I actually LOVE fruitcake and have eaten it all my life. My late mom used to make it years ago and she used moonshine to preserve it. She was born and raised in east Tennessee and that was normal. You two had me laughing so hard in the beginning. There was the fruitcake on the table in front of you and you acted like you were afraid of it! I am glad you liked it however!
Fruitcake is great when made correctly. I also loved a twice baked fruitcake recipe that is made like biscotti. It keeps for very long number of months and is very full of nutrition.
I'm not a fruit cake fan but my husband loves it. Your tree and home is so beautiful, just recently came across you guys, love your videos! Look forward to what you share next.
I make it most years. One big change is I don't use that candied fruit. I'm sensitive to food coloring, and it has preservatives. So I just use regular dried fruit. The booze i use changes every year. This year it's brandy. It's a lot of calories and I have to watch that, so what I make will probably last past Easter.
I remember my Grandma reaching back in her freezer for a piece of fruitcake she had saved from her wedding in 1918. She did that for 70 years. We knew it meant something special to her, a tradition. Bless her. Thanks for bringing back these memories. May the Lord bless you this Christmas.
I love fruitcake with coffee..smaller slices for sure! Texas has Collin Street Fruit cakes and they are amazing! I store mine in the freezer!! Thanks for sharing!! AND we loved Dollywood! Ate at Aunt Grannys..yum!
I'm one-half German, and our fruitcake (Stollen) is very delicious, and quite different than the fruitcake my British-born husband is used to. Stollen is especially delicious lightly toasted under the broiler and a bit of butter on it. It's definitely worth trying.
That looks really good. I love the no bake icebox fruitcakes that my grandmere Rose used to make. Graham Cracker crumbs, those little cherries in the jar ( I can't remember the name) crushed pineapple, raisins, pecans and a can of condensed milk. Sometimes she added coconut. You mix it all up by hand, let it set overnight and cut it up. It's so dang good
The only fruit cake that I loved to eat was my grandmas one that she would make. For us kids she would brush orange juice over it every day for about a week and it would help to make it moist and give it a good flavor for the adult one she would brush it with brandy.
Thank you for the wonderful memories you brought back! we had 3 A&P markets in our town, along with a huge distribution center in the next town. My dad LOVED Jane Parker fruitcakes, I can remember the tins they came in, each slice was more fruit and nuts than cake. was never a favorite of mine, it was the ritual of bringing 2 of them home from A&P and seeing how happy it made my dad. after coming home from working 2 jobs, his treat was to sit with a large glass of milk and slice of fruitcake. I have had black fruitcake at a Caribbean wedding, it was given to us as a favor, wrapped in a little box. The aunties had begun making it months before by soaking the fruit for 3 months in 100 proof of rum, very rich and potent with the rum! The last Christmas my dad enjoyed a fruitcake, it was a Claxton brand since A&P closed up, he enjoyed it as always
Thanks for sharing your memories with us. We have enjoyed reading the comments from everyone and so glad, so many have shared their memories of the fruit cake with us.😎😎
Watched earlier and saw Johnny Carson and it was great. I like fruitcake and ordered a Collins from Texas but didn't try as we are in Gatlinburg and trying many new things because of your vlogs. We have been coming to the Smokies for 20 years, but the last 15 spend most of our time in Townsend and Cades Cove trying to get that better photograph. Lol. I'm 61 and tried the goats on the roof coaster at my husbands urging. We both loved it and will do another next time. Our 12 day vacation is coming to an end, we want to beat the snow back to PA. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. (Saw our card we sent on your vlog.)
