I dont see why people don't like Flurry Heart either. I love her, shes just a child, a baby. That's how they act. Yeah, it might be annoying, but it's realistic as well.
It’s realistic, but I don’t tune in to watch a baby make mildly-annoying situations that Twilight has to fix. There’s just nothing really interesting about it tbh. It’s alright, but not anything great. And Flurry Heart just kinda acts like a stereotypical baby. There isn’t anything distinguishing her.
Watching baby shenanigans doesn't appeal to the masses. She's adorable, and I think it's cool she already has a personality, but I'm glad they didn't focus on her too much.
In episode 3, I don't see how any of it was Flurry's fault. SHE IS A BABY!!! And babies need constant attention! Not just a little bit of attention every now and then!! That's why being a parent/guardian is so exhausting. So, Twilight was 100% in the wrong for agreeing to babysit when she had all these other tasks she had to do!!
I remember seen a Brony who is an uncle react to this episode, he really got angry when Twilight for scolding at Flurry Heart. And i agree, this sort of situation is Twilght fault becuase you should never take the babysitter job if you already busy with your own job.

Flurry is cool. I'd watch an entire show with a grown up Flurry as the main character. The fanfics about her are so fun to read. And Maud is just like me fr. Also, there's a great song about this episode, called Fly My Kite by 4everfreebrony.

"A Flurry of Emotions" is another one of my favorites! Especially because it's Flurry Hearts first but sadly only main focus episode. Seeing all of the antics and shenanigans that happened in this episode was both adorable and hilarious! Although I can't say I condone Cadence and Shining Armor just dumping Flurry Heart off on to Twilight without so much as a heads up, I mean babysitting works in a certain way for a reason especially when getting notified by the parents. However Twilight was just as bad as Cadence and Shining, It's like she said "I never shoud have agreed to watch Flurry with a jam packed schedule" this was one of the few episode where I agree with Spike. That's one of the few things I actually dislike about the episode, Because Shining Armor and Cadence had to play the neglectful parent card by "needing a break from parenting" only to later end up missing having Flurry around. And Twilight just had to prove she's "The best aunt ever" by looking after Flurry Heart despite having a mile long list of to do's, Which is obviously one of the dumbest decisions Twilight has ever made. But at least both Twilight and Cadence and Shining Armor learned their lessons in the end. As for "Rock Solid Friendship" it instantly became one of my favorite Maud episodes of the FIM series! It was interesting to see Maud get a degree in Rockology just as it was hilarious seeing Pinkie Pie go through all those shenanigans to convince Maud to move to Ponyville. And like many others when i first saw this episode i couldn't believe it when I saw the flashback revealing that Maud and Starlight met once before back when Starlight was evil. But with Starlight being reformed it was definitely the perfect opportunity for her and Maud to start over. One of my favorite parts of this episode is when Maud and Starlight discover the grotto near the gem cave it was a gorgeous underground landscape and it was good that Maud made it her permanent residents and for a number of reasons not only is the location adjacent to Ponyville but Maud also wouldn't have to worry about paying rent, bills, and taxes. lol
There really isn’t any specific incident as to why some people hated Flurryheart, just some scattered, general petty things. 1) People who just hate babies in general. 2) People saw her as the show doing a toy cash grab 3) Between Celestia, Luna, Cadence, Twilight and then Flurryheart there were people who thought the show just kept pulling Alicorns out of its ass. 4) The show established her as the first ever born Alicorn which apparently contradicted some lore stated outside of the show and their own assumptions, and people didn’t like that. 5) People widely thought that Celestia and Luna were born Alicorns and they didn’t like the change/being wrong. 6)Some people thought Flurryheart was overpowered. 7)People didn’t like that she looked different to other babies, ex. the baby cakes. 8)People didn’t like her exaggerated features, large eyes and wings. (feeding into the toy cash grab theory) I think that’s all that I can remember that people were complaining about. I don’t agree with most of them, just listing them, the only one I agree with is that her appearance is weird, she’s cute but even you asked “why does she look older than the baby cakes?”, which she does and I genuinely don’t know why. 1:35-2:05 G5 is more mixed, I like G5 and you should at least give it a chance and make your own opinion. The continuity is complicated, so I recommend watching all Make Your Mark before Tell Your Tale because some Tell Your Tale episodes spoil Make Your Mark also some Tell Your Tale episodes were released out of order. The G5 movie "My Little Pony: A New Generation" is the introduction, introducing us to the new world and characters (Note: the VA's from the movie are different than the show) Some things you should know about Make Your Mark is, 1. It's more of a serialized story, and 2. Chapter 1 is pretty rough, mainly because lack of time and less people working on it. The animation and writing get a lot better later on. And just incase you might ask, "my order" from best to worst chapter is, 5, 4, 6, ANG, 2, 3, 1.
One thing I forgot to mention, the songs. The songs in G5 most are more modern, more similar to EQG songs than FIM songs. Also, most songs are cut for time, but the full versions of every song has been released.

