I live in Florida my MB560 is 4 years old and kept outside under it's cover. No rust issues. My cover faded and I had to bypass my safety switches. I only had one grease fire because my dumbass did a pork butt and didn't clean the manifold below the grates and the drip pan before I did the next cook. I bought this pit because I can smoke fish and salt(160F) and crank it to 700F for reverse sears. You can also use charcoal, chunk or stick as your fuel. A full hopper will maintain 250 for 8-9 hours. If you're doing burgers or chicken pieces or brats I would only fill hopper with what I need as you waste fuel during shut down. If your don't have a Blackstone griddle I would buy the MB800. Otherwise pass on the 560 and get the MB1050. I still would highly recommend this pit four years later.
I’ve had a 560 for 4 years now. I’m on my second body. You got to keep these things clean between cooks or you’ll have a big fire that ruins the grill. It’s fantastic at smoking, good for grilling, not so great at searing. Trying to sear a fatty piece of meat will result in a big flair up.
I've bought the 560 and it holds Temp real well. But i thought that if you open the lid, ash bucket door, or the hopper lid. It was supposed to shut off. On mine you can hear the fan speed up and slow down periodically. Is that normal?
Man did you practie getting your voice pitch, tone and level the perfect level to make people fall asleep? Glad your not a teacher, those poor kids lol
Was thinking of going for full offset, but I love the ease of the 560 I already have… so think I may go for the 1050 as I need more space.
I have a 560 for a few years now and the only thing I regret is that it’s to small. Wish I went to the 800.

Does the 800 replacement have the griddle plate option, either as standard again or optional?, but it does look a quality upgrade.