Thank you so much for card. TH-cam copyrighted the one earlier today after being uploaded for 3 days before I released it and had it up for 2 hours before I received email so I had to delete it. Took him out and uploaded again. Have a Merry Christmas and we appreciate the card. 😎😎
I was married in 1987...the tradition then and many years before this was for thr Bride and Groom to walk around after the reception dinner and carry a basket of small individually wrapped pieces of fruitcake and thank everyone for honoring them with their presence at their wedding...ours had marzipan icing on it and was very traditional fruitcake very heavy with raisins...not my favourite...I don't think it is done nowadays and not sure when this stopped being a tradition...I wonder how many got thrown away...I live in Southern Ontario Canada...I like my Mom's fruitcake recipe she used to make every Xmas and still have the recipe but have no desire to make it myself...thanks for sharing and Merry Christmas to you both and your family.🎅🛷🦌❄️☃️🎄
Thanks for sharing your story. It is so interesting to hear what other people's traditions are. I have enjoyed hearing everyone's stories. Many Christmas 😎😎
Two of the best fruitcakes are from Assumption Abbey (made by monks in MO) and Collin Street Bakery in TX. They're on the high end but super moist and delicious. They both come in tins. Thanks so much for all your very entertaining videos! Happy Holidays!
I remember not liking fruitcake as a child but a friend gave me the recipe for Christmas cookies and they are DELICIOUS. The recipe makes 6 to 7 dozen cookies & they freeze very well.
I love Fruitcake ... always have, but I don't get it very often any longer. There is a really good place in Texas that makes delicious Fruit Cakes, I think it's called Collin's Street Bakery, my brother in-law has sent a few and we've really enjoyed them. Thanks for sharing your taste test with us. Merry Christmas!
LOL!! What memories here! My mom was German and Portuguese..she made her own fruitcake and used figs, dates, pineapple, coconut and i remember it was a very dark cake -my mom used molasses and would add dark rum! And yes-all us kids loved it!! LOL!..she made many as gifts also.I have tried this one you are eating and i don't care for those red and green cherry(thingy's)..LOL! Thank you two for bringing back more memories for me! I love your videos.Merry Christmas to you both!🎄
I did see this earlier and loved the Johnny Carson clips especially the first one (the one at the end was great too) but I have a different sense of humor. The first one was hysterical. I guess there is no freedom of anything anymore. Thanks for the memories. I am in my early 60's and loved "Here's Johnny". In today's world I'm sure Carson would be arrested, sued and thrown in prison/jail. Those new guys after Leno and Letterman retired aren't even that funny. But back to fruitcakes. I remember my grandparents making both a light and dark fruitcake every Xmas. They started months before Xmas and wrapped it in rum (I think) and stored it in the cellar. They were delicious and I loved them. They spent a lot of time and money (even back then) on those fruitcakes. It was truly a labor of love. Thanks for the memories.
I know the Johnny Carson clips were funny. You are right it would be a labor of love. Because they do put a lot of time into making those fruit cakes. This one I did enjoy. I'm glad we tried it.😎😎
I HAVENT’T TRIED FRUIT CAKE IN AGES EITHER. I REMEMBER NOT LIKING IT AS A CHILD. THE WALMART ONE DID NOT LOOK BAD. I MIGHT EVEN GET ONE. HOPE YOU HAVE A WONDERFUL HOLIDAY AND THANK YOU FOR ALL THE GREAT VIDEOS DURING THE YEAR. I REMEMBER WATCHING YOU FOR HOURS WHEN I HAD COVID. MERRY CHRISTMAS AND HAPPY NEW YEAR!
The white icing on fruit cake is marzipan made from ground almonds and icing sugar, this was usually covered and decorated with royal icing, the marzipan stopped the colour of the fruit from bleeding and discoloring the very decorative icing!
This was a fun video! My Mom loved fruitcake and would always buy the bar size because the rest of us didn't like it! She would eat it with a cup of tea. Mom passed away 3 years ago so this brought back memories...thank you! I will go buy one to try and see if I like it any better! Merry Christmas to you and your family!!🎄
I had a fruit cake that only had pineapple and macadamia nuts in it. No rum at all. It was delicious. I think it was from the Swiss Colony. This was like 30 years ago and I still remember how absolutely delicious it was.