I know you know there’s more to childcare than playing, it was the first lesson Pinkie learned when she was babysitting. On top of that, her schedule was packed, she was trying to multitask and ended up putting the baby on the back burner, so all the times when Flurryheart needed actual care and attention, 5:456:318:158:499:249:48, she either wasn’t paying attention to her, dismissed her or ended up yelling at her.

I know this stream is like weeks old, but in the rare event that you see my comment - the reason the new gen is bad is due to complications behind the scenes with writing and funding, and the fact that they lost the IP to Friendship is Magic Seasons 4-9. So they tried to connect Gen 5 to Gen 4 without having access to literally 2/3s of the show.

Answering for the new gen question without spoiling, new gen has lore drops, but they go about it in the most tedious way ever. 💔 It goes sooo slow. Scoot already knows what they did to Spike ☠️ I'm not personally against the new gen, but they couldve rewritten the story a bit and had higher production quality because I've already noticed very noticable animation errors.

It’s not guaranteed that an alicorn is an automatic princess. Normally, to get wings, it is (as rarity puts it) something that has to be earned by accomplishing a princess worthy deed. In this case, Flurry Heart didn’t do anything yet, she’s an alicorn, not a princess. *SORTA SPOILER ALERT* it’s later proved that she accomplishes a “princess worthy deed” on one of the glass panels in the last episode, that is assumed to be when she is crowned princess of what I assume is the crystal empire.
Why the actual heck did Cadence and Shining decide "Let the TWO of us hoof our OVERPOWERED UNPREDICTABLE baby over to our ONE sister who we know has a tendency to freak out a bit when things go wrong" and on top of that show up unannounced? What if she hadn't been home or had been in some delegation meeting thingy? What if she was already burnt out from something?
Ehh, don't mind the haters, just watch it (G5) if you like, form your own opinion on it. (I think it gets overhated and misunderstood alot and I wish they could reset their expectations and try enjoying it for what it is.) Whether to make it a reaction, though. . . Gen 5 is NOT that bad. The movie was REALLY good. The show starts off pretty bad, but it's had its moments. The problem is that it's inconsistent, and most of the songs from the show are super generic pop crap. It's sad the show is so mid, because the movie really was exceptionally good. It even got a lot of buzz from non bronies when it came out.
I remember enjoying the movie but then bouncing HARD off the high drop in quality for the first two episodes and haven't been able to muster the will to give it another shot since.

Tbh I think there's like 8 episodes that people really don't like in Season 7. (Imo) Flurry Of Emotions. A Rock Solid Relationship. Triple Treat. Secret And Pies. To Change A Changeling. Daring Done. I don't think people HATE Flurry Heart, but let's be honest: none of us watch MLP to watch baby stuff happen and some people don't want/like babies anyway, so it really doesn't appeal to them. Although, as far as cartoon babies go, MLP babies are actually kinda cute.
cadence screwed the lore bad enough, adding a 3rd ali, but then flurry comes and upends the lore again, and does so in universe to boot, and then it's blatantly obvious that they only screwed the lore so bad purely for more toys. that's why we hate flurry sm.
G5 is the reason I even started watching MLP in the first place and no it's my favorite show. I would recommend watching the movie first to see how you feel before diving into the show. I do believe the G5 movie is better than the G4, hot take I know.

