Thanks Buster for your lasting legacy, your generosity in donating so much of your time free of charge on youtube and other forums. As our dear lord embraces you and carries you across the threshold, we know that Heaven is richer having taken you in. For all you do and have done, RIP
I reckon he'd be in the top ten finger pickers ever. Damn close to Chet and Jerry and very articulate. Sad he died so young. He had much more to give and was very generous with his time. RIP mate.
Last lick: pulloff G on first string, d on 2nd string, open e on first string, pulloff c on 2nd string, a# on 3rd string, open b on 2nd string, pulloff a on 3rd string, e on 4th string, open g on 3rd string, pulloff e on 4th string, b on 5th string, open d on 4th string, g on 6th string, strum G chord. Close anyway and the open strings sound nice.
Is English your first language? This is an instructional video. Buster Jones is not here to entertain you. If you're bored with this video, tuneout Why do some feel as if they MUST be entertained when viewing videos on youtube. Buster is a phenominal player & is well respected by his piers. My point; Buster is a professional-he earns a living playing. Do the math, he has donated his time & is teaching-free of charge to those eager to learn what he has to offer. Thanks Buster & TH-cam
That's a real shame to lose another great so soon after Jerry Reed. I have all his tape lessons and learned more watching them than anything else. Buster was the only player I ever heard who could actually sound just like Jerry. Many come close. Guess Jerry has some up there that can keep up with him now
Buster passed away Feb. 2, 2009 in Eugene, Oregon. He was 49. (I tried to include a link to the story, but the post didn't show up. Probably anti-spam feature or something.) Go to google, click "news" then search "buster b. jones" (with quote marks) for the article.
I’d recommend that anyone who happens to stumble upon this to have a look at Emil Ernebro’s channel if you haven’t heard of him. He’s a fantastic guitarist - I find it somehow warming that he was here 11 years ago looking at this.
Parsnipfingers thank you! Wow!! 11 years ago! I still find it funny! “In E, in D and in E”! :) relatable! I always do those mistakes in my lessons! ;) I love busters playing, too bad he is not with us anymore!
@Emil Ernebro hahah yeah I noticed that. Oh well, if it sounds nice, play it twice 🤘. I suppose we only need to worry if the teacher said he was going to play it in E#! To be honest I’ve been searching for Jerry Reed stuff to learn (try to learn... ) and so I’m getting Buster etc. in my feed now as well. Buster was great though, he went way too soon.
I just love how he’s teaching us how to tune up a guitar like it’s a beginner lesson and then burns that thing up
Buster was very gifted, and so cordial on the phone as well. A humble guy. Thank you B 👍🙏🙏

He’s dead? I didn’t even knew he was sick.
Holy S**T that guy could play!

Wow, I never would have figured he was a heavy drinker. That's a blow, he was fantastic.
3:52 sounds like he's trying to play Slayer, haha.
