    As fisherman are fond of saying, "this was the one that got away." Disappointing that you lost that Russian kopek Erik; however, your excellent assortment of coins, buckles, and Roman artifacts more than makes up for the loss. Thank you for taking us along on your adventures, Erik!

    nothing more frustrating than losing a good find right away ! still remember how I lost my first proper viking ring just after finding it ca 15yrs ago - was still pretty green and haven't found much viking age stuff to that point and it was sooo infuriating 😂
    speaking of viking era things; many conical spindle whorls in a proper context were found in York and Hedeby and are usually dated to the 10th any chance that this field was somewhat occupied/used in early medieval times ?

    post hoorn embleem I think you found. It was on the cap of the postman.
    I remember as a child the postman's uniform that had the hoorn in it.
    Thanks for doing a good job.
    Sorry you lost the Russian coin.
    Thumbs up Erik.

Oli

    I hope you find more of these small silver Russian coins. Are these common finds in the Netherlands?

  • @joachimnass
    @joachimnass ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I'm so sorry you've lost that Russian coin. I hope one day you'll find it again. Was so tiny tho. Are you using a finds box when out in the field? I use one that has a red ribbon attached to it so in case I lose it I can see it even if it's in tall grass. Anyway, thanks for the video, and good luck hunting!

    A bugle badge in the British army usually denotes the rifles but I think this is a postage insignia Sweden and Estonia still use the sign. I hope your little coin turns up, have you checked the mud on your boots?
