At 13:00 you mention you are part of the 50 plus crowd. What's that? Also, got 41k going to roll over into an IRA and wondering if you would recommend at my age of 35 to put it as you distributed it on the excel or to maybe favor more of the first 2 and leave DIVO, JEPI for the future. Thank you. New subscriber.

A good portfolio should have three basic things: ETFs for diversification, dividend stocks for cash flow, and leading tech stocks. When starting especially with a lump sum, it's a good idea to talk to a fiduciary advisor for expert advice.

You don't need to find the next NVDA to succeed in investing. Just choose top-notch ETFs and partner with a financial advisor like I did. I turned $100k into $40,000 in annual dividends-a significant milestone for me today.

I hope that's not the case you should cost average into index funds for the long term at best if you're struggling with personal investing or sometimes it's even better to just hire a mutual fund manager. There's no shame over 90% of people people will underperform the index over the longer term the sp500 over a 20 year period has never lost a gain. Patience and steadiness is better than most TH-camrs stock recommendation.

Great advice here. Keep it simple, buy things you understand, take some risk but don’t try to shoot the lights out. Diversification is KEY! I use a CFA and it's a great hands off way to approach it, I conservatively follow *Lina Diniekiene's* recommendations and market entry and exit points, and tbh this makes it possible for me. Started in 2022 but with a lot of financial strength and in-depth research I did hit that coveted 100K and recently the 1m mark :)

I have found that what enables me to sleep at night is knowing that my capital is protected while I generate enough monthly income to subsidize my RMDs. In one of my retirement accounts I have done very well with the Windsor Admiral fund with Vanguard while using JEPI and most recently JEPQ for my monthly income. In my other retirement account I have SCHD, VIG, and using JEPI and JEPQ for my monthly RMDs. Silver is super volatile. It easily moves by at least 30 cents every day. So, if you're an experienced trader with knowledge of Elliot Waves, MACD, support/resistance, Moving Averages, DXY relationship to silver and technical analysis in general. You can make a great living with SLV.

@@wealthadventures Yes. Silver looks like it just finished wave 4 for the uptrend Elliot Waves started back at the lows of Sept. 1st of last year. This wave 4 seemed to be a triangle started on the peak of wave 3 on Jan. 3rd of this year. The triangle ending with a test of the 50 day EMA yesterday. I'm long from a few days ago. I'll probably be out by tomorrow. If a wave 5 is in the making, then the $25.50 level for silver is doable. But, I don't stay in it long. Once I select a good entry and the trade starts to go my way, I start to look for any reason for a decrease in the probability that the profits will continue to build. For me, it's usually 20 cents to 50 cents and I'm out. With silver, you get a lot of blow off indicative of 5th waves.
Volume for trading SLV is good. You can also trade it during Extended Hours, which is nice for getting in after appropriate news at the 8:30 AM ET hour. I trade it with my ROTH and regular IRA so I do cash trades, which limit the trading somewhat with a "T+2" settlement for trades.
Good luck. Let me know how it goes.

@@wealthadventures The wave before the open yesterday looks like it was the blow off 5th wave. The move up out of that month-long triangle.
The wave count is now clearer. The move to retest the 200 day EMA at close to $22 in silver at this point is a nice zigzag for the Elliot Wave 4 for the up trend that started on Sept. 1st from last year. The next move up should be wave 5 of that up trend. My target price is about $26 for that move. If you plot a 5 year chart, on a weekly, you can clearly see the 4 waves from around Sept. 1st. Next week should provide lots of opportunity for profitable, very short trades on at least a 50 cent rebound off the 200 day.
Luckily, DXY is in a bear market. The current rally for DXY for the past 2 days may be 2/3 done. Resistance at its 50 day EMA. But, do keep an eye on the dollar. At this point, silver is very dependent on what the dollar does. So, if it breaks above its 50 day EMA, that could put pressure on silver for a while.

Hi Rob. Great question and that is the primary reason I limit my investment. I'm digging myself to gain a better understanding. The idea of an ELN is simple enough (Invest $1000 - Buy a bond for $800 that returns your initial $1000, use the remaining $200 to buy a riskier asset such as a call option). However, for the yield they are providing the coupon rates on the ELNs need to be extremely high. Especially considering they make up a small portion of the total portfolio. Until I can work through the math (and explain it to others), I'll keep my exposure limited. No free lunch as they say!
