Confidence (internally) is precisely something I'm struggling with. Never built a good self. Due to a rather toxic environment at home, it never developed properly.
So, thank you for touching on the subject. Exercise (or just going outside) is one of the most effective ways to lift my mood and feel better about myself. Cutting back on sugar helps too. Sometimes just force yourself to do things you initially don't want to do or aren't comfortable. The reward comes eventually. 😅
    Have a nice weekend, everyone!

I found you while you were analyzing "Hi Ren." I am going through your entire catalog as I type this. I am thankful I found this channel. I live with schizoaffective disorder.

I'm an English teacher from the UK, teaching predominantly in Asia, currently living in China. When I lived in Thailand, I was at a bar and there was a Thai couple sat together, looking at me. I kindly waved hello and they didn't respond. About an hour later, the lady came over to me and started speaking in almost fluent English. She said something I'll never forget. "We all have the same English teacher. His name is Jack Daniels".

6:11 I appreciate the rambles, they provide a lot of context and setup for the point/show your thought process. Also congrats on almost 100k!

Attachment theory fascinates me. I’m currently reading Michael Jacob’s book The Presenting Past. Thanks for sharing your insight Dr Syl. Much appreciated ☺️

Recently saw a YT video about how Tina Turner's mother never liked her no matter what she did. Speaks volumes of how Tina must have found her self confidence in other ways rather than from a caregiver. It is so difficult to feel love when one's own mother didn't love them. Tina was very generous to her mother when others may not have been in the same situation.
Dr. Syl, you mentioned doing a video about domestic violence. Please consider the much more pervasive "Coercive Control" taught by Dr. Evan Stark
