    I am such an empath and I've always loved watching your videos because it doesn't exhaust me like a lot of other youtubers, it just makes me feel like I'm not the only one. Thank you for opening up about this :)

    I've recently moved from living with my parents to living with my boyfriend in a fixer upper house. We're doing all of our own construction and it has been stressful. I've settled into things here and I'm trying to get my morning routine down. Every morning I'll stretch then go into the kitchen and make oatmeal while I listen to one of your videos, and they always give my days a great start. I feel happier and more motivated after hearing your videos.
    I used to think something was wrong with me because I said yes to everyone of your questions in this video. Only in the past few years have I become accepting of being the person who doesn't like to be in crowd or around draining people. I never new there was a word for these kinds of people, so thank you so much.
    If you ever started a podcast I would support it! Much love! You make my mornings a hell lot better, never stop creating beautiful content 😊💕🤟

    I think I’m an empath and people around me always don’t understand that
    But now, I know that I’m not alone thanks to you
    Thank you so much for this video!

    So happy to watch this! I have been highly empathetic for a long time and it took me until my late 20s to understand how to use it to navigate my life positively instead of seeing it as a negative quality, because it can be sooooo draining to deal with if you don't know how to take time for self care and when to stop being "the helper" and help yourself. I found my new career in mental health, and while being an empath while counseling others who are dealing with loss, addiction, and mental illness can be difficult, if you can learn separation, it helps you see the perspective of others and give truly honest and thoughtful counseling. I now can see my empathy as a gift to help others instead of a burden. When I was younger it was so hard to feel so much, but it gets better as you grow and learn :) Thanks for sharing this Carrie! I love your self help series, and I hope I get to meet you one day if you're ever on the east coast!

      That’s something I really need to learn is separation from the energies I feel with other because I end up soaking it in. How did you learn to Separate your self?

    • @calielizabeth4714
      @calielizabeth4714 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      This is a.hard question to answer because it truly is different for anyone but top 3 things i would say are 1. Have confidence that going through experiences and feeling the way you do will make you stronger, because in the end it does- you just need to develop that inner voice and listen to it- the one that tells you when to take a step back, or to care for yourself, and give yourself permission to know its okay to step back. 2. For many sensitive people, going to speak with a therapist 2-4 times a month can help to let out all the emotions and energy building up. Speaking to a therapist has a big stigma in the US, but it can truly benefit anyone if you find the right fit. 3. This is the hardest one, but i think its the most relevant, it just takes time...getting to know yourself well enough to know when you're soaking up others' emotions, versus when you are truly feeling something for yourself, and releasing the extra weight from others through an activity that works for you (running, yoga, self-care routines, meditation, etc.) hope this helps!

    • @biancamay30
      @biancamay30 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Well then I guess I’m doing all of those! But Iv just started these past two months. I started seeing a therapist and it’s helped ALOT with releasing a lot of emotions build up and I feel lighter, maybe that’s why a lot has been coming now. And I feel a release when I do yoga with energies and recharging my body!! I guess right now is knowing when to step back and truest figuring my self out! I’m in my mid 20s and I’m just finding my true self with all these emotions/ energy’s! Thanks for your advice!! At least I know I’m going through the right path

      @calielizabeth4714 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Bianca Wesley some wise words from Neil deGrasse Tyson: “the fact that you are living is what life is all about.” Your “right path” is whatever path you end up taking, so don’t worry- you’ll get there! Sounds like you’re already on your way

    So happy to watch this and this topic coming to light. I am an empath and it does drain me. Often I find myself taking other physical pain as well. It's a very complicated thing to feel. Figuring out the "vampires" in your life and emotional boundaries really helps but sometimes I can touch someone and feel pain. Recharging in solitude is very real and often why I travel when I do.

    This makes so much sense to me now!! I can remember being an empath ever since I was a child. This explains why my boyfriend never gets it when I say I can feel tension, or a change in the atmosphere of a room or person. He thinks I'm crazy but I'm gonna show him this video! Haha! I also really struggle with wanting to rescue people or cure their problems!!

