This is a rare track. This is the full-length version of 'This Wheel's on Fire', theme tune to Absoluetely Fabulous, as performed by Julie Driscoll and Adrian Edmondson.
I remember being 15 or 16 and coming home to find The Young Ones British comedy on my TV (US). It was Jennifer Saunders, Ade Edmondson, Rik Mayhal, Nigel Planer, Dawn French and a few others doing a skit on the 'Slags vs. the Hawaiians'. Love at first sight. I was already hooked on Monty Python, Dave Allen at Large, Benny Hill, Are You Being Served?, Waiting for God, No, Honestly and too many others to mention so of course AbFab was a huge fave of mine. I liked staying up late and doing my Chemistry homework to these shows. In the halls at school the next day we fans of Brit comedy always greeted each other with our fave show lines. Good times!
Love Ab Fab. Love the old British comedy shows. Benny Hill, Dr In The House, Rising Damp, On The Buses, Man About The House, Are You Being Served?, Keeping Up Appearances, Monty Python, Mr Bean, and The Two Ronnies. Ab Fab was my favourite.
Every time I hear this song, My childhood comes flashing back to me. I always feel like this is a ballad for the debauched life of Patsy & Edna... I love it
I would be willing to bet the house that when Rick Danko (of The Band) and Bob Dylan (yes, THAT Bob Dylan) wrote this song during The Basement Tapes period, neither had ANY idea that it would become the theme for one of the iconic series of any and every television era.
Dated a man almost 30 years my senior around 2012-2014. He and his best friend had declared themselves Eddie and Patsy as we were all getting ready to go off on vacation. I responded "aw fuck, that makes me Bubble" They're married now
I can't wait to see absolutely fabulous movie Friday 1st July in cinemas me & mum where big fans xxxxxxxxxxxxx ps I got absolutely fabulous series DVDs thank you sweetie xxxxxxxxxxxxx
The backup singers are singing the version they used for the show. That's probably common knowledge, but it's all I'm listening to. Can't wait for the movie, that show was great.
Clearly the 60s original, but they need Ade to add backing to it like the theme for the first three series, so we get a full version for the movie next year! Eeeek, I can't wait - and neither can the Bolly!
Ha haha. Can’t disagree with you, but it wouldn’t suit the woke, holier than thou left wing crap we have to put up with these days. Just not PC enough.
I always said I wouldn’t watch this show cause it was too “gay” for me. Then I watched it with my boyfriend (who loves this and grew up with it) we watched the movie, and I fell in love with it. I’m so sorry. I love Patsy.
Yes, it's camp as Christmas- because of the fashionistas, the wonderfully catty humour, etc. However, the heart of the show is the generational battle between the hard partyin' Boomers who still think the world revolves around them- and the disapproving daughter and mother, as well as the less indulgent world around them. Of course, Saffy's GenX contemporaries weren't all like her but the Millennials are, with a vengeance. The show was the first salvo in the battle against the Boomers' domination of the economy, society and everything else.
I was fortunate enough to have worked in the fashion biz part of my life, and I tell my many family and friends who do not 'Get' AbFab that I just understand the whole scene more than they do... ;-.>
Trinity version of this (original) is my fave song ever....same great singer on both versions... Julie Driscoll... never had Ade Edmonton down as a Brian Auger though... haha ☺

Eddie: A mosquito has bitten you for God's sake! Patsy: The last mosquito that bit me had to book into the Betty Ford Clinic.🍾🍷
Lady snake84 I remember this line lol

I recently had a stroke and have time on my hands thank God for Ab Fab on You Tube. Got to see my favorite episodes and so much more.

My one son got me the entire DVD collection for my birthday a couple decades ago.
Hearing this song makes me feel like I'm home, and I want to cry because it's been too long since I felt safe and loved with British humor 🤣

They're married now
I always used to think that Jennifer Saunders (Eddy) and Joanna Lumley (patsy) sang the theme tune XD
That would of been good
Orinoco1988
They actually do on a karaoke machine in one episode.
No it's Jennifer and Adrian ❤️ but this version is good too
Me to!! Haha
I just discovered ab fab and im obsessed. obsessed i tell you.
My mother used to watch this show all the time
I still watch it every Halloween it's the best ever
So happy when this plays. They can use the whole song for the opening title sequence for the movie!!!

Kylie Minogue sings it
I loved watching Ab Fab growing up and I still love watching the repeats

Her original version with Brian Auger and the Trinity is also to be commended, if only for the marvelous psychedelic phasing effect.
The original is by Bob Dylan and The Band.
@@RockinAllDay the hit version is by Julie Driscoll and Brian Auger and the Trinity, that is correct a number one hit in 1968 in the UK
@@michaelrochester48 Of course. I just mentioned that the original is a Bob Dylan/Rick Danko song.
I want to say I'm the only black chic who loves this show in america, I could watch eddy and patsy non stop. And the theme song is awesome!!!
sharonda carter - Dylan wrote it
nope the 2nd lol i grew up on this show and im a drag queen!
I love the way the theme song evolved over the years from a basic computer generated animation to a full on graphics

Any idea if its possible to find the backup singers' version? Im just obsessed with that heh
Love the show and the song.
PATSY: "What _ARE_ you wearing Eddy?" EDDY: "It's LaCroix..." PATSY: "It's FABULOUS!!!"
omg I remember that quote
This is the best song ever

"Notify my next of kin..." Great lyric!
Also Siouxsie & The Banshees!
Wow, thanks, been searching for this one, great song!!!!
Great song.
it's strange that they used this song for this series. but it's great! Love The Band! (and AbFab, of course.)
This is the original song that Julie recorded for her album, she re-recorded it with Jennifer Saunders husband Ade Edmondson for the tv theme
I feel like Ab Fab needs to come back during these times
Ha haha. Can’t disagree with you, but it wouldn’t suit the woke, holier than thou left wing crap we have to put up with these days. Just not PC enough.

The Patsy and Saffy fights are the highlights of the show.

the elephant in the room .... it's a Bob Dylan song written with The Band!
With Eddie and Patsy, every night is a, absolutely fabulous night.🥃🍸🍹🍷🥂
Cool,thanks
25 years later she sings it higher.
that's unusual.
Can't wait for the abfab film (which inevitably will happen)
Patsy: Eddie I’m in a moral dilemma
Eddie:Pats... you have no morals
You can't buy this anywhere and hate that.
💜
I love the Siouxsie and the Banshees version.
Wheels on fire, rolling down the road
AbFab is now on Netflix US.
Why don't British shows have that many episodes? Ab Fab lasted a few years but only has thirty-nine episodes. That's a paltry amount.
Quality not Quantity over here.
This doesn't sound like the same version on Ab Fab to me. Julie's voice is not nearly as pronounced. Am I wrong?
I had SUCH a crush on Saffron...
This would be a good version of the song for the movie.
Patsy and Medina were Mick & Keith's evil twins. "Let It Bleed."
❤❤❤❤
Trinity version of this (original) is my fave song ever....same great singer on both versions... Julie Driscoll... never had Ade Edmonton down as a Brian Auger though... haha ☺
The original is by Bob Dylan and The Band. Co-written by him and Band member Rick Danko.
Love these "DAHLING LADIES" Sweetie :-)
It was edited using the second chorus and then the instrumental ending
It’s just not the TV version.....

Funeral song
I imagine Kate Bush singing this, in her early period during the late 70s
AB FAB is on Netflix currently and they've replaced the whole Wheel on Fire vocals with just the music. Why? I've no idea..
Same on Amazon Prime Video.
Probably a licensing issue
Weird, i hear the voice on netflix, is it a location problem?
So do I
