    Though the whole market is referred to as soweto market, but there 4 markets in 1. The first is the "City market" followed by "Old Soweto Market" then "New Soweto Market " lastly is the Soweto "Vegetable Market"

    I used to get sweet potatoes and avocados from my Zambian friends in uni. The produce is top tier quality. Not the gmo food in shops

    Wow i definitely miss home,very good observation,the inside of the market has less activity,that's why it's been a battle to get marketers to remain with the confines of a building rather than on the streets where they have easy access to customers

    Do you know why The woman asked about Kerosine? Those women are in business of floor polish and Kerosine is the main raw material. They boil those red oxide powder with wax in Kerosine to get floor polish. Of late Kerosine is in short supply in Zambia since it's use is quite limited

    Tomatoes you bought for K10 is k6 in mutendere east or even K4.i don't know what happened maybe there's shortage in soweto.
    Food is cheap in Zambia. Only fruits are expensive especially apples because we import.

    A very interesting video! I passed through Soweto market in 2018 but I did not know it is so huge like that. Could be because some of the street vendors have gone there. The new Soweto market is to me just a name because it doesn’t look new. The new government has a big task & they should do proper planning to turn this messy market into a proper modern clean double story market. I wonder how people trade there during rainy season. Thank God that it was safe for you to move there on your own. My hats off to that young girl who helped carry your bag.