Growing up in the 60's our local grocery store was A&P. :) I hadn't heard that name in years! I always thought that fruitcakes were made with bourbon. Kinda wanna try one now lol.
I haven’t tried fruitcake since I was a kid, and I remember not liking it. After watching your video I now want to try one! It looked really good as y’all were eating it! Great video! Merry Christmas! 🎄
Trying to get caught up watching your videos, I love fruitcake, my mom always bought Claxton fruitcake and I just bought one about a month ago from Walmart, my grandmother use to put marshmallows in hers. Thanks for the video y'all, Merry Christmas and God Bless
I don't think I've ever heard anyone say they put marshmallows in the fruitcake. I love reading the comments on how people make their fruitcake. Merry Christmas 😎😎
My mom before she passed away last year she made great fruit cake I couldn't eat nuts so she'd make it special without nuts and her fruit cake wasn't heavy but it wasn't light I know she used rum and sugar a few years back she took some down to assistant living home where my aunt was and she had to dish out almost the whole entire fruitcake because everybody wanted some it was a big hit I miss her and her cooking and her fruit cake
I like a good moist, flavorful fruitcake! Not a hard, dry & tasteless cake that is basically a brick! Years ago Claxton fruitcakes from GA use to be good. Not anymore. Several mail order ones from The Swiss Colony or a Texas Co. are very good. The best ones here in Fla are from Publix. Very moist & loaded with dried fruits & nuts. Have to try the Walmart brand. Thanks for the review. Have a blessed Christmas!
From my house, to yours have a Blessed Christmas and a Blessed New Year.. I haven't tried any fruit since my childhood, I might try to again of the opportunity arises.
Growing up my mom and dad always had fruit cake on the table for Christmas. I still enjoy a nice piece with a hot cup of tea. My favorite is just with walnuts and raisins I could do without those hard cherries on top tho. 🤣
Merry Christmas to you both and your family. Back in the 1960's and early 1970's our local fire company Goodwill Fire Co. #1 in West Fairview, PA sold Claxton Fruit Cakes and Christmas trees for their December fund raisers. CLAXTON FRUIT CAKES ARE THE BEST. They are always moist. My single mom raised my brother and me by cleaning houses and doing our neighbors laundry. So each year all her customers got a Claxton fruit cake and a can of hard candy from the local veterans. Here's to Happy Trails and safe travel in 2023.
I just wanna say thank you guys for making these videos I never really had parents to go anywhere with and this is like going out to eat with mom and dad it makes me feel happy but thank you it may just be food reviews but you guys do more than you know merry Christmas.
I just ordered one from The Vermont County Store. It is so good. Packed full of pecans. They have the chocolate fruit cake too. I like that store because they have all the old timey things. Y'all ought to take a trip there one time.
Great video! I haven't had Fruitcake in years. Now I'm going to go to Walmart and get one of those. It looked so delicious! A piece with a cup of coffee when I get off of work would be so nice! Have a Merry Christmas!
I do mine 3 months in advance and feed it with brandy. One for Christmas and one for new year. I'm in England UK. We also have a Christmas pudding which is heavily fruited that has brandy and cider in.
Prince William and Catherine Middleton had a fruit cake at their wedding in 2011, a royal tradition. Their 3 feet high fruit cake had a soft frosting, instead of the traditional royal frosting.
Attended my pen pal’s wedding in England back in 1992. Her wedding cake was a fruitcake. I was told that it was tradition. By the way, I love fruitcake. My mom made the best tasting one ever. My brother, who was born 9 years after me, wouldn’t touch it with a 9 foot pole! 😂
Lawd have mercy, I can't remember the last time I had a piece of fruitcake. My grandmother used to make one every year for Christmas when I was a kid and I remember thinking it was thick and sickeningly sweet. I'm open to trying it again though because I was super picky back in the day. Y'all have inspired me to go buy a fruitcake!