TLDR: The reason people dislike flurry heart is because the shatters mlp lore and visual consistency for the sake of what feels like a cash grab by hasbro. It has nothing to do with her character, and everything to do with her existence. First: she’s a newborn pony with regular pony eyes and massive wings that just don’t look right on her tiny frame. Her horn is also huge but less egregious. Its some kind of favoritism but regardless it feels wrong. Second: her birth is a MASSIVE lore nugget that is never explained. Nobody knows why she was born an alicorn, and we never find out. The show brings it up like it’s something significant and then never follows up. Celestia and luna even react in the most vague way possible. Third: in her debut episode, a season opener, she is a plot device. She is the discord/tirek/sombra/starlight/chrysalis level threat that it takes all the main 6, celestia, luna, cadence, shining armor, sunburst, and starlight to fix what she broke. I don’t think its a bad season opener, and I don’t dislike flurry as a character. As for the fandom: So imagine you’ve been following a show for 6 years that shows that alicorns are gods among men capable of moving celestial bodies, and shows that a select few who prove themselves worthy can be elevated to walk amongst those gods. The ads for the new season opener are touting all about how the new *royal baby* is born an alicorn, I repeat *born a god* . Seriously hyping up the introduction of this character. the fandom vibe I had going in was cautiously optimistic. Hoping for more lore on alicorns and expecting by the end to have at least one question answered. Hopefully celestia and luna will finally confirm that they too were born alicorns, or we can confirm, or at least have our ponies suspect that there’s a chance literal godhood is genetic. Nope. None. ZIP zilch nothing. Oh and, yknow those gods that there were only two of for at least almost 1000 years? the power of just four of wich is equal to every pony in equestria AND discord combined ? Yeah there’s one more now. Do you want to know about her? No, you don’t get an explanation. Did you want to wait patiently for episodes exploring her personal story? Sorry no, she’s a newborn. Did you want to wait for the season finale mayhaps, hoping that we would close the open questions 26 episodes later like we did the last 2 times? Too bad. That’s why people really didn’t like flurry. They pulled out a massive wold-altering character, probably specifically to get a good rating on the season opener and sell toys, and then ignored her world-altering ness completely.
And you know what's arguably crazier? We might very well get some answers to our alicornundrums . . . IN G5!! And I don't know whether it's a blessing or a curse we have to see a different series to understand something like this! Eh, depending on who you ask, I suppose? Some of us actually don't see the new gen as a vat of inconsistencies and wasted potential. I for one enjoy the lore expansions and bridge between gens so far (yeah despite the huge time gap, major changes, and boatload of unanswered questions leaving us all in an Izzy tizzy 😅), and Tell Your Tale Season 2 has been doing more of that and is more consistent in quality compared to what came before. We very well might learn an ancient Alicorn secret once we get to Skyros! Can't wait! 🤩 (But try not to be disappointed if we don't get any answers, ok? There's still value in the gen as it is. Just like with G4 which had its own disappointments but is still beloved by alot of us.)
In answer to your questions about the new Gen of MLP... yeah, its kinda a mess. The movie was pretty good, but the show and the internet shorts that came after are all over the place. Some are decent, some are crap, some straight up contradict stuff from this gen. I'd say watch the movie and see where you wanna go from there
My personal reason for disliking Flurry Heart is because there was another character who was going to be the daughter of Cadence and Shining Armor named Skyla, who was a toy that was made a while ago alongside Larva, daughter of Queen Chrysalis. Flurry Heart not only looks very strange in comparison to what I had hoped, but I also didn’t want an Alicorn baby.
Yeah, the main reason I don't care for Flurry has to do with alicorn inflation. Hell I'm still slightly annoyed about Cadence being an alicorn instead of just a unicorn like in the original script because it tramples over the uniqueness of Twilight's ascension and the whole theme of her becoming the third alicorn as a bridge between day and night reflecting both her name and how she reunited them in the first two episodes. All that thematic setup trashed by executive meddling.

