    Lots of recruits have name dropped Blake Gideon as a major factor in their recruitment so that hurts.
    That said I think the turnaround in the secondary is more of a credit to having 3 best friends back there that communicated extremely well. Not sure if they carry that through to this season regardless.

  • @tjjohnson927
    @tjjohnson927 3 วันที่ผ่านมา +7

    Why do Gideon, PK and Joseph get all the credit for this year’s secondary turnaround? Haven’t yall said that Nansen took over the passing game defense before the year started? Seems pretty disingenuous to give these guys credit when the first three years without Nansen as an instrumental part of the defensive staff, wasn’t good

    • @Texasfaninsoonerland
      @Texasfaninsoonerland 3 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

      The pass rush helped our DBs more than anything. That's the Kenny Baker impact.

    • @DTraiN5795
      @DTraiN5795 3 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Lmao everyone gets credit so if you know that just call it out. If they’re only saying those 3 then why take it seriously? People who know football know in 2023 it was some secondary personal and pass rush getting home that made triple digits in pass against numbers. Then older personal plus a portal addition along with one of nations best pass rush changed things. Pass rush makes things so much easier. Ask Rod lol he had monsters. Then the coaching ofc should get love. PK got hated on until you could see year to year getting better bc we actually got better players. People really don’t seem to realize we didn’t have the best players and/or Tom Herman didn’t develop players either when Sark and Staff took over

    Rod he was a good player and people are just stick in the past too much. One game doenst come down to one play and neither downs a career. Those people sending death threats and saying bad things are stuck in their miserable lives. People think too much about that and Colt getting hurt in the Natty. Like get over it already. Only time I think about it is when it gets brought up and I bleed burnt orange. It’s why too many Texas fans are entitled. Thinking too much about the past. It’s not like it was the Georgia SEC champ game this last year were the refs called an unfair game. Players like Gideon put their heart out on the field. So what he messed up one play. It happens and we move on. Well some of us do
