Unless you're into expensive shopping and rich snobs, why go to Aspen? There's way prettier mountain towns that are less expensive. Georgetown is right on the Freeway it's more of a truckstop. Glenwood Springs, again, a major freeway runs right through. Same with Vail. Personally I think the best mountain towns are more secluded and less noisy via speeding cars. Replace above places with Breckenridge, Ouray and Durango.
I love Colorado. I am so Lucky to have lived in 3 of the most beautiful states Montana Washington and Colorado.

Alta, Utah, Mammoth Mountain, CA and Lake Louise, Canada are a million X better than anything in Colorado.
Most of Utah is ugly compared to Colorado.
