@Sudhir Raghu This film is one little gem of a movie. Such a heart touching film. So heart flutteringly endearing. Throughout while I was watching it I was smiling, it felt so heartwarming. One of the best art films ever made ..it's truly art. It's such a quiet and atmospheric film and yet so thought provoking and soul stirring. The first time I watched it I was kinda sad with the ending because it felt so bittersweet after being such a savoury film and felt abrupt. It left me asking and wanting for more. But after some days I realised that the ending was what made it so special and gave it that last effect. The film although is simple but still impactful🖤💛💜Faye Wong is just exceptionally good and makes it seem like she was made for the role and or it was written for her🤩tailor made for her. So cute and weird and whimsical. Glad this film did not release in this time as she wud have instantly been labelled as a "manic pixie dream girl" and I would have hated that as I wud have hated her being given a label since she's so precious. Her childish innocence and impish gestures are so endearing😍She's just so genuinely cute that it's hard not to fall for her. I read in reviews that Hong Kong which occupies such a great role in the film was just as shown, bustling yet people are lonely and a certain sense of not knowing and uncertainity pervaded. Tony Leung has such killer eyes that can melt any heart🧡😍 The love story was so heartfelt right from the sexual tension between the leads at the cafe from the first meeting . The unspokenness between them said so many words. But the only thing that I found unsettling after reflecting on the film days later was how shrewd Faye was...it just felt so vicious of her to delete the cop's girlfriend's message which I can still understand but I just had a thought what if the gender roles were reversed...what if a guy had obsessively been sneaking in a girl's apartment😅..it wouldn't be all that cute then..wud it be? I stayed in Chunking Mansions in the mid 80s. I was warned not to stay there. I found it perfectly safe and an urban environment I had never seen the likes of. The interior reminded my of scenes in Blade Runner I had seen just a couple years before. Looking back, one of my travel highlights.
Apparently the film was unable to shoot at the mansion because of legal reasons showing drug deals happening there. So they shot at a similar building near by. There's a sign that says Chunking House which isn't a real place.
Kar wai and Christopher Doyle where on top of catching a mood and style. More precisely, they have created a mood and style. The vibe was so ahead of time, it whirles in the air even nowdays. One of film critics told me, he does not like Kar Wai's ''sweetness''. I guess, his reference was ''My Blueberry nights''. I am also not fan of it. Actually, Kar Wai's older period was what brought whole new scale to aesthetics of the media.
after so many years, i still feel the throbbing in my heart when the music starts... such a magical film and Wong kar wai, the master who replicates a specific moment in time using colors, sound, imagery and scents
Wong Kar Wai, Faye Wong, and this song, a match made in some upper level of heaven that I never knew existed. I remember watching this movie for the first time last summer and instantly become hopelessly obsessed 😭
I haven't watch the movie yet, just gone through the clips.. Director Wong Kar Wai's applied many aesthetic senses in the movie, and even the sound tracks. I think this movie makes people know more about Hong Kong, the beauty of the city. He makes Hong Kong looks a like another phenomenon - the streets and people. I think the locals could agree that.
This is the most classic cult Hong Kong movie ever made. This movie was the best movie ever made by Director Wong Ka-Wai. No Asian directors came close to it.
"Faye is a bad character cause she's a Manic Pixie dream girl". Many would say that but i don't think so. It's just the way all the characters in this movie are. They're somewhat all manic pixie dream in each other's lives either man or women. because that's what the movie is about. People in Chungking was melancholy, their interaction wasn't enough for them to create bonding as human. So they barely see each other as comprehensive people but just parts and pieces of colours, characters and personalities. We don't know much about them as characters just like they don't know much about each other as human. Lives collide lives and their loneliness is eased for a moment when they have each other.
This has been my song from the moment I heard it in this movie. Something about it, just makes me hope when none can be conjured. Although I always heard it as Wednesday, like the bump in the week when everything is bleak but life is still going on, for the promise of tomorrow

I don't know about others, but whenever I see this film, among other iconic 90s' Hong Kong movies, I somehow get into this melancholy, or mood of something decadent and nostalgic. It's kind of shame that this romantic city has been shedding its most enchanting traits over the years, especially since the return to You-Know-What. Long story short, I really miss good old days in Hong Kong and I am sad by the fact that those days might not come back for long time. p.s. She looks really lovely in this snip of the film and her acting is ineffably hypnotic.