Love fruitcake, especially the darker type with a layer of marzipan on top. Don't know if it's a British thing, but it's what my parents would always get. Sending you best wishes for a happy holiday from Canada.
@@jbinthehills sorry, when I said "don't know if it's a British thing" I meant just the version with marzipan on top. Haven't seen it in the States. 🎅 🎄
I have made my own fruitcake. I only like fruitcake with NO alcohol. My recipe tastes like a pound cake with lots of fruits and nuts. I candy my own pineapple for the cake. Back in the day, many fruitcakes contained citron (candied fruit peels). Citron tastes gross, IMO. My fruitcake recipe is called White Fruitcake, and it’s very labor-intensive.
@@jbinthehills Funny story about the White Fruitcake recipe. It was given to me by my mother-in-law, but sadly she passed in 1996. One Christmas about 10 years after she died, I remembered she told me the recipe appeared in a newspaper in Central Illinois, so I contacted them and they searched it and found it, then featured me in an article about the fruitcake. It’s a very delicious cake. I’m 76 y o now, but have baked since I was about 10 or so and joined 4-H. I still enjoy making treats for people. My brownies are legendary, not to boast or anything. 🤪
Well, I guess we're going to have to give fruitcake a second chance. Haven't tried it for many years. Great video and review! Thanks for sharing and safe travels!
Yall are too funny 😁 😂 😀 My Dad made fruit cake every year (fresh) He didn't drink so no alcohol! But THE smell of it cooking..... Then eating it warm...... I miss it! 😢
I adored my mamas fruit cake, she would make an amazing cake that had a kilo of dried fruit and it had brandy in it, she made it in october and every week would spoon more brandy on it. Surprisingly I don't remember feeling drunk when eating it as a kid. I'm going to make it to her recipe next Christmas to commemorate my sweet mama. ❤
My grandmother used to make the absolute best fruit cake. I can only take it in little bites. Now, I purchase one Claxton small bar of fruit cake, I get one each year from Walmart, for about $6.00. It satisfies my craving for this cake. Also, in England, the traditional Wedding Cake, was a fruit cake (Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip, was served at their wedding).
I love fruit cake. My dad used to buy the Claxton brand when I was a kid, and I still buy it every Christmas. I have tried the Walmart kind, but I didn't care for it.
I love fruit cake! LoL ... I'm the only one in my family that does so at the end of the holiday I have several to take home! LoL. I never have to purchase them.
I think fruit cake is more for an adult taste no so much for kids cause I didn't like them either but yall make me want to try another One now that I'm grown I'm going to Walmart! Lol! Love your channel! Have yall ever thought about cooking videos where you share your favorite recipes and meals??
I have done a few cooking videos. There is the link to three videos if you want to watch them. th-cam.com/video/ig2y1Lyf0aQ/w-d-xo.html. th-cam.com/video/OuPAs_CHpX0/w-d-xo.html. th-cam.com/video/xC0A6DHG1Xw/w-d-xo.html
Love this video I was watching your faces as you both tryed the cake Lol!! It’s funny how lots of people always make fun of it I also never liked it because I believe it had rum in it I’m glad you guys enjoyed it I probably would’ve liked that one also but it’s not on the top of my list if I’m going to splurge and have calories chocolate cake always wins Lol! Thanks for being good sports and trying it it was a cute little video merry Christmas you have a beautiful home!
Can you even buy Imperial Brown Sugar anymore?? I know you can get the butter sticks, but I have not seen the brown sugar but then again, I have not looked for it. My parents used to get Fruitcakes as Christmas gifts and then threw them away after the Holidays. Lol 😆😅🤣 I guess they weren't big on fruit and probably why I am not...Hahaha. Anyway, thanks for the video as always! It was enjoyable! 😄Btw....Loved your shirts and Nativity picture John & Bobbie! Merry Christmas! ✝🎄🎅🎁☃
John you cracked us up with your comments!! 😂 Bobbie , he made you go first 😂 Regarding weddings having fruitcakes? The Royal weddings such as Dianna & Charles & even William & Kates wedding cakes were all fruit cakes Royalty tradition Glad you enjoyed your cake!! Happy Holidays to you & yours Judy & John.
