  • This trip to Nanning in November really impressed me, and I fell in love with this unique city.
    The people here are very kind and friendly. That afternoon, I was going to buy a banana on the side of the road, but the peddler gave me a banana for free. He told me that a banana is very cheap, and it doesn't matter if he gives me one.
    I asked for directions here, and every time passers-by patiently guided me how to go, it made me feel very warm inside. I really, really like this city. In return, I shot a three-and-a-half-hour episode of the city as a thank you to the city.
    ------------------⭐⭐
    City Introduction
    ------------------⭐⭐
    Nanning, the capital city of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, is the political, economic and cultural center of the region.
    It has the most prosperous economy in Southwest China, supplying an abundance of agricultural products to the whole Guangxi.
    Bordering Vietnam, this city is neighbor to Guangzhou, close to Hong Kong and Macau, and faces Southeast Asia.
    This advantageous location makes the city a commercial and communication center, opening China to Southeast Asia.
    Pleasant climate endows Nanning with evergreen trees and fragrant flowers all year round, hence the name 'Green City.'
    In such a beautiful land, more than 30 ethnic minority groups have been living harmoniously for 1,680 years.
    Zhuang is the largest minority group of China. Over 90% of them live in Guangxi. Their history and ethnic culture add charm to the city.
    Its beautiful subtropical scenery and exotic ethnic minority culture have been attracting millions of tourists for years.
    Being a modern city, Nanning's accommodation and shopping are diverse and well developed for visitors.
    Hotels and hostels of different standards can meet various needs. In the city's commercial center, supermarkets, department stores, specialty commodity streets, bookstores and other retail markets offer a variety of merchandise.
    When night falls, colorful street lamps lit the city. Under the lights, the locals become active, visiting nightclubs, gyms, bars, and coffee houses. People of all ages can be seen walking or relaxing in the city's many squares or along the river.
    To some extent, nightlife can reflect a city's outlook.
    Though Nanning's nightlife cannot be compared to those of Hong Kong, Shanghai, Shenzhen and other highly developed cities, its citizens do enjoy their life in special ways.
    Visitors can choose from a variety of nightlife to enjoy when they are there. Zhuang ethnic folk songs are sung in Min Ge Square and Wuxiang Square. Shinning stars are reflected in the tranquil Yongjiang River. Sitting on the square or taking a walk along the river is a good choice for those who want to unwind after a busy day at work.
    Strolling through the streets decorated by colorful neon lights, visitors will be dazzled by the many food stalls, bars, nightclubs, gyms and coffee bars. These places are the favorites of the younger generation; while malls and department stores are filled with people shopping until 23:00 every night.
    One recent trend is that more and more people, especially young men, choose to study even after a hard day's work. As a result, there are many schools and organizations offering evening classes in remedial English, computer training and a variety of other subjects. This will make this city a more educated and sophisticated city in the future.

      although there are 56 ethnic minorities in Chinese, they are Chinese. then the question is, why would you rob your fellow countryman? there is no homeless because the unemployed can always go back to their family home in the rural area.

      Do you think we can't access the Internet? In fact, it's not easy for us to access the Internet. We just need to install VPN on our mobile phone or computer. But the fact is that the content on the Internet in China is much more interesting than that on the Internet.

    1. Isn't TH-cam banned in China? Didn't you get into any trouble with the authorities for using a banned product?
    2. Which camera do you use? Please mention brand along with model.

    • @alex100yi

    • @treedillon
      @treedillon ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The first is the lies of the media. Google withdrew from the Chinese market because it did not abide by Chinese laws. There is no Chinese law that prohibits the use of Google, TH-cam, etc. If you're doing something illegal, you're definitely in trouble.

    • @spikermike2843
      @spikermike2843 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      TH-cam is not "banned" - it is not part of the Chinese internet eco system because China emphasizes "internet sovereignty", which is the reason things such as WeChat, Alipay, Alibaba, Didi, etc. could become a foundation of the Chinese e-economy. But, anyone can access youtube via VPN.

    • @andrewzhang985
      @andrewzhang985 ปีที่แล้ว +13

      China actually did not ban any website. Those so called "banned websites" are in fact themselves choosing not to operate in China due to not wanting to follow the Chinese laws that govern the Internet. However, people are free to access all those websites through VPN, it is not illegal.

      when u hear china related news from western sources, 95% of them are either fake, distorted, or heavily biased. but western media are very powerful around the world. so in a way, western media deliberately created "a distorted fake china" in ppl's mind around the world, specially in the west. and this has been going on for decades......lmao....

      Hello from Florida USA 🇺🇸 💕.
      Please tell me if China really has zero covid policy and continues lockdowns all the time.
      I have watched many walk around tours of many China cities, and they all look the same... perfectly normal.
      It's hard to believe anything our news says these days.
      Thanks for any replies!

    • @ossskellige2354
      @ossskellige2354 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@borg386 Yes, China had a zero COVID policy until early December 2022 and has now ended. I can't see the specific sending time of your comment. TH-cam shows only "one month ago". Maybe at the time when you wrote this comment, China has ended the zero COVID policy. There were lockdowns, but they were all city lockdowns, not national lockdowns. In 2020 and 2021, lockdowns took place only once every few months in one or two cities, and the zero COVID policy always ended the breakout within less than a month. At that time, the rest part of China were absolutely normal, as you can see in the videos. However, Omicron's crazy transmission ability in 2022 has led many large cities with dense population into a cycle of continuous lockdowns and reopening, which ultimately led to the end of the zero COVID policy. Nanning is a very lucky city which has never been in a citywide lockdown.

    • @borg386
      @borg386 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @o SSSkellige great! Thanks for the update. Our media over here is sensationalizing the whole thing out of proportion, apparently for whatever reason.
      I believe what boots on the ground like you are saying more than our news.
      Thanks from Florida USA 🇺🇸, and peace to your home and family.

    • @taiwan_sausage
      @taiwan_sausage ปีที่แล้ว

      @@borg386 western reports about china's zero covid policy were heavily distorted. 😂😂😂western reports gave ppl the impression that entire china was under lockdown all the time.....😂😂😂😂
      in actuality, nationwide lockdown ( 200+ cities)only happened once in china between feb - april 2020. even then only wuhan and hubei province practiced strict lockdown order. the rest of china did not. you could still went out doing grocery shopping and work etc....and china went back complete normal after may 2020.
      between may 2020 - nov 2022, china implemented zero covid policy by regulating international travels strictly. due to strict border control & electronic covid tracing, only sporadic outbreaks happened in very few chinese cities ( max 500+ infected cases in each outbreak). so the vast majority of chinese thought covid was gone by summer 2020.
      only when omicron hit china in the 2nd half of 2022, chinese felt covid was back again. during june-nov 2022, there were a dozen chinese megacities hit by lockdown orders. but the situation was not that bad b/c omicron was a weaker variant. eventually china dropped zero covid policy in nov 2022.
