Dear brothers and sisters, as we approach the blessed month of Ramadan, Allah (SWT) gives us a beautiful opportunity to cleanse our hearts and seek His mercy. The Prophet Muhammad (SAW) emphasized the importance of fasting on Mondays and Thursdays, not just for spiritual growth, but also as a means to remove enmity and hatred from our hearts.
In this powerful reminder, we reflect on how shahna (hatred and spite) can block us from Allah’s forgiveness and how shirk (associating partners with Allah) distances us from His mercy. The Prophet (SAW) taught that on the 15th night of Sha’ban, Allah looks at His creation and forgives all except those who associate partners with Him and those who hold enmity in their hearts.
How do we prepare our hearts for Ramadan? How can we let go of resentment and embrace reconciliation? Join us in this important discussion as we learn the significance of emptying our hearts from grudges to make room for the love of Allah and His Messenger (SAW).
Key Topics Discussed:
The virtue of fasting on Mondays and Thursdays
The significance of the 15th night of Sha’ban
The connection between shirk (polytheism) and shahna (hatred)
How hatred can consume and distance us from Allah
The importance of seeking forgiveness and reconciling relationships
