Out of all the cancelled Megaman projects. Star Force 4 is the one I have the most mixed feelings about. The whole thing of Lan's descendant appearing, makes me think that they would have delved deeper into what happened to Net Navis when PETs started to go out of fashion... On the other hand, Geo becoming an outlaw hacker... It makes it feel like going out of their way to null Star Force 3's wonderful ending.
@film fan Uh, you kinda... CANT! The game has been long since cancelled! Closest thing to it is a in-development fangame that takes some elements of what little was revealed about the game.
@@kuraux56s59 megaman breaks my heart with cancelled sequels man, legends 3, zx 3, x9, starforce 4, etc. We don't have any confirmations for some of these but cmon, most of these series ended up in cliffhangers, hopefully the franchise gets revived a bit more with the collections
@@justanothergabs4710 *SPIT* I dont have any faith in Capcom to deliver in any of those. I have far more faith in the staff of Super Robot Wars delivering proper conclusion to each unfinished Megaman saga, as they have done with tons of unfinished series in the past. As unlikely as the possibility of any Megaman series in a console SRW game is.
It’s so sad the Megaman rpg series ended, but it sure went strong when it was at its peak. I love how this era of Megaman adopted Tokusatsu elements showing the heroes take on transformations in human form!
I mean even though I liked it it kind of sucks that Battle Network 4 was like the highest selling of the battle networks because that game turned off a lot of newcomers who adamantly refuse to play the other game that came before it because they thought it was horrible and then the two games after that and Battle Network 5 and 6 were really good but especially with all the people that started with four not wanting to play it after 4 and how bad it was kind of destroyed the series and I didn't even know strikeforce was a thing until way into the 3DS era and I never got it a try and twice just recently got StarForce 3 with a double sale with double team DS when I ordered it off Amazon I would love for them to make a new series for the modern consoles it doesn't even need to be you know a strike force for or a battle Network 7 but something like this would be beautiful
Words can't describe how much Star Force 3 (Black Ace specifically) means to me. It was my introduction to Mega Man, RPGs, and many little things that I like to see in games. The music, the characters, and gameplay really makes this one of my absolute favorite games ever! Stinks that my 3DS is on the verge of death nowadays, since before that was the case, I couldn't stop returning to this game! I even still have the same save file from all the way back then. *Although I never actually finished the post-game...*
1:00:00 Sirius being destroy by Area Eater is sort of an irony poetic by design, through the whole Post game, he's been known and show himself enjoying taking things from others for grant and is not ashamed of the act. So when you, the player took away his battlefield in the fight, it's basically the ultimate karma served cold.
You really see Geo's personality brighter than ever in this game. That's one of the highlights I remember in this game most. His clear sign of character progression.
@@DESTRAKON Solo got more fleshed out and i like how much the devs gave to him besides trying link him to mu but also give him a reason why he has a disdain for bonds so much.
I'm hoping with Battle Network getting a Switch collection, Starforce will soon follow. I'm really hoping it's possible, because Starforce was my favorite Mega Man series (flaws and all), it was my introduction to the series as a whole.
Plus the game isn't overly reliant on the dual screen to adapt to a single screen Switch, in fact Switch DO have touch sensibility if they want to keep things like the Wave Command function (which in SF2 is kinda like legal Action Replay with the bonkers options you get xD)
Playing Battle Network and Star Force during my childhood was a wild ride. You've done a fantastic job covering all 9 games. I always loved the computer aesthetic with a mix of trading card game and real time action mechanics. It's really amazing how good the writing in SF3 was. Here's a fun fact: The localizers didn't realize it, but Alohaha is the same island as Scissor Island. This is the island Lily and WindMan.EXE from BN4 are from. There's another BN4 SF3 parallel for you.
What's crazy is SF3 still sold much better than most of the classic and X series. You would be shocked how little most of the X games sold and new games just kept getting greenlit. I'm still holding out hope Star Force 4 could still release someday, the Capcom interest survey earlier this year I specifically mentioned it wasn't too late to revive SF4 development.