The best everrrr i love the movie i love the song i love the actress i love the director i love i love i love... alllllllllll
I also ❤️ eveything about this movie, including Tony Leung, one of the best asian actors ever !...
It seems that you are in the mood for love :D

If memories ever come in a can, I hope they can never expires. If it has to have a shelf life, I hope it's 10,000 years. ❤️
after so many years, i still feel the throbbing in my heart when the music starts... such a magical film and Wong kar wai, the master who replicates a specific moment in time using colors, sound, imagery and scents

Impossible to watch this movie and not fall in love with her
Wong Kar Wai, Faye Wong, and this song, a match made in some upper level of heaven that I never knew existed. I remember watching this movie for the first time last summer and instantly become hopelessly obsessed 😭
When I’m sad I come here when I’m happy I come here when I’m upset I come here.. truly magical
I'm obsessed with this song for some reason, its probably the vibes it gives off
me 2
Probably the greatest star to come out of Beijing.
She is kind of a magic pixie girl, but Wong Kar Wai makes it so beautiful. Plus, all the acting is quite intentional, not just playing cute.
I saw this movie and in the mood for love all locked down in my home january 1st. Best decision ever.
Asian movie at the '80 - '90 are really, charming at their own way
I haven't watch the movie yet, just gone through the clips.. Director Wong Kar Wai's applied many aesthetic senses in the movie, and even the sound tracks. I think this movie makes people know more about Hong Kong, the beauty of the city. He makes Hong Kong looks a like another phenomenon - the streets and people. I think the locals could agree that.
Faye Wong is such a beautiful creature !
the second that i saw her picture in the thumbnail i decided to watch this movie .
she is so beautiful,i watched this movie just to see more of her .
Same
You can't not fall in love with her after watching this film.
Fantastic film in my memory
Now I'm cleaning house and dance like Faye does

I keep coming back to this video, I literally can't stop listening/watching
Can't believe that she is 51 now , wish i was born early.
A mesmerizing masterpiece. Timeless.
one of my favorite pieces of art in the world, give me gosebumps, I cant explain how
This is the most classic cult Hong Kong movie ever made. This movie was the best movie ever made by Director Wong Ka-Wai. No Asian directors came close to it.
I love this song and movie. It makes me so happy and sad at the same time.
She presents an attitude towards life. Never mind whatever is coming
This film filled my heart with helium.
Ohh how much I love this movie!!! My all time favourite !
Im so in love with her, the whole movie I was in awe
Vulnerable and careless at same time..beautifully captured by the character
I have to watch this movie after I watch ANY romantic film/drama. This was my coming of age film. My first love :P
Wow, Faye Wong is so beautiful and this montage is just perfect.
I haven't seen Chungking Express yet, but I will watch it this week.
I'll never forget this film...
The sound mixing in this is incredible.
I LOVED THIS SONG A LOT !!!!
WHEN I WORKED AT MART IN LA U.S.A
I HEARD THE SONG EVERYDAY EVERY MORNING.....
SOME ONE TOLD ME ARE YOU CRAZY ? ^^
You must have had a different feeling listening to this song while being in LA. ✨
1:19. Love that face so bad
I just love this movie so much
Oh yes selen , great memories

I'm afraid I'll never be able to experience love

Ugh the way he looks at her at the end. My heart 💔
Amazing movie. What love story are meant to do to you. It makes you vulnerable and humbled.
i want to watch this movie i searched and couldnt find where can i watch ot
This has been my song from the moment I heard it in this movie. Something about it, just makes me hope when none can be conjured. Although I always heard it as Wednesday, like the bump in the week when everything is bleak but life is still going on, for the promise of tomorrow
This film is one little gem of a movie. As Quentin Tarantino perfectly said "he doesn't know anyone who didn't come out of the film having a crush on her(Faye)". In one word the film is just beautiful. The cinematography is award worthy! So masterful! This is the first film of Wong Kar Wai that I watched and it's such a beautiful and artistic portrayal of the human condition..lonliness , love and loss. It wud be rather creepy I guess😁Anyhow a beautiful film both style and substance wise. Really poignant and visceral..a film more to be felt than analysed or understood. Sorry for the long comment but this film is very hard to desrcibe into words. A mesmersing beautiful and almost soul soothing hypnotic experience. Also I just did not get sick of the constant california dreamin played in it😅😂which is amusing. Such a quite and fascinating flick🖤

also Leslie Cheung and Tony Leung
I don't know about others, but whenever I see this film, among other iconic 90s' Hong Kong movies, I somehow get into this melancholy, or mood of something decadent and nostalgic. It's kind of shame that this romantic city has been shedding its most enchanting traits over the years, especially since the return to You-Know-What. Long story short, I really miss good old days in Hong Kong and I am sad by the fact that those days might not come back for long time. p.s. She looks really lovely in this snip of the film and her acting is ineffably hypnotic.
I’m obsessed with this damn song, love it.
The day I find a girl who feels this movie as I do ,would be the day I find my soulmate

One of my favorite films, although I prefer the first story more just because every line the cop says resembles something I would say.
Which cop ?
@@usernamesta3334 The cop/detective/inspector/agent in the first story, the one that buys canned pinnaples that expire on a specific date and falls in love with the woman with the blonde wig
