    I bought two, and both nozzles leak at the gaskets. The lids seal okay, but not the nozzles.

      Huh, hit them up for warranty? I haven’t had any issues with mine yet!

      Same here, bought the green vevor gas can and it's "no leak nozzle" leaks everywhere worse than the cheap plastic cans. Also the pos gasket keeps falling out in the dirt

      @@bv6788 I've had the same issue with the spout gasket... it fell out, don't know where... I might try to make my own gasket from nitrile rubber. I ordered some Nato type gaskets from Amazon, I'll return them if they don't fit.

    As a military dude, I've seen a lot of gas cans, The failing point on these cans is the exterior ridge that runs on the surface along the front and back. When you start sling these around those edges get damaged and leak! Before you know it the bed of your truck is covered in gas...Scary!! if your carrying 2-5 additional cans. NO SMOKING DUDES!

      Definitely want to be careful with any fuel cans. I've had these for a few years (I think they may have stopped producing them, so it's possible they had issues...) but I strap them to the side of my truck bed and don't let them knock around and they've been fine so far.

    Enjoy your videos, keeping it real for us 9-5 dads who have limited time and budget! Very interested in where you are going, not to many places that remote in the us anymore.

    Nice video, those look like excellent Jerry cans! Love the features and the long filler neck. 👍

      They’re pretty sweet for the money! And since I need 6 for Canada this summer, it made sense financially to pick some of these up!

    OK in this video I noticed on the left on the deck System, the ammo can that needs a paint job. Just thought I’d point that out. The Jerry cans look nice and a good option.😊

      Haha, good eye. That was actually trash that was left at the campsite before I got there. I picked it up and took it out since it was trash. 😀

    What do you do with the spout when it’s not in use? Is there a way to store it on the can?

    • @AllThingsOverlanding
      @AllThingsOverlanding  9 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Not really. I sort of run it through the handles so it stays on top.

    I purchased one of these Vevor cans, partly due to TH-cam reviews and partly because of price. Well the latter took out a chunk of my you know what. Compared to the Harbor Freight, this is greatly inferior excluding the pour spout. The seams, total lack of a sealed surface on the steel inside, the style of the seams, etc. Do yourself a favor if in the market for a Jerry can. Purchase a good used Army surplus (does not come with the pour spout) or order one from Harbor Freight. At least the interior of the can will not rust up quickly as the Vevor does.

      @AllThingsOverlanding  ปีที่แล้ว

      Good feedback. I've got 4 of these cans and 2 other budget cans and I've used them all multiple times over the last few years and I've had no rust problems. Some exterior rust where the powdercoat/paint has chipped, but nothing on the insides of them at all.

    Hey! Off topic: I'm a fellow Indiana local and am about to buy an xterra. Your channel has contributed this for sure. How important is that rear locker? Will I regret buying a non pro4x/offroad? This is for occasional overlanding/offroad trips. Think, trips to red bird for my most serious wheeling. I don't want to buy a non offroad and regret it

    • @AllThingsOverlanding
      @AllThingsOverlanding  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      So, my X was an SE and didn't have a locker and it was great and super capable. I will say that the locker is extremely helpful when you need it, but I definitely don't think you'll regret it if you get a trim that doesn't have it.

    I see you comment below about why they no longer carry. I believe I got the last cans they sold and it is because as one man on here says is they do leak sometimes from the nozzle. I recently bought 2 of these and like the one man says they seal fine when closed but he is wrong in one place it is not the seal that leaks but at bottom of nozzle in the front there is a small vent hole. If when pouring it doesn't vent off vent in can just right it will drip gas out this vent hole on the bottom front of the nozzle. I got ahold of them to warranty the cans we went through several things they claimed I was doing wrong and I did what they asked and videoed pouring out of the cans and confirmed I was correct. They finally admitted there was a flaw with the design and credited me money back on the cans. I accepted and kept cans because I love the seal when hauling in back of my van. When I use them I either use a funnel on what I am feeling and just don't use the nozzle or when using nozzle wrap a rag around the vent hole on the nozzle. Great cans if you can deal with this fault. I looked couple weeks later to see if they still had same deal on selling 2 of these and they had been taken off site. I had seen other people on their site dealing with the same issue and figure it just got to costly. But who knows maybe they just sold them all.

    • @AllThingsOverlanding
      @AllThingsOverlanding  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      The funnel is a good idea. I haven't had any issues with mine yet, but I also only use them maybe a few times a year on a trip.

      I've heard from a couple of other commenters that it appears they've stopped producing them. I'll update the link to the Wavian cans which get rave reviews. They're more expensive, but they're great fuel cans. Here's that link: amzn.to/3WxQYxz

    Big Question no one has asked. As I understand it these fuel tanks build up pressure. I live in Texas! It's over 105 degrees on some days. When driving on a hot day 500 miles pressure will build up in the tank, and I always thought that OSHA or DOT approved tanks need to have a built in pressure relief system so that the pressure is released without risk of explostion. Not Going to Buy

    • @AllThingsOverlanding
      @AllThingsOverlanding  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah, good point. All these style jerry cans do not have vents and do build up pressure. I’ve opened them and had them vent fairly aggressively but never had any problems. You just open them slow and let them vent. Not a problem, but something to consider.

  • @chrisjk
    @chrisjk 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

    They look quite good, but I would rather prefer the original NATO version produced by Valpro in Latvia (which are often sold under the Wavian brand). Reliable, proven and (almost) built for eternity.

    Do the Vevor stickers come off or would they be easy to remove?

  • @philandrawis6232
    @philandrawis6232 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    they don't carry them anymore in the store and the ones you got are not good as they are not NATO class spec where the weld is inward not sticking out which makes it vulnerable to damage

    • @AllThingsOverlanding
      @AllThingsOverlanding  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Wonder if they just didn't sell enough, despite the lower price. And as to the NATO cans, agreed they're better, but generally 2-3 times as much so I guess it depends on your needs.
      If you're going on the road full time or building a longer term tourer, then you'd want to spend more money. In my case, these sit in the garage 11.5 months out of the year and I throw them in the bed of the truck only when going on longer trips, which happen maybe once a year if I'm lucky.
      Guess it depends on priority and budget!

    If it's not in gallons, I have no use for it. lol 99% of the people who watched this vehicle have no idea how much 20 liters is in relation to gallons. Now, u have forced everyone to look up a conversion calculator. Weak.

    • @AllThingsOverlanding
      @AllThingsOverlanding  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +5

      lol, I thought it was common knowledge that 20 liters was basically 5 gallons.