@@sarthakarora3212 I believe he was mentioning and comparing *only* the recent X and Classic games to SF3 in particular that Star Force was pretty popular despite its niche appeal and can still give Capcom a boost in confidence to revive the series. Nothing about talking down on X and Classic. Just Star Force definitely has some pretty good appeal for a Mega Man series.
I'll never be able to get over how in order to break the game all about friendship, you have to abandon the ability to have friends and embrace sword fighter x
Plus rogue noise(in my personal opinion) is the coolest noise form, design wise. its worth it not having friends for that form.....and its even better looking(my opinion again) than red joker, not black ace though. The freedom strike look of black ace form is amazing
I was really looking forward for this video. I truly enjoyed how you made it. Both the EXE series and the Starforce series hold a special place in my heart. I could not put both their final entries down, and while I'm sad we didn't get a Starforce 4, as you said, it was quite a ride. That last part where you made the anime slideshow with all forms and the theme has made me cry. So beautiful. Thanks for the video!
I remember my dad buying me black ace for a dollar (A GOD DAMN DOLLAR MY GOD) at Walmart in the discount bin on a whim, and I remember loving the game for a very long time. I loved it so much that I bought every other game in the series that came to the west. My purchasing habit of this series was so bad that I would buy them whenever I saw them and now I own like 6 copies of ZerkerxSauran, 3 copies of ZerkerxNinja, 4 copies each of the Starforce 1 trio, and 2 copies of the Starforce 3 duo
I am so happy to see the conclusion of this series and the series in general being talked about I randomly bought these games from a game stop years ago and have deeply loved all 3 ever since. For you question about Laplace. Solo and Laplace don’t go into too much detail but Laplace is a Wizard from Mu which helped him open up a little more because he now doesn’t feel as alone.
@@unknownuser494 so that may apply that Mu also had Wizard and Hunter-VG tech back then too. that or like Omega, he was an EM body integrated into a wizard and that he's so silent that Solo took a liking to him.
45:44 Well non-human characters getting brutalized usually makes it past cencors. Every version of Shredder in the 4kids TMNT (not counting the Mirage Comics and 80s Shredders) happened to not be human and died on-screen, with Cyber Shredder in particular getting a horrifically brutal death scene. It's almost as though the shows producers either specifically made them not human to this end or specifically decided to take advantage of the fact they weren't and considering Utrom Shredder only really died in Turtles Forever (ironically killed by the terminally incompetent 4kids Bebop and Rocksteady in 80s Shredder's Technodrome), which came out well after the show ended, I'm not sure which.
@@unknownuser494 Only because of how good 3 was. After mmbn3, the popularity of battle network was at it's peak so of course fans are gonna buy the new game.
I cannot stress enough how much of a masterpiece Starforce 3 was. Red Joker is the one I've played and it quite literally formed my early-middle school childhood. In an era where most people I know moved on to the Vita and 3DS, my broke self stuck with the DS and a couple of legendary games, including this one, countless hours on my belt and despite not truly 100% finishing this game, I had a blast. To say the game resonated so hard with me is an understatement and seeing these videos covering it makes me happy. Congratulations Monger for finishing the whole MegaMan RPG saga, and looking forward for your coverage of the story-driven platformer MegaMan games!!👍👍👍
Bushido Gemini Wolf was a MENACE on Nintendo Wifi connection back in the day, I still have nightmares about fighting those guys. So I became one of them.
I’m really surprised that SF3 didn’t sell well. With shitty websites like IGN, etc, it’s no surprise that it has gotten bad reviews. That story was such a great piece to explore, and the character development was on point.
Rogue Noise has been one of my favorites thanks to the MuBarrier it gave you. It also made up for lack of NFBs through sword fighter cards dealing stupid amounts of damage.
@@NianJKL I do, account name is the same as my TH-cam username tho admittedly the inspiration isn’t too noticeable, but I did try using a few ideas like Acid Ace’s booster wings
1:04:10 I live in Europe. I remember being 14y old and was hyped that SF3 was announced, only to be disappointed to know that it isn't localized in EU. Well, I pirated it, but I always felt bad, because I wanted the series to continue and would have spent money to get both games. Also, The reviews are hilarious, because they don't make any sense. Like, the music was godlike in this game.