The continuity is complicated, so I recommend watching all Make Your Mark before Tell Your Tale because some Tell Your Tale episodes spoil Make Your Mark also some Tell Your Tale episodes were released out of order.
The G5 movie "My Little Pony: A New Generation" is the introduction, introducing us to the new world and characters (Note: the VA's from the movie are different than the show)
Some things you should know about Make Your Mark is,
1. It's more of a serialized story, and
2. Chapter 1 is pretty rough, mainly because lack of time and less people working on it. The animation and writing get a lot better later on. And just incase you might ask, "my order" from best to worst chapter is, 5, 4, 6, ANG, 2, 3, 1.
One thing I forgot to mention, the songs.
The songs in G5 most are more modern, more similar to EQG songs than FIM songs. Also, most songs are cut for time, but the full versions of every song has been released.
Maud is easily one of the best character also i love to see Twi taking care of Flurry is pretty cute

I know you know there’s more to childcare than playing, it was the first lesson Pinkie learned when she was babysitting. On top of that, her schedule was packed, she was trying to multitask and ended up putting the baby on the back burner, so all the times when Flurryheart needed actual care and attention, 5:45 6:31 8:15 8:49 9:24 9:48, she either wasn’t paying attention to her, dismissed her or ended up yelling at her.
It has been theorized that Flurry Heart is the Princess of Love-for-one's-parents, whereas Cadence mom is the Princess of Maternal Love

I know this stream is like weeks old, but in the rare event that you see my comment - the reason the new gen is bad is due to complications behind the scenes with writing and funding, and the fact that they lost the IP to Friendship is Magic Seasons 4-9. So they tried to connect Gen 5 to Gen 4 without having access to literally 2/3s of the show.

I'm not personally against the new gen, but they couldve rewritten the story a bit and had higher production quality because I've already noticed very noticable animation errors.

It’s not guaranteed that an alicorn is an automatic princess. Normally, to get wings, it is (as rarity puts it) something that has to be earned by accomplishing a princess worthy deed. In this case, Flurry Heart didn’t do anything yet, she’s an alicorn, not a princess. *SORTA SPOILER ALERT* it’s later proved that she accomplishes a “princess worthy deed” on one of the glass panels in the last episode, that is assumed to be when she is crowned princess of what I assume is the crystal empire.
Why the actual heck did Cadence and Shining decide "Let the TWO of us hoof our OVERPOWERED UNPREDICTABLE baby over to our ONE sister who we know has a tendency to freak out a bit when things go wrong" and on top of that show up unannounced? What if she hadn't been home or had been in some delegation meeting thingy? What if she was already burnt out from something?
Ehh, don't mind the haters, just watch it (G5) if you like, form your own opinion on it. (I think it gets overhated and misunderstood alot and I wish they could reset their expectations and try enjoying it for what it is.) Whether to make it a reaction, though. . . Mm, maybe do a poll on it? If your audience would like to see you react to it (regardless of what they think of the shows themselves)? Gen 5 is NOT that bad. The movie was REALLY good. The show starts off pretty bad, but it's had its moments. The problem is that it's inconsistent, and most of the songs from the show are super generic pop crap. It's sad the show is so mid, because the movie really was exceptionally good. It even got a lot of buzz from non bronies when it came out.
I remember enjoying the movie but then bouncing HARD off the high drop in quality for the first two episodes and haven't been able to muster the will to give it another shot since.

G5 is the reason I even started watching MLP in the first place and no it's my favorite show. I would recommend watching the movie first to see how you feel before diving into the show. I do believe the G5 movie is better than the G4, hot take I know.

I saw the New Gen movie and I liked it, but I decided not to continue, told myself that was it and I'm done. Felt like I left at the best time.

