I can't help but think how blessed - spoiled, really - we are with all these different styles, translations, and bindings. Some people don't even have a Bible in their language. God help us to be IN our Bibles more often, reading and obeying!

I think that the Heirloom is a great addition to the Bible arsenal for anyone who loves premiums. It’s definitely a Bible you want to take with you in your bag and might have to “baby” it. Overall a great review and I would love to get one of these...in about 10 years according to my wife. I bought an Omega and let’s just say “I’m good” in the Bible department. 😂
I've got the Study Bible ESV ("The Sword"), and the Personal Reference ESV ("The Knife") :)
I am waiting for my ESV Wide Margin Red Letter to be delivered, it is definitely going to be my Journaling Bible. I also have a Personal Size Red Letter Large Print ESV that I use for church. I am not the biggest fan of the Black Letter text, but I do use the ESV Personal size Study Bible along side my daily Bible for references.
I have noticed that blue goatskin Bibles tend to be a bit stiffer and take a longer time to break in whereas black are usually softer from the get go and break in really fast. I’m sure there is an explanation like the dye or something.
I just bought the personal size reference bible for $12.99 on christianbook, definitely a steal. I probably would’ve gotten the thinline reference, but it has the references on the bottom of the page, rather than in the gutters which I just find annoying for some reason😂 the thinline reference does have maps, but I agree with you, maps aren’t necessary imo

I know some people don’t like references, but I thought in the gutter was a good spot, I don’t even notice them but they are there when I want it. I’ve had both of these Bibles...the cheap one has significantly less ghosting than the Heirloom. The ghosting was so awful through and between letters of the words I was trying to read that I had the send it back to evangelical bible...I then proceeded to do what I should have done in the first place, get one of their PSQs. The Personal Size Single Column from Crossway is less than $20, line matched and is readable. Ghosting is minimal. It is a great Bible.
How does the paper on the blue goatskin heirloom compare to the paper on that personal size reference trutone?
I would like to make a suggestion :) Have you ever toured a manufacturer/publisher of these? To see the process of making them? Or how they lay the bibles out for publishing? This is in regard to the comparison you made between the two and how they don't line up page wise. I, for one, would actually like to see a tour or the work going into publishing a bible. Like the painting on of the guilding. Or how the pages are laid out for each one. A factory tour I guess. We see the bibles in their finished state but I am curious about the making of the bible. You may have already done something like this but it would be interesting.

Aw, hating on maps? 😂 I like having a map when a preacher is in an OT passage with a lot of cities named. Otherwise, it's too distracting if I use a phone.
That shade of blue art gilt is nice. Would like to see your review of the blue goatskin Heirloom Thinline if possible, wonder if the paper is the same or better than the personal size Heirloom. I agree, I don't want to have to baby my bibles either, I prefer to use them like workhorses 🤷🏻♀️

I’m new to your channel, is the ESV, your number one recommended translation? Here’s the ones I like ESV, NASB, NKJV, CSB, NIV and KJV So I’m trying to come down to one translation that I’m going to have as my main go to bible and maybe have a second favorite bible. What would be recommend as a main go to bible? and what would be your second choice?

All I want is an ESV thinline, either larger print (9ish) or at least without that horrible show through, that also has the book introductions! I don't need maps, a concordance, or even references. But I do like the book intros. But as far as I've seen, it does not exist.

Those two wouldn’t match I feel, the preachers bible page layout is bigger(more words on the page i guess or more letters on each line). The omega feels cramped to me with the line spacing I wonder if that personal size is better with that. Thanks