Easily one of the best games out there. I still have my OG copy with the manual and the case. Black Ace is around $2-$300 nowadays which is crazy to say. I can't recommend this game enough. Great music, great story, great gameplay. A truly wonderful send off to an amazing series. God, I just want more Megaman
I really wish capcom can just release the last 2 collections starforce and legends or maybe an all in one next gen version? with all the games. star force was a good series but always easier imo. I still remember the noise card controversy good times 😅
I’ve been really looking forward to this review, Megaman Starforce is one of my favorite video games and favorite stories of all time. The game holds a special place in my heart, thank you for covering this! I hope we see more of Starforce someday, maybe in the form of a legacy collection or elsewhere. I even pulled all the Starforce characters on Dive just to enjoy the characters a bit more. Great job man!
The battle network and Star Force series is the series i love, im really glad to see you make a great review about this games. Hope for Star Force Legacy collection coming sooon
Probably won't be until at least 2025 but I refuse to give up hope! I'm hoping if the BN legacy collection does well enough that it will show Capcom that there is still so much love for both of these series.
Thank you for tackling this trilogy! The only megaman games I ever really played, but I adored Geo's story start to finish and I'll always be upset how unknown it is.
Believe it or not, but the Laplace EM entity Solo(Rogue) has is a Lunar Knights Eater Egg since the spaceship the new versions of Django and Sabatha use to go to space is named Laplace. Even in the end, Starforce still has connections to its Crossover
Having commented on your star force 2 video on how I liked SF2 despite its weird story and random encounters, I wasn’t sure if the hype for SF3 was overrating it or not and man I’m glad it wasn’t. SF3, just like mmbn6 ended things with a bang. I wasn’t a fan of the new battle card system (I knew it was to prevent abusing giga cards but still) but everything else gets a 💯 in my book. The gameplay and story were the best out of the 9 mega man RPG games. I just wish we could see starforce 4. It would’ve been amazing to see Geo as a wanted fugitive after he’s spent the previous 3 entries becoming a hero loved by all.
TO better avoid Dread Joker's rapid fire, you have to have your OWN rapid fire to fight his at an impasse. There is a special Giga Chip to make your buster really fast. The result is awesome.
999.99% worth the wait !! I'm soo glad it's finally out ! You did a great job at doing this game justice ! It is my favourite DS series of all time !! (tightly followed by the Ace Attorney series.) I hope the megaman switch collection give people an opportunity to find this gem... Because they are missing something. As Geo didn't give up hope multiple time in the series, I won't stop hoping for that sweet sweeeeeet SF4 ! And btw, that 1:07:19 part, you won't believe how much it pulled on my heartstring. Nicely done ! Thanks for your hard work !!
I remember loving the 3rd Starforce game back when it first released. So much improvement was made and real effort was shown in the making of the game. And story is criminally better, which is why I felt sad to find out this game sold less. Now with the Battle Network Legacy Collection coming out soon, I hope a Starforce Collection get announced after to give people a chance to play this trilogy of games.
Closing the Megaman RPG cycle with a High Note, maybe we didnt got Starforce 4 and capcom dont release new megaman games, but what we got right here is worth playing for its story, gameplay and music, and the comunity will keep them from beign forgotten. Great video mog.
So before watching the video, I wanna share my experience with these games. I played Starforce 1 when it came out and I LOVED it. Sadly, I wasn't aware when the second game released and living in Spain I didn't even could play the third installment. Then one day I saw your videos from megaman battle network and found out about the Starforce one. And it came to me, all the good times with the game. So I started to find for the games in second hand markets and bought the first and the second. And man, how fun was the first game, better than I remmebered it. Then I played the second and it was so boring for me... But watching your review on it made me realise its good things. So I could get my hands in one copy of the third game and I was so impressed about everything: story, gameplay, characters... I kept getting surprised with all the events. And Im so happy I can see now your review on it. Just starting, I realised I DIDN'T KNOW HOW TO PLAY seeing all the things you explain about the fights xD And thank you so much for these videos, you made me reconnect with this saga and I was able to enjoy it
Geo just glancing at Crimson Dragon before the final battle, boy that was so good! Loved your reviews, entertaining and eloquent. Keep up the good work!
