    The Swedish design idea is really interesting and offers superb versatility. Are they in production?

    On September 17th, 2016, Aerovelo succeeded in further pushing the human-powered speed record to an astounding 89.59 mph (144.17 km/hr).

    What the hell with the last one and coasting turning? The put shopping cart coast wheels on it or free wheel?

    When I saw the Cabriovelo I immediately thought "Sinclair C5 with Italian styling". I hope they've done a lot of work on the stability problem inherent with that narrow delta layout, my C5 always tried to roll in high speed turns.

    Imagine the ETA with Sagan in it!
    I mean this guy did an amazing thing but it could be eclipsed dramatically
    And that Podride guy’s voice is oddly soothing

    I wish the podcar or the cabriovelo were available in America, the look fantastic and ideal for larger, heavier folks to ride and use as normal transportation.

      Unfortunately because US law does not specifically Include 4 wheeled bikes with in it's doctrine, European builders of 4 wheeled velos will not sell their product with in the US.. I got this directly from a friend who is a CEO of Armadillo velo's, and in fact nearly jeopardized a long time friendship over the discussion.. Very sad I know as I have been long time awaiting his company's product to be released in the US, for my own perches but until we gain favor within legislature and have 4 wheeled velo included in the law which only covers 2 and 3 wheeled bikes we will unfortunately be waiting a long time...

      I know, the only one available in the U.S that has 4 wheels I know of is the Rhodes car, it is heavy, bulky, expensive, and ugly compared to these beautiful, sleek human powered machines. To get something like the podcar, which is the one I'd love to get, you have to make a very expensive special order and the cost increases with ridiculously high foreign import tariffs making it far too expensive for the average American to be able to afford to buy one. its simply not worth the cost to these companies to market their bikes in the us markets.

    • @BicycleDriver
      @BicycleDriver 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ohio allows 4 wheels
      (G)
      "Bicycle"
      means every device, other than a device that is designed solely for use as a
      play vehicle by a child, that is propelled solely by human power upon which a
      person may ride, and that has two or more wheels, any of which is more than
      fourteen inches in diameter.

      That is local state law...! I'm speaking about federal law, and that is what counts when importing vehicles from outside of the US, because remember there is also US Customs inspection which hang up these things because of the literal description by federal public safety regulations and standards acts... I have been up days reading mind numbing garbage laws that don't even come near to applying to peddle assisted vehicles, but because of the obligation of having to carry out the letter of the laws handed down by the so called wise men up on the hill and their bureaucracy we suffer...! Half of them don't even know these laws exist ...! But because there is no formal lobbying on these issues on capital hill we will not see any changes of these laws for some time to come...!

    • @Dawei64
      @Dawei64 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Most areas in the US allow a 4 wheel bike, but the minute that you add any form of power assist federal laws come in that say a powered bike cannot have more than 3 wheels.

    I don’t know what’s up the with last one.
    The company sells racing bikes for pedal Prix, we have one like that and there not made for drifting.

    Frustrating that so many people out there with great ideas and can't get past the prototype stage. Asking the public for money/investments to get them into production. Maybe if more of them could get together, use the better ideas from each and move forward. I think I'll just have to build my own, with an assist from an electric boat trolling motor. I commute about 100 miles once a week and can plug it in at work to recharge. Coroplast body, assorted parts from bikes I already have.

    • @MsSomeonenew

      There are quite a few in production, but their prices usually go up to 5-8k which puts them in the low end car market. Meaning your average bike rider will not take a second look.

    I liked every one of these velos but the last...! I was disappointed by it's fishtailing rear end and can see it being a real problem for other velo manufactures to introduce their products when there is this obviously dangerous velo such as the tomahawk out on the roads creating a bad image for the velo industry...! We need to be taken seriously as an everyday road safe mode of transportation, and when you have a velo on the road doing fishtails all over the place it is hard for other motorist and government to take this form of transportation seriously...! I hope that Tomahawk velos reconsiders it's design and comes up with a serious form of transportation and recreation for the public to consider.... Best of luck to all the other velo builders and hope to see more of them on the roads soon....

    • @missbish1000
      @missbish1000 7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      The last one is designed with 3 wheel steering for the purpose of being able to get around sharp tight turns where most other velo bikes of its type and length cannot. The guy was deliberately turning the rear tire back and forth to make it fishtail by the way. Did a bit of research on it.

    • @zacharymohrmann4329
      @zacharymohrmann4329 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you for your reply... But I still think it is excessive to have a wheel turn so wildly as the one on this velo...

    • @tcorourke2007
      @tcorourke2007 7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Totally. That guy is really gonna screw it up for the other 17 people on the planet who actually commute via velomobile.

      Tomahawks are not a form of transportation on the roads or road riding. They are made for racing on a circuit.
