      Rear seat legroom in Hyundai cars is among the best in the industry.
      In the case of the Grandeur (Korea only), it's comparable to the S-Class, but at a fifth of the price.
      Of course, it has a more spacious second row than the Panamera.
      so.. go buy Hyundai. :)

      I am in fact cross-shopping the Polestar 3 and the Macan. I'm not interested in any other BEVs except the Taycan, which I like better but which is way more expensive. I like the exterior looks of the Polestar 3 way, way, way more than the exterior looks of the Macan Electric, but the Macan Electric has a MUCH better interior cockpit and screens. Porsche made a huge mistake in changing the look of the rear end of the Macan ICEV, by removing the infinitely-better-looking non-moving spoiler over the rear window and adding an ugly and ridiculous-looking moving spoiler below the rear window in the Macan BEV.

  • @MadMonkMan
    @MadMonkMan 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    Good step forward. I prefer the M4 over the turbo styling. Range hits over the 300 mi threshold according to Kyle from "Out of Spec reviews" which showed some good efficiency and I am hoping it will beat the Model Y in real life scenarios. Fast charging speed is decent and I do like having ports on both sides. Priced pretty high though.... especially with options it is kind of eye watering but not surprising given the brand i suppose. The small storage compartment in front of the center console display looks to be a cooled cell phone charge cubie (I hope) otherwise its odd to put it there over pushing the console controls forward. The 18 way seats feel pretty nice (tried them out at the dealer on a different car). Rear leg room looks to be better than the gas powered Macan which is much needed as the ICE Macan rear seating is really cramped. Looking forward to seeing it on the road. ;)

    Porsche could cut 3/4 of the tech and weight at the same time as it is going to price itself out of the market. Porsche has not realized that all EV’s are going to be much closer in performance. Most Macon’s are sold as base cars around 70k and at lease.

    Hey Alex (or anyone) will Porsche provide an NACS adapter to allow the use of Tesla Superchargers (like Ford, Volvo, Rivian, etc.). I know they will support NACS just don't see anything about adapter provisions for this early generation.

      @MadMonkMan 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@AAutoBuyersGuide thanks for the reply. If by quality product you mean it either works without damaging your car or not then I agree. This issue will be verifying that it works if it is a 3rd party adapter if they do not provide their own. I wonder this because both FORD and VOLVO are providing their own adapters which seems odd because why would they go to the trouble of making their own if you can just buy a 3rd party one. Its not like its a big profit center for them especially considering FORD is giving them out for free and Volvo may do the same for Volvo customers. Anyway, a bit frustrating to not get a definitive answer from Porsche on what should be a basic customer need.

    Ioniq 5 N makes up to 641hp, weighs like 750lbs less, offers more cargo room, same fast charging, etc. Aside from the better range of the Macan Turbo, I don’t see much else in the car. It’s no where near 2x as good as a Ioniq 5 N given it will costs 2x similarly equipped

      @dr.uweschmidt6300 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      „I don’t see much else in the car“. Well, take a closer look, and preferably drive both cars: they are worlds apart. 1. The weight difference is much smaller, about half of your 750lbs 2. Despite being slightly heavier, the Macan ist faster. 3. Horsepower is similar, torque shows how different they are: 1100+ (!) to 770 Nm. 4. No air suspension for the 5N, Ride even harsher than standard 5 5. Noise level completely different. If you judge cars buy the amount is interior space, the 5N is the one to go for. On all other aspects, it’s 2-3 classes below the Macan.

      @@neergewleinad yeah, I already mentioned extra range. I agree the cockpit controls might be better and higher quality cabin, but it ends there. The screen is no better than a Hyundai. Still basic LCD and the Hyundai offers all the same tech/software if not more their cars. Hyundai offers drift settings, allow you to customize traction/sound, suspension, steering, etc. Hell they even offer fake gear shifts, and crazy thermal management which allows for a Nurburgring lap, then fast charge, and then another Nurburgring lap all while not overheating. I mean it accomplished a 7:45 at the Nurburgring. The Macan seems like a fancier Tesla if I’m being honest. It doesn’t move the game forward at all. Hyundai offers 800v architecture and fast charging as well.
      I’d rather buy a Ioniq 5 + Cayman/Boxster CPO. Macan doesn’t offer anything special

      There’s no kind of depreciation like German luxury car depreciation. In 7-8 years, you’d be able to pick one of these up for under $30k. The only exception to the rule are halo vehicles made in small numbers, which collectors will snap up. The mass produced models like the Macan hold their value about as well as a net holds water. One bonus for the EVs is the typically very expensive out of warranty service should be much less frequent, and Porsche builds very reliable cars.

