Love all of ur wood working...the table is absolutely gorgeous!! My husband committed suicide due to unresolved mental health issues. It's real folks. Don't mess around with depression. ❤
My husband gets down in the winter and we found out he had a severe D3 deficiency. So now he takes D3 every day and is much better. Some people don't realize it may not be depression but an underlying health issue such as my husband's. People need to check in with their doctor to run tests because it could be as simple as a D3 deficiency and not really depression. Vitamin D deficiency is a common ailment in our modern society. It affects older people more than younger ones. Replacement therapy is a simple matter but there are cautions that need to be considered. Vitamin D is a fat soluble vitamin. This means it needs fat to be absorbed. (That’s why it always comes that way either off the shelf or by prescription.) This also means that it is stored in the fat cells of the body long term. It doesn’t leave the body through the urine as easily as water soluble vitamins. This makes the potential for an overload of vitamin D to be a real issue. Ironically, an overload of vitamin D can mimic the signs of depression. Do NOT take more than the label suggests and have your doctor screen for it whenever you’re having blood labs done. Some people end up temporarily stopping taking it during the summer months because they are outside more. It is crucial for anyone who is taking it to get checked at least twice a year.
It makes total sense. I get bloodwork done roughly every six months and it’s so telling and has helped me with underlying issues like not producing enough folic acid. That helps with my energy level increase and takes care of thinking I’m suffering from depression symptoms although I truly have been treated for depression but my meds were any helping as much as they could because my body wasn’t fully absorbing them. Best thing my dr does for me is have basic bloodwork done twice a year. Things might need to be adjusted. It’s just so helpful.
@@jlow27 I’m not surprised that your energy level is low if you don’t have enough folic acid. It helps the body make red blood cells which carry oxygen throughout the bloodstream. Red blood cells also work with iron. Low iron levels can make a person lethargic. I’m sure your doctor is always checking this level as well. Fun fact: iron is absorbed into the blood better when taken with vitamin C or a fruit/veggie high in vitamin C than when taken alone.
@@MamaJLW I’ve heard that fun fact before and try to remember it but now I’m going to make it a point to. I work well with list and bullet points and reminders….until it becomes a habit which luckily it does. When he first did my bloodwork just over a year ago (he was a new dr but someone I actually went to HS with in the late 90s) he did a genetics test too and they both made sense. Blood tests showed I don’t produce enough folic acid the gen test showed what I did produce, my body didn’t process or absorb properly. It was amazing. So I’m like “gimme all the bloodwork” lol. I have my first mammogram (TMI?!?) scheduled in a week because it’s a little past the time for me to have it. I was so anxious about it but I just asked and the weight lifted off my shoulders. It’s silly but true; a small test now can make a difference in the future. Thanks for reinforcing what I was told with your own opinion. I’m always open to suggestions and fun facts lol!!

Love them all. The nativity is sweet. That table...just amazing. I am a retired mental health nurse and have been an advocate since the 70s. Even in my retirement I facilitate a group at my church for people living with mental health and addiction issues and their loved ones. Thank you for keeping mental health issues on the table!
I just cleaned out the garage and seriously so much of my holiday craft market inventory is scrap wood, and I still have so much! 🤣 For the tree shelf, it’s sometimes easier to assemble each level and then just put them all together instead of trying to contort yourself. I figured that out the hard way with a brad nail in my hand. 😳 Great job my friend, we all learn through the bloopers. 💜
I love your enthusiasm, smile, and craftsmanship. I have 5 adult children and 12 grandchildren. We have quite the gatherings at my house. I know you will enjoy your table. It is beautiful
That table runner is a fantastic idea that I need to copy. I’ve gotten frustrated and therefore lazy about keeping my kitchen table decorated for each holidays.
I love the little Nativity blocks. Your table is gorgeous. I hope your celebration was wonderful. I am so thankful that talking about mental health is no longer taboo. We have to treat it just like any other illness. You rock, Whitney!
I’m often searching my husband’s shop for “scrap” wood. He always says, “it’s not scrap if you can make something out of it”. 😂😂 so we’ve decided to call it scraft wood. I love your scraft wood projects!
Oh my gosh, Whitney, the table turned out so beautiful. Now I want to make one. I have all the tools already and really want to take this on! Thanks for sharing all the beautiful things you do!!!
Wow, that table is absolutely stunning. I got a farmhouse table. That looks almost identical to that only much darker stain for free that someone was giving away. I couldn’t believe it. Now I need to find chairs. What a great job you did.
I remember when Finn was born and you talking about the PPD, so glad you got help and pulled yourself out of it. Many of us women go through that. But 36 years ago when I had my daughter, no one talked about it or even recognized it. Thank you for speaking about it, someone needed to hear that today. Beautiful builds and gorgeous table. Happy Thanksgiving 🦃🍽 and God bless you and your family! 😊
Thank you Mary! I'm a big believer in speaking out about mental health struggles to help others. It's so lonely when you're in it! Happy Thanksgiving to you too!

Hello Whitney, I love, love, love your videos! I always look forward to seeing what you create! I love your sharing spirit and all things! I wish you and your family a very HAPPY THANKSGIVING and an early MERRY CHRISTMAS! 🎄🎅🏼🧑🏻🎄
Love this video as usual. Your table is beautiful and nothing will top the memories you made building it with some of the most important people in your life. You’re so amazing in so many ways and a huge inspiration. I suffer from severe PTSD and seasonal depression. The entire month of November through half on January is the worst time of year for me. Not just the seasons but the anniversary of my assault. This time of year only stirs up memories of trauma on top of trauma for me. It means so much to see you use your platform to attempt to remove the stigma of mental health. This will be the first year in over 12 years that I will actually spend the holidays with my family again. I have good intentions to celebrate with them but have never been able to really go through with it. I usually lock myself away and don’t even answer phone calls. I was diagnosed with cancer recently (my family doesn’t even know that yet) and I had an incident where I stopped breathing in September. It really has given me a huge wake up call. I need to spend as much time as possible with my family while I can. It’s not about me anymore. It has to be about them and I’ve wasted too much time already. I’ve spent over 12 years praying to die and end my constant pain. It’s ironic that it took a near death experience this year to make me realize how much I really want to live. I’m grateful that people are brave enough to speak out about the importance of mental health. So many people suffer silently. Others can’t help but show the signs that they aren’t the same or that they are suffering only to have the people closest to them never show concern or ask the important questions. Everyone matters. There are far too many people out there who honestly don’t feel like they do. That needs to change. Wishing you and yours a very Happy Thanksgiving. As always thanks so much for sharing. ❤
Love these projects so much, I had to watch it twice!! Your table turned out fantastic! My brother & I work on a project together fairly often. We discuss a lot of subjects while working - the time flies by! Thanks for sharing your talent with us.

So many people have many reasons for depression glad to know there is an organization to help others.
Okay I commented on the little table before I saw the big table. Oh my goodness you did such a beautiful job that's the kind of woodwork I love to see! I know you are a crafting Channel but the more woodwork you do the more I love to watch. I used to do a lot years ago and learned quite a bit by working with a finish Carpenter for a summer. It's amazing how I've used those techniques and also how to use the larger wood tools!
