@@themaskedeconomist8404 Considering that the lightsworn prismatic test missprints are over £2k each and there are 2 cards that have this issue your already at £12k w/ just 6 cards. Max chaos lightsworn is waaay over £20k
You can just get the cheaper versions instead of starlights and ultimates, then the only really expensive ones are lightning storm and nadir servant and accesscode talker
Imagine actually playing starlight rares in a deck and your opponent ones to shuffle, or pick up your cards and bends a corner or something. Now your several hundred dollar card is damaged. I can understand collecting these cards and selling them. I wouldn’t be caught dead playing a starlight rare.
This deck is amazing on a causal level. Using a build with just cards from the structure deck won me most games I played on dueling nexus. I beat infernoble, cyber dragons, a bunch of zombie decks, winged beast, etc. basically majority of any casual decks can lose to this deck quick. You gotta remember you’re able to make your charmers unaffected by card effects and battle, you can make them immune to being destroyed by card effects, you’re able to lock your opponent out of spells, you’re able to to pop cards really easily, and can stack your atk boost cards, you can literally have 3 charmers with up to 5000+ atk on the board with all those interruptions. The only thing about this deck is that is if your opponent uses traps that limit you to only one type than you’re kinda done for. Traps are usually what stop this deck. You have to also remember a lot of decks negate monsters and your monster don’t have anything to negate. This deck also loses to cards that return cards to the hand, and any traps that get rid of spells and traps. It’s only won 1st place here and there because it has good protection and control, but there’s plenty of common traps that ruin this deck too easily. If this deck had any support that negates trap or gives trap protection this deck would definitely see meta play. Overall this deck performs really well in weird areas. Don’t sleep on it if you’re a budget player. Definitely worth $30 for the structure deck since you’re getting play sets of dimensional barrier, veiler, dark ruler, Denko, twin twisters, Solomon warning, and metaverse. If you’re a budget player this is definitely a good structure to pick up. Another thing to keep in mind is this deck isn’t viably consistent with an extra deck. Which leaves out a huge area of play.
Don't forget this deck plays very consistently with Dogmatika and Magistus to play more extra deck cards you normally don't use. You're absolutely right about how traps can stop this deck or cards that wipe out your backrow because the spells and traps are what makes Charmer viable. If there were new supports that provide floodgates or spell/trap negation along with some searches and a boss monster (optional), then this archetype can see some aggressive plays.
@@JonningtonXIV He gave us two versions: the initial version took up the majority of the video, and basically showed a competitive profile. He added the others at the end for pure deck profiles, because you can get rid of a lot of the extra deck for pure charmers
I'm so jealous of those 4 Starlight Familiar Possessed Link monsters in the thumbnail! I actually tried my luck with packs of Ignition Asssault and Code of Eternity, got Aussa (Common) but ended up with an Accesscode Talker and Linkross

Starlight rares really put the value of Yu-Gi-Oh on the next level. Really happy about that seeing as how Yu-Gi-Oh lost its pack opening "wow factor" for a few years without these chase rarities. Also, $12k in a single deck... And I thought my $2k max rarity Spellbook deck was insane...
This reminds me of when I built a $12k deck for Magic. It could have only cost me $2-4k but I wanted to go all out with rare foils and promo cards. When asked why I said “this is the deck that if I get known, I want to be known for”
Locally I got to be known as a pain in people’s ass because I wouldn’t lose any of our Legacy events and Legacy side events at GPS became quite profitable but alas I never became famous. The 2 times I even made it to the pro tour was playing Modern Elves at PTQs before they split PTQs into two events of play
Well I wouldn’t say I’m unknown af, that’d imply I accomplished nothing. The fact I got to the pro tour twice is more than 99% of Mtg players can claim and between the facts that I’ve earned more in prizes than I spent on cards and that the value of my cards being reserved list staples only goes up every year, I’d say despite not being known I’ve had a successful run as a magic player
Plus nothing stopping me from as soon as covid is over hopping on the SCG competitive circuit and still getting known that way. I’ve got the cards, my track record shows I have the skills
I'm so glad that Sam collected these starlights instead of pulling them with his God Hands. I don't think his furniture would survive that kind of abuse

What are your thoughts on pure charmer builds? 🤔 I know people have been running dogmatika to make the deck more viable, but I’ve found a lot of success taking out Wynn, and actually running 3 awakening of the possessed’s because they stack, using ichirin for the combo w/aussa into nefarious, and keeping Aruru and hand traps like Nibiru and Ash, you get reliable combos and good disruption if you can’t otk early, also can add monster reborn to help get out links or just add an attribute from the enemies gy for an extra 300-900 atk (if you have 3 AoP on field)