My grandma used to make fruitcake, and my dad and I didn't like it. But, now. . . I'm going to go to the store and get one, just for me! And as always, excellent video!
@@jbinthehills I couldn't find one! 😭. And maybe all of the bad feelings/press towards fruitcake can be laid at the feet of Johnny Carson, who probably hated fruitcake.
Merry Christmas to u guys I've all ways thought the fruit cake was nasty and never tried one that's like spenage dip I finally tryed it now I love it with pupper Nichol bread
Our memaw use to make orange slice cake &it was delicious and alot of work to it but we lost her to covid last yr so were going to miss that cake itnwas similar to a fruit cake though 👍
That was hilarious, however, no RUM, no fruitcake. The one I tried years and years and years ago must have had a pint of rum in it. Needless to say, all you could taste was the rum. Very Merry Christmas to ya'll. Be safe.
My mom used to love them but she would pick the cherries out lol Dad loves the light fruitcake. I am pretty indifferent about it. I dont love it or hate it. lol But i guess i could do without it.
I love fruit cake I have a good recipe and while hot I pour on rum, and wrap it up. Stays moist and good! I have a simple recipe using Duncan Hines cake mix and candied fruit and nuts and raisins. The best I ever had, recipe is from Duncan Hines. The rum is not in the recipe, and I don’t use a lot.
Yes they copyrighted Johnny Carson after 3 days when I uploaded it. Released it today and it was ok for 2 hours. It’s never done that before since we started using old footage in the videos. Loved the Johnny Clip glad you saw it
Just like you guys, haven't had fruitcake in about 40 years, but after seeing this review, I'm going to Walmart and pick one up, fingers crossed that I'll like it!
My Daddy loved fruit cake. Now I actually won a fruit cake about 5 years ago as a gag gift in a Christmas party at work. A coworker wanted to hold it and he said he could use it to lift weights. But I’m not a fan of fruit cake but I guess it has memories for many
The best fruitcake? Collin St. Bakery in Corsicana, TX. I've been getting one almost every year for many, many years. It ain't cheap, but it's the best.
I sincerely apologize to you both.. my boyfriend of many years has cancer and starts chemo tomorrow. I am so worried. We both love your videos. Please just send him a prayer 🙏
We are so sorry to hear that. We will definitely say a prayer for him. My mom is a survivor of breast cancer, not once but twice. The doctors told us We should thank heaven for her being here. So I do believe in prayer.😎😎
Great video guy’s 👍 I actually really like Fruit Cake. So if you don’t want it send it my way, lol Now I will have to say, I don’t like the ones with alcohol because it takes away from the sweetness of the cake.
I like the Japanese fruit cakes because it has more nuts than fruit. Theres also refrigerator fruit cake which base is eagle brand milk and crushed vanilla wafers and coconut, jared cherries ,lots of pecans and made in a loaf pan. Its my favorite of all The lady in you tube collard valley. Cooked a regular fruit cake on her channel that has no alcohol if you want to check her channel out.?

Oh wow! You me an idea because they sell 'shine at the liquor store now- all kinds of flavors like apple! I'm going to do that next year!
I think we're afraid what it was going to taste like. Thanks for sharing how your mother made the fruit cake.😎😎

Seniors seem to really love fruitcake. My grandparents certainly did.
I bet your mother did make a good fruit cake. Thank you so much for sharing your story about her with us.😎😎
I like a good moist, flavorful fruitcake!
Let us know if you get one from Walmart. Merry Christmas 😎😎
From my house, to yours have a Blessed Christmas and a Blessed New Year.. I haven't tried any fruit since my childhood, I might try to again of the opportunity arises.