    I love that you made this video! I feel as though a lot of people associate weakness with people who feel so deeply, but now that I am who I am, I really don't think it's a bad thing. One of my good friends (we are both empaths) pointed out that we should not be ashamed of being empaths because how great is it that we are one of those rare people who feel so much when some people don't at all? I've really learned to embrace my empath traits over the years and am still learning how to completely love them so this video has really helped me feel as though it's that much more amazing to be one. Thank you :)

    Hi Carrie! Love it that youre doing a video about HSP! Im turning 23 and Ive known being HSP since I was 16.. I even gave workshops at college about HSP :) Its a gift to feel so intensely within happy moments, like I can enjoy the little things in life so much. But like you said, crowds, other peoples energies etc can be hard to deal with.. Ive learnt to see my sensitivity as a beautiful strength instead of a weakness :) You inspire me that I could use my HSP within a job just like you do with your creative and caring videos! lots of love from Holland!

    SO TRUE I had no idea there was a word for all these things that I’ve been experiencing my whole life. I also have a great sense of compassion to the point where it hurts and I bring things home with me. Thank you for the video. I’m so glad I’m not alone. Do empaths also have a hard time with transitions and change? That’s also a trait I struggle with

    It's so nice to know that other people have these same feelings about things. I love being around my friends and meeting new people, but if it's a big group of people I definitely almost feel drained after being around everyone for so long. I always thought that it's just a part of me growing up since i'm only 20, and maybe it is... but it definitely feels good to know that there are other people that feel this way too:)

    I love that you put out this video. I have always been very connected with my emotions as well as others and would remember being called a “cry baby” or “too sensitive” growing up. You are really embracing our emotions as humans in this video and I so much of what you said resonated with me. I HATE long arguments. It would drain me so much to the point of feeling depressed afterwards yet I can never hold a grudge. Please make more videos like this and “7 signs” videos. Can’t wait for more content like this!

    Ever since i was a little girl, my mom used to tell me that i was 'an indogo' which basically means you have a soul that is older than you, that your soul used to belong to sombody other than you.
    It is such a fasinating topic and it really is eye opening, especially becuse i have lived my whole life searching what it acually means.
    I was really suprised when i saw your video becuse it acually is the first time that i have seen sombody that has knowlage about the whole Indigo and empath thing.
    P.s. My mom has learned that i was an Indigo by a fortuneteller in Turkey, we were living there at the time.

    I can relate. I am an empath. Most people don’t understand me. It’s exhausting. Before someone even speak, I already know their intentions but no one understands that and how the heck i know what they think, feel and especially their intentions. I feel everyones emotions around me that’s why from time to time i need to be alone to recharge. There are times i drive around and i already feel the vibe. When i enter a room, office, attending parties, i already sense the feeling. I have limited energy because of all these emotions around me. It is bizarre for other people that’s why i dont really open up about being an empath. I know when someone is lying, when someone is playing mind games and pretend to be nice. I also dont like small talks because its a waste of time. In the restroom at work, i wait until everyone leaves the room. I hate small talks. At work, i eat alone because that’s my time for myself to recharge. Only empaths will understand the details of all these emotions.

    CARRIE! I love this video mostly because I love how open you are and how much of yourself you share online, it is very grounding for those of us who feel lost. The funniest part of this is I know I am an empath and I was having a very deep discussion about it with my friends the other night at 3 in the morning… then two days later your video comes out. Its crazy! I have visions so often and its so nice to hear you talk about your experiences and fascinations so openly. Have the best week! All my love xx - Merlin

    Being an HSP is so hard when you LIVE with negative people. I am constantly absorbing their sadness and low energy whether I like it or not. I’m working on moving out but it’s a slow process. I need to find a way to protect myself from them.

    The timing of this video is absolutely crazy!! I felt it on such a deep level and am able to relate to so much of what you described. I've felt that I was an empath for a while now, and it kicks up during certain times of the year for me, personally. Overall, this was such an excellent video and I so appreciate everything you touched on. Your content continues to inspire me and is so thoughtful! Thank you, Carrie!! 👏💕🙏💛

    I am all except 1, and not so much 2..but 3..is my STRONGEST trait. I have intense dreams only for them to come true. It wasn't always so precise, but now they are..they scare the crap out of me. I wish I knew what to do with this. I have it for a reason!

    Omg I am first. I am never first. I was just telling my sister yesterday how I am such big empath that I mix other peoples emtions as mine. Also I feel energy of people and places so much.