TLDR:
The reason people dislike flurry heart is because the shatters mlp lore and visual consistency for the sake of what feels like a cash grab by hasbro. It has nothing to do with her character, and everything to do with her existence.
First: she’s a newborn pony with regular pony eyes and massive wings that just don’t look right on her tiny frame. Her horn is also huge but less egregious. Its some kind of favoritism but regardless it feels wrong.
Second: her birth is a MASSIVE lore nugget that is never explained. Nobody knows why she was born an alicorn, and we never find out. The show brings it up like it’s something significant and then never follows up. Celestia and luna even react in the most vague way possible.
Third: in her debut episode, a season opener, she is a plot device. She is the discord/tirek/sombra/starlight/chrysalis level threat that it takes all the main 6, celestia, luna, cadence, shining armor, sunburst, and starlight to fix what she broke.
I don’t think its a bad season opener, and I don’t dislike flurry as a character. As for the fandom:
So imagine you’ve been following a show for 6 years that shows that alicorns are gods among men capable of moving celestial bodies, and shows that a select few who prove themselves worthy can be elevated to walk amongst those gods. The ads for the new season opener are touting all about how the new *royal baby* is born an alicorn, I repeat *born a god* . Seriously hyping up the introduction of this character. the fandom vibe I had going in was cautiously optimistic. Hoping for more lore on alicorns and expecting by the end to have at least one question answered. Hopefully celestia and luna will finally confirm that they too were born alicorns, or we can confirm, or at least have our ponies suspect that there’s a chance literal godhood is genetic. Nope. None. ZIP zilch nothing. Oh and, yknow those gods that there were only two of for at least almost 1000 years? the power of just four of wich is equal to every pony in equestria AND discord combined ? Yeah there’s one more now. Do you want to know about her? No, you don’t get an explanation. Did you want to wait patiently for episodes exploring her personal story? Sorry no, she’s a newborn. Did you want to wait for the season finale mayhaps, hoping that we would close the open questions 26 episodes later like we did the last 2 times? Too bad.
That’s why people really didn’t like flurry. They pulled out a massive wold-altering character, probably specifically to get a good rating on the season opener and sell toys, and then ignored her world-altering ness completely.
And you know what's arguably crazier? We might very well get some answers to our alicornundrums . . . IN G5!! And I don't know whether it's a blessing or a curse we have to see a different series to understand something like this! Eh, depending on who you ask, I suppose? Some of us actually don't see the new gen as a vat of inconsistencies and wasted potential. I for one enjoy the lore expansions and bridge between gens so far (yeah despite the huge time gap, major changes, and boatload of unanswered questions leaving us all in an Izzy tizzy 😅), and Tell Your Tale Season 2 has been doing more of that and is more consistent in quality compared to what came before. We very well might learn an ancient Alicorn secret once we get to Skyros! Can't wait! 🤩
(But try not to be disappointed if we don't get any answers, ok? There's still value in the gen as it is. Just like with G4 which had its own disappointments but is still beloved by alot of us.)
In answer to your questions about the new Gen of MLP... yeah, its kinda a mess. The movie was pretty good, but the show and the internet shorts that came after are all over the place. Some are decent, some are crap, some straight up contradict stuff from this gen. I'd say watch the movie and see where you wanna go from there
My personal reason for disliking Flurry Heart is because there was another character who was going to be the daughter of Cadence and Shining Armor named Skyla, who was a toy that was made a while ago alongside Larva, daughter of Queen Chrysalis. Flurry Heart not only looks very strange in comparison to what I had hoped, but I also didn’t want an Alicorn baby.
Yeah, the main reason I don't care for Flurry has to do with alicorn inflation.
Hell I'm still slightly annoyed about Cadence being an alicorn instead of just a unicorn like in the original script because it tramples over the uniqueness of Twilight's ascension and the whole theme of her becoming the third alicorn as a bridge between day and night reflecting both her name and how she reunited them in the first two episodes. All that thematic setup trashed by executive meddling.

To be honest, season 7 is like the most forgettable season for me. Don't get me wrong, it's not the worst, cause there's still season 8, but for some reason I can't recall any episode from this season