Those giant wheels look totally absurd, and ARE totally absurd on a BEV (because they reduce range). Why is the luxury-car segment so hell-bent on these giant, ugly wheels? They should all offer 18-inch wheels standard. Nothing larger is necessary, and the smaller the better for range.

    @AAutoBuyersGuide, I watch your videos quite often, as I see myself as an EV enthusiast. I currently own a 2013 Volt, but I'm looking to upgrade. I almost always use TH-cam to find and view this type of content, but I need to ask a question directly. My search words are pretty standard; as an example, I often use "latest affordable electric vehicle available united states". A few months ago, most of the time, some of your stuff was included in my results, but of late I'm getting more and more results that, within the first few seconds, I can confidently say, are just bits of redundant blather and seem to have been assembled by either an idiot or a robot! Sometimes though, it takes several minutes before I realize I'm watching shit. So, my question is; do you know of a way to prevent this garbage from appearing in my results and wasting my time? I'm pretty sure it's wasting the time of thousands...maybe millions...of others as well.

    That may be the second worst center console design I've ever seen; right after the Polestar 2's.
    I mean, what in the world is actually going on with that plastic U shaped thing blocking your access to the cup holders, wireless charger, and usb plugs? Why is there a storage area in front of the climate controls when they could have moved the climate controls up into that spot, making the charging and plug area accessible? Even adding a storage spot BELOW the controls!
    I mean, I just don't understand. For such a nice car with nice specs... it's confounding that Porsche thinks accessibility doesn't matter to the people who have to live with their super expensive vehicles on a daily basis. I'm sure the vehicle can corner great, but does that require the lack of interior accessibility. On a road trip, what's to stop an owner from clipping the drink they got from the fast food joint on those big af plastic rails, spilling the drink all over their car? Will the car pat them on the back and tell them it's ok as they spend hours trying to get the syrupy beverage out of every nook and cranny, and the car smells like diet coke for the next year?
    How does something like this even get OK'd? I mean, do those rails at least improve structural rigidity by like 10% or more to justify such an awful design?
    I've never seen a company repeatedly struggle so much with common sense unforced errors in their center consoles. For those in the market for this class of vehicle, I wouldn't be surprised if that console, as benign as it should have been, becomes a deal breaker for some of them. Hell, I heard people mention selling their Taycan's, noting the console as one of its big pitfalls.
    I look forward to a friend or co-worker spending a fortune for this vehicle just so I can sit inside of it and make fun of the terrible unusable center console.
    Don't just downvote my comment, please explain how this design makes any rationale sense at all!

    • @naaspam1185
      @naaspam1185 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      One more point to the customers. Please don't pretend this hefty beast of a car is doing anything good for the environment. Sure, maybe over the 15 years of ownership, it'll be better than a gas car, but that's an excessively low bar to to get over. No cars are good for the environment. Some EVs may be better than gas vehicles, but this one with its hefty battery and curb weight, and the sheer number of man hours and energy that went into producing it... this one is especially bad for the environment.
      No doubt, it's of fine quality... as the price tag will show. If any company could quickly produce such a vehicle willy nilly, with minimal development time and resources, they would, and they'd be pushing the price of this caliber of vehicle lower. Since Porsche is still selling this thing for $80k+ ... clearly it's difficult and takes a LOT of resources.
      If you are actually concerned enough about the environment to want to take action, they've developed groundbreaking forms of transportation for that. They're called bikes, buses, and trains. If you really want to get creative, you could push your company for 4 day work weeks, and more work from home days. If you want to get real crazy, demand that the California regional governments allow for affordable multi-family developments in downtown areas so people aren't commuting 60-150 miles per day, using exorbitant amounts of energy to do so just so they can find an affordable place to live. I know how y'all Californians are really upset about the "unhoused" people. Ironically, those are the people who actually found a way to live affordably and sustainably, without having to commute 100 miles a day just to live in a place that costs $3k a month instead of $5k.

    It's ugly, especially considering the large family of models within the Porshe family considered well styled. Even worse than being an aesthetic eye sore, its an EV which is an abomination relative to all the great ICE options that Porsche offers at this price point as Porshe makes some of the greatest ICE powertrains in the world.
    And beside limited range, inconvenience of charging out on the road, cold temperature battery sensitivity and inevitable battery degradation over time and exorbitant battery replacement cost out of warranty, there is the abysmal depreciation of EV's in general and especially Porshe EV's.
    A suckers purchase or a well heeled prestige based person who has money to burn. Most that buy one of these will be in debt and need the badge for their self image and are clueless about the true carbon footprint of not only creating a vehicle with a Li-Ion battery this size but also fossil fuel burned to generate the electrical power it runs on.