      Oh yes I like it. Thank God I am not only "nuts" one. It is nice to know I am not alone. :D One of reason I subscribed on your channel is because of your energy. You make me calm. As I am older ( 22 now) I tend to really carefully choose people that I am surrounded with and the content I am watching, listening or reading, beacuse I absorb energy like sponge and when I am overwhelmed I numb my feelings or just stay at home alone for days to recharge . Also I love learning but hate studying. Have a nice day and thank you for video.

    I don’t know if I have these traits but I feel like I might have but at the same time I doubt myself when I think I do. That didn’t make much sense but anyway. I can feel what others are feeling and can feel the energy in the room as soon as I step inside it. I always know when it is going to be a hard day at work the moment I wake up because I love going to work but some days I just don’t want to go and those days it always is a bad day. I work with people with dementia and OMG I am so emotionally exhausted when I get home. I call people sometimes and when they answer they say that they were just thinking of calling or that it has been a long time since we talked and so on. Just a few things that make me think that maybe I’m not an empath but maybe I have some traits at least. I don’t know I’m just rambling right now.
    Loved the video and love your content and you! 😊❤️

    I'm an Empath and I'm not real good with it. I have troubles setting boundaries because of a tramatic childhood. I've always felt different and when my therapist told me I think your an Empath and being a Cancer I'm sure of it. It's not a gift to me at all. I have no choice but to deal with it. I don't like crowds, loud noises , busy places it overwhelming to the core. I'm thinking by listening to you you for sure are an Empath. I attract the loudest, craziest people you can imagine.

    I am so glad I found you. Your topics cover all the things I'm interested in and trying to figure out about myself, this being the biggest one so far! It means so much to me you have no idea. Do you ever experience deja vu? I do all the time and it freaks me out.

    I was about the same age as you when I realized I was empathic. I’m 33 now and every year since I was 22 I’ve learned more about how to handle it. I have this keen sense all the time and when I reach out to people it’s almost scary to them and myself that I’ve picked up on something. Either good or bad.
    And also when I’m around someone who is emotionally struggling (either work or home) I get physically ill. That’s the part I’m still trying to manage.
    Thanks for your tips and how to recognize empathic tendencies.
    Oh and I get why you can’t handle large crowds because I usually feel the same way, but when I’m at a concert I have a sense of euphoria every time because the energy is usually so positive. That’s an awesome feeling!! But then I get home and I can’t sleep because I’ve overcharged myself. Hahaa!!

    so I did a test for highly sensitive people and I answerd nearly every question with "yes". I also always had the feeling that I am a bit different then other persons... I'm often ill, physically and mentally, and that always bothers me because my friends didn't had that problems! And I also often know what peole think... for example when I talk to someone and this person tells me something positive but I feel that the person is sad because of something...
    I'm so happy that you made that video because you showed me that I'm not alone and that someother people feel the same!!

    This was such an amazing video! I definitely relate to almost every one of these. Being an empath really is a blessing and a curse in my experience, mostly because feeling bad energy from certain people can make socializing very difficult for me. Whenever I encounter someone who gives me bad energy, I immediately want to get away from them or if I am talking to them I go in defensive mode, even if they haven’t necessarily offended me. I would looovvee another video on tips of handling this in the future.

    I’ve always been an Empath am a very sensitive person and that is why I always have to watch the people I allow around me and I don’t like crowds it literally makes me physically ill and for those people who don’t believe in Energy they need to start researching this stuff it will make a believe and I have really bad anxiety and the other thing that people need to understand is talking things in to existence when you talk about a lot of negative things you bring it in to existence and with arguments I try and avoid any and all arguments because it’s to much emotional baggage and I hated school and never did good in school I was always bored and anxious

    LOVE! Thank you so much for this video. I have been learning more about being an empath and it makes me feel all cozy inside when others talk about it, as well. Thank you for sharing your journey, I feel like you hit the nail on the head with everything. The only difference for me is that I don't mind large crowds normally, but even though they don't bother me, I still have to recharge in solitude!
    Lately I've been questioning how I can use this to help heal others. Up until now, I've just been trusting in the universe to give me the green light on what to say to ppl whose energy I feel, but I'm wondering if I can do more. I appreciate you :)