Merry Christmas to you and your family 😎😎
Growing up my mom and dad always had fruit cake on the table for Christmas. I still enjoy a nice piece with a hot cup of tea. My favorite is just with walnuts and raisins I could do without those hard cherries on top tho. 🤣
The cherries in this cake weren't very hard. Thanks for watching.😎😎
Great video guys did not realize all the info about fruit cakes!
Thank you, Mike.😎😎
Fruit cake is yummy we eat them all year in uk …but Christmas cake is gorgeous ..we put brandy in it !
Fruit cake is popular Christmas time here. Thanks for watching and commenting.😎😎
Love your Christmas decorations! 🎄❤️💚😃
Thank you 😎😎
Merry Christmas to you both and your family.
Thanks for watching and sharing your story. Merry Christmas 😎😎
Thanks for trying this for us! ❤🎄💚
You are welcome. It was good. 😎😎
I just wanna say thank you guys for making these videos I never really had parents to go anywhere with and this is like going out to eat with mom and dad it makes me feel happy but thank you it may just be food reviews but you guys do more than you know merry Christmas.
Thank you for your kind words. We appreciate you watching. Merry Christmas 😎😎
I didn’t like fruit cake as a child, I’ll give it a try. Merry Christmas! J&B.
Give it one more try. Merry Christmas 😎😎
I just ordered one from The Vermont County Store. It is so good. Packed full of pecans. They have the chocolate fruit cake too. I like that store because they have all the old timey things. Y'all ought to take a trip there one time.
I bet the chocolate fruit cake would be good.😎😎
Great video! I haven't had Fruitcake in years. Now I'm going to go to Walmart and get one of those. It looked so delicious! A piece with a cup of coffee when I get off of work would be so nice! Have a Merry Christmas!
I'm glad we tried the fruitcake again. Merry Christmas.😎😎
Love your videos! I look every day for some I haven't seen. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
Thank you. We appreciate you watching. Merry Christmas 😎😎
I do mine 3 months in advance and feed it with brandy. One for Christmas and one for new year. I'm in England UK. We also have a Christmas pudding which is heavily fruited that has brandy and cider in.
I bet the pudding would be good. Thanks for watching and commenting 😎😎
Prince William and Catherine Middleton had a fruit cake at their wedding in 2011, a royal tradition.
Their 3 feet high fruit cake had a soft frosting, instead of the traditional royal frosting.
I'll have to look it up and see if I can see their wedding cake.😎😎
Attended my pen pal’s wedding in England back in 1992. Her wedding cake was a fruitcake. I was told that it was tradition.
By the way, I love fruitcake. My mom made the best tasting one ever. My brother, who was born 9 years after me, wouldn’t touch it with a 9 foot pole! 😂
I love hearing all the stories people have about the fruitcake. Thanks for sharing yours.😎😎
We never liked them growing up, either. But this one we did enjoy. Let us know if you try one again.😎😎
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from Mississippi!
Merry Christmas to you and your family 😎😎
Love fruitcake, especially the darker type with a layer of marzipan on top. Don't know if it's a British thing, but it's what my parents would always get. Sending you best wishes for a happy holiday from Canada.
Fruitcake is a tradition for a lot of people. Merry Christmas 😎😎
@@jbinthehills sorry, when I said "don't know if it's a British thing" I meant just the version with marzipan on top. Haven't seen it in the States. 🎅 🎄
Thanks again brings back memories I have tried one for 40 years maybe I will some day
We will probably try other fruitcakes now. Is glad it brought back good memories for you.😎😎
I have made my own fruitcake.
That sounds good. It is a labor of love.😎😎
@@jbinthehills
Funny story about the White Fruitcake recipe. 🤪
Merry Christmas - really enjoy your channel
Glad you enjoy our channel. We appreciate you watching. Merry Christmas 😎😎
Love your holiday plates.
