    Okay, I forgot to follow up! A few months ago JVR had a sale/promo so I got my Vac 110. It is indeed a nicer machine than my VP215. It's shocking how much quieter the Vac 110 is vs the VP215. I also love how much wider the seal bar is. It gives a lot more confidence in the seal. Lastly the bag clips are so incredibly useful! It's amazing how much they improve the process vs my VP215 that had no way to secure the bag while working it.
    FWIW the Vacmaster is by no means a bad machine, it's just been lapped by the competition. Circa 2024 there's no reason to buy a VP215 when the JVR has a better feature set and smoother operation. Plus, sealing retort pouches!

    Well I just took the plunge and took advantage of the “Vacfriday” deal and ordered the vac110. Coming from a food saver that has done a good job but is getting weaker.we have been making dog food and bagging it for the freezer a week at a time (30 bags). It gets a little messy with the wet food. I have noticed other bagged items lose the seal.looking for a upgrade when I seen your vids and after researching different chamber vac’s , I like the JVR approach and all the supplies that are available and the access to the components in the machine are a plus. It’s not if ,it’s when a failure occurs the ability to access the machine is a big plus.I was however torn between the 100 and the 110 but the canning is not as much as big deal over 16oz to me. Thank you for the work you do in bringing these comparisons to life and helping us choose when there is no machines to see work in person.

    Great video! I've had my VP215 for over ten years, maybe 12 or more? Mine absolutely will not seal retort pouches properly at all. My first machine worked for two months then "bricked"- it was replaced under warranty but I had to pay shipping back, well over $120. That said the replacement has been solid but it has a very very slow dripping oil leak, has for over a decade. The company seemed (back then ) to have good support but there are no consumer-replaceable parts save the oil. It works well but even at max vac time it still doesn't draw as much vacuum as it did new. I've gotten my money's worth out of it but when it finally gives up the ghost I'll replace it with a JVR Vac110.

    I have the VP215. No issues with it. Noise level is low. I seal bags and jars all day long. I use 3mil, 4mil, 5mil bags. The seal on the bags never ever break. Never heats up either. I have yet to find a better sealer.

    I’ve been sealing retort pouches with my vp215 since 2016. Same seal bar. No problems. I just measured my vp215’s seal bar and it’s a little over 10.6 inches.

    • @FireWaterCooking
      @FireWaterCooking  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The information I used is direct from both companies. Max bag size on the vp215 is 10 inches. Vacmaster also does not recommend sealing retort bags and it could void your warranty. Both are good machines, but they have some differences

      @@FireWaterCooking , Since I e had my vp215 for over 6 years, my warranty is a moot point. However, I have been sealing Retort pouches quite successfully for over 6 years now. I also seal PackFresh’s gallon 7mil gusseted bags which are 10.25 with on the seal edge and I have room leftover on the sides of my seal bar.
      I’m not saying a vp215’s for everyone. They’re expensive. Even 6 years ago mine was expensive. But… This things a Workhorse. I have 4 freeze dryers that run 24/7. I run a minimum of 40 vacuum cycles a day on this thing and have since I got it and my fd’rs in 2016. I still have the same seal bar.
      I’ve heard great things about both camber vacs you tested and think that each has their own attributes. 😃

    Good afternoon, I have a VACMASTER model SVP 20 vacuum machine which, when starting up, seems to be stuck and triggers the breakers. I think they may be the start or run capacitor, but I don't have the values for these since they were painted and You can't see their values, I measured them with a capacitor and one measures 100Mf and the other 40Mf but I don't know if those are their real values. I thank you if you know the value of these capacitors, help me with that information, thank you in advance.

    Sir, what are your thoughts on the Zwilling Handheld Vacuum? Could you do an comparison “The Zwilling against your favorite Commercial Vacuum machine” perhaps?
    If the Zwilling’s vacuum is not quite perfect, then how effective is it? Especially compared to the commercial machines.
    Would be very informative if you could go into the details of the limitations of the Zwilling

    • @FireWaterCooking
      @FireWaterCooking  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      any and all hand held vacuum systems are garbage. they require bags that are expensive, and they lose their vacuum all the time. I would not compare them to either channel or chamber sealers because they are very limited on what they can or cant do and the bags are horrible.... they are made to be cheap and limited use items

      You can’t seal smooth bags, mylar or retort bags with a foodsaver. You can only use channel (textured) bags.

      I had gone through 4 foodsavers (over $1000) within 5 years and on all the vacuum pumps failed on each just after the warranty ended. I have had my Vacmaster VP-210 for 8 years now and not a single problem yet. The bags for the foodsaver cost about 25-50 cents each while the chamber vacuum bags cost 2-20 cents each.
