was just rolling her eyes the entire time. She unfortunately had the misfortune of watching the Joy intro cutscene play out. I burst out laughing knowing what her reaction would be an I was right. She stood up and said " ok fuck this I'm going home. Here I was thinking I've seen everything but NOPE CUT TO FUCKING ORGY SHOT!" I had to pause the game from laughing so hard. We still ended up getting married and now have two kids and a dog. Life's good 👍
Still my favourite game to this day! Never fail to get chills with Jubileus's entrance; the pose, the music, the realization you're about to fight God/a God... And oh god, I forgot about Joy's intro! I don't know how they got away with that shot, and the sounds...

Unlikely gonna happen but I would like to see a crossover between Bayonetta and Doom, have a full on war between the angels from Bayonetta and the demons from doom with Bayonetta and the Doom Slayer in the middle of it all.

I honestly agree. Not saying that the angels in Bayonetta 2 are bad, far from it, I think they are still great(my favorites design wise being Valor, Glamor and Allegiance), but the angels in the first Bayonetta have more memorability, especially since some of the angels in Bayo 2 were just alternate versions of previous angels. Examples: Acceptance = Affinity Chalet and Compassion = Dear & Decorations Belief = Beloved Overall, the angel design in Bayo 1 is easily to me the better one, but Bayo 2 does get several great designs.

They aren’t evil at all. There goal is to create a world where light rules all. And light mostly is synonymous for good. Despite their goal the game wants to make them evil so they made them help aesir( which doesn’t make sense)

Why are they named like that? Ironically, the naming and design are more accurate to the way bible described these angels than modern interpretation. The bible described angels many different ways, from having a dragonic look, having 4 faces, or a body that's literally wheels covered in eyes.
Beloved is an abomination with a creepy mouth, no way is that beloved. Golem has no holy name it's just a guardian of Purgatorio. Dear and Decorations is a strange one. Faithless and Fearless are obedient guard dogs That car one is the unique one of them all, there's no human form. Braves is just downsized Beloveds Affinity, typical mooks that go down fast. Harmony, the commanders of the Affinity class.
Based on Ezekiel quote he described God throne on a chariot being carried by four Ophanim which are literally wheels within wheels with eyeballs, many wings and always on fire. On four side of the chariot defended by four Cherubim describe with four heads of human, ox (sometime bull), lion and eagle, hooves for legs, eyeballs everywhere on their bodies, two wings covering their bodies and two other for flying also they on fire as well.