Thank you. My sister bought me those plates about nine years ago.😎😎
Well, I guess we're going to have to give fruitcake a second chance. Haven't tried it for many years. Great video and review! Thanks for sharing and safe travels!
Glad we gave it a second try. Let us know if you get one or what you think about it.😎😎
What a fun video! That fruit cake looked good. I may have to buy one. Merry Christmas you two!🎄
Glad you enjoyed the video. Merry Christmas 😎😎
Bobby, that was so funny when you said I wonder if that was the fruitcake my grandmother gave me 😂
The fruitcake at my grandmother's was terrible. And I think it was because it had rum in it.😎😎
Good evening 🌆 sir & lady! Beautiful 🌲!
Hello. 😎😎
Yall are too funny 😁 😂 😀
My Dad made fruit cake every year (fresh) He didn't drink so no alcohol!
But THE smell of it cooking.....
Then eating it warm......
I miss it! 😢
Thanks for sharing your memory of our Dad.😎😎
I adored my mamas fruit cake, she would make an amazing cake that had a kilo of dried fruit and it had brandy in it, she made it in october and every week would spoon more brandy on it. Surprisingly I don't remember feeling drunk when eating it as a kid. I'm going to make it to her recipe next Christmas to commemorate my sweet mama. ❤
Thanks for sharing your story about your mom and how she made her fruitcake. 😎😎
We thought the fruitcake was very good. By the comments I see a fruit cake is very popular in England.😎😎
I love fruit cake. My dad used to buy the Claxton brand when I was a kid, and I still buy it every Christmas. I have tried the Walmart kind, but I didn't care for it.
Thanks for letting us know what you thought about the Walmart fruit cake. We always like to hear other people's opinions of things we review.😎😎
I love fruit cake! LoL ... I'm the only one in my family that does so at the end of the holiday I have several to take home! LoL. I never have to purchase them.
That is funny. 😎😎
Great video guys.
Thank you 😎😎
Very informative…thanks!
Thanks for watching 😎😎
Love the Heat Miser T-shirt! I love fruitcake with cream cheese spread on it.🤤
We might have to try cream cheese on it.😎😎
I think fruit cake is more for an adult taste no so much for kids cause I didn't like them either but yall make me want to try another
One now that I'm grown I'm going to Walmart!
We thought the cake was pretty good. But like you we would prefer chocolate cake. Merry Christmas 😎😎
I've had fruit cake like that, its really good, if you like candied fruit. Your supposed to pick at it with tea or coffee. lol I love it.
This one was good. Glad we tried it.😎😎
I like fruitcake...very small piece with a cup of coffee or tea...yum!
Coffee would be good with the fruitcake.😎😎
Tammy loves your xmas decor and would love to see a house tour. Hope Santa brings Bobbie the Mrs Beasley doll and John gets more shirts.
I would love to get a Mrs. Beasley doll.😎😎
I don't know if you can buy Imperial brunch sugar anymore or not. It's funny they threw the fruitcake away. Merry Christmas. 😎😎
@@jbinthehills 😆🤣
John you cracked us up with your comments!! 😂
Bobbie , he made you go first 😂
Regarding weddings having fruitcakes?
The Royal weddings such as Dianna & Charles & even William & Kates wedding cakes were all fruit cakes
Royalty tradition
Glad you enjoyed your cake!!
Happy Holidays to you & yours
Judy & John.
Thanks for the information Judy. We were surprised how good this one tasted.😎😎
My grandma used to make fruitcake, and my dad and I didn't like it. But, now. . . I'm going to go to the store and get one, just for me!
And as always, excellent video!
Thank you. Let us know if you get a fruitcake and if you like it.😎😎
@@jbinthehills I couldn't find one! 😭. And maybe all of the bad feelings/press towards fruitcake can be laid at the feet of Johnny Carson, who probably hated fruitcake.
I moreover fan of cold miser than heat miser, Merry Christmas
We like Snow Miser too. Merry Christmas 😎😎
I am going to go get a fruitcake at Walmart. That looked so good. It’s been years since I have had fruitcake, we used to get the ones by Claxton.
We thought their fruitcake was pretty good. But I still choose chocolate over it.😎😎
Merry Christmas to u guys I've all ways thought the fruit cake was nasty and never tried one that's like spenage dip I finally tryed it now I love it with pupper Nichol bread
Merry Christmas to you and your family. .😎😎

Was in England went to a wedding it had 3 different cakes and fruit cake was one of them wrapped in fondant
Thanks for watching and commenting 😎😎
My father in law always wrapped fruit cake in a rag soaked in bourbon or rum, I can’t remember which, but it was good.
I just don't like the taste of rum. But I think most of the fruitcakes are made with it😎😎.
God bless you.
Thank you 😎😎
That was hilarious, however, no RUM, no fruitcake. The one I tried years and years and years ago must have had a pint of rum in it. Needless to say, all you could taste was the rum. Very Merry Christmas to ya'll. Be safe.
I don't like the fruit cakes that have the rum in it. Merry Christmas😎😎
Yes!J.& B! I was a girl when i was 12 years old! Just like y & said,over 40 years!
Thank you for watching 😎😎
Hi J&B, enjoyed you with the fruitcake!!🤣🤣🤣
Thank you 😎😎
Love you guys 🥰
Thank you 😎😎
I am going to try fruit cake again. Thank you guys
Let us know if you try it.😎😎
My mom used to love them but she would pick the cherries out lol Dad loves the light fruitcake. I am pretty indifferent about it. I dont love it or hate it. lol But i guess i could do without it.
I like the cherries in the fruitcake. I'm glad we tried it. 😎😎
Thanks for telling us about that recipe. I will have to check it out.😎😎
I'm like u guys. Fruitcake is not for me. Maybe I just havent tried one in yrs. MERRY CHRISTMAS TO U AND YOUR FAMILIES!! KOVE ALL UR VLOGS!!
Glad we gave it a second chance. It was good. Merry Christmas to you and your family 😎😎
They make great doorstoppers.
I was watching it, and then it disappeared. I'm glad to get to finish it.
Yes they copyrighted Johnny Carson after 3 days when I uploaded it. Released it today and it was ok for 2 hours. It’s never done that before since we started using old footage in the videos. Loved the Johnny Clip glad you saw it
I made home made fruitcake one year. It was moist because of the alcohol content. I was very liberal with the brandy. It was three months old.
Just like you guys, haven't had fruitcake in about 40 years, but after seeing this review, I'm going to Walmart and pick one up, fingers crossed that I'll like it!
Let us know if you like it. We thought it was a lot better than the one we had growing up. Fingers crossed.😎😎
@@jbinthehills l will.
My Daddy loved fruit cake. Now I actually won a fruit cake about 5 years ago as a gag gift in a Christmas party at work. A coworker wanted to hold it and he said he could use it to lift weights. But I’m not a fan of fruit cake but I guess it has memories for many
That is funny. It is a tradition for a lot of people. 😎😎
For some reason it's fashionable for people to say they hate fruitcake but I always enjoyed them.
I think it was the taste of the rum in the fruit cake that I tried years ago. But I did like this one.😎😎
The best fruitcake? Collin St. Bakery in Corsicana, TX. I've been getting one almost every year for many, many years. It ain't cheap, but it's the best.
I bet it is good from a Bakery. 😎😎
Thank you. We did like this one.😎😎
I like the Japanese fruit cakes
because it has more nuts than fruit.
Theres also refrigerator fruit cake which base is eagle brand milk and crushed vanilla wafers and coconut, jared cherries ,lots of pecans and made in a loaf pan. Its my favorite of all
The lady in you tube collard valley. Cooked a regular fruit cake on her channel that has no alcohol if you want to check her channel out.?
That sounds good. I will check her video out.😎😎