I spent most of my Highschool Years hunting down Starforce 3, I found Pegasus and Zerker X Saurian while looking and then last week I finally found two copies of Black Ace in Moncton, and the game has been wonderful
Ending with the opening theme for StarForce legit brought a tear to my eye, I have nothing but nostalgia for StarForce dragon. It was the only MegaMan RPG that grasped me and I still play the game from time to time, especially now waiting for battle network legacy collection. I'm super hopeful this series also gets a collection
It does my heart good to see Starforce get the love it deserves, even after all this time. With the news of the Battle Network legacy collection coming next year, there might even be a smidgen of hope that we'll see a re-release of Starforce in the future.
finally watched this video after finishing sf 3 and is it weird i got really emotional at 1:07:19 it's just that megaman star force pegasus is a beloved childhood game of mine and getting to finish black ace almost 10 years later really made me look back and think of the fond memories i had with my metallic rose ds lite.... welp time to replay sf 1 with the dx patch because you really motivated me to revisit it :) thank you for making these videos reminding me how great of a series star force is! and here's hoping for a star force legacy collection because if battle network has one sf totally deserves it too!!
Monger! Thank you so much for shedding light to the Megaman RPG series. MMBN and MMSF was one of my favorite games as a kid and to this day no one seems to do a proper documentary of the series' in respectable fashion. I wish there were more channels like you in YT 💌
SF3 was peak. Not only for SF series but personally, for me too. Really great story, good post game, a lot of mechanics and probably the best forms designs for Megaman forms. Black Ace is still somewhere in my mind, impacting my design. And Rouge Noise - bruh, this can be so OP if set right
Playing Megaman Starforce series during my Childhood felt really phenomenal. It motivates me to socialise with people around me and turn my life around.
While it is something present on all the StarForce saga, 3 really brought out the dynamic between Geo and Mega when it allowed Mega to interact more naturally to everyone else on the cast, comparing this to the fact both Lan and Megaman were extremely interchangeable in matters of interaction and dynamic, with a very thin layer of "responsible sibling vs lazy sibling".
Although one thing straight out the bat they stablished with Geo + Omega compared to Lan + Megaman was the balance of "functional braincells". When binge-playing some of battle Network, I noticed how Lan is IRREDEEMABLY STUPID! Like holy shit that kid could read a dictionary and not get past the letter A xD Megaman.exe have to pretty much explain him how to BREATHE. Geo on the other hand is the actual genius, although emotionaly weak, where Omega-xis is hardheaded, he is no stupid either, being more expert in the EM stuff and lacking in human knowledge, so Geo and Omega fix each other's flaws perfectly! Without Megaman.Exe Lan wouldn't make past the front door of his house ¬¬
Thanks so much for making this series of videos. You've re-ignited my love for battlenetwork, and even made me want to give Star Force a second real try. I played Star Force 1 when it 1st came out, but the 3rd person camera itself made me not want to play it. 16 years? (jesus christ its been that long?) later I hope I've matured enough to not let that bother me.
The Crimson Dragon, the Red Shooting Star (in Japanese its Akai Ryuusei, ehich is Shooting Star) VS The Blue Bomber, Shooting Star Megaman (in Japanese thats his actualy title and name, Ryuusei no Rockman, also what he says when he EM Wave Change is that) also, the Sonia Strumm/Hibiki Misora song is basically a love declaration to Geo Stelar/Hoshikawa Subaru
The Star Force franchise means a ton to me especially this game growing up my copy of Red Joker was probably the game I revisited the most and I even still have it sadly it doesn't work the best anymore. This series of videos has been a lot of fun and a great source of nostalgia and as much as I would have loved for SF4 to have come out SF3's ending is something I feel is too perfect for me to ever want a sequel to it. Thanks for bringing some attention to this series Monger.
Thanks for the incredible sf video. Megaman Star Force 3 has become my favourite game after i played it. im hooked with the gameplay, design (like black ace), gimmick, and especially the story where geo got an amazing character development. It's kinda bitter sweet for star force series where im really happy to see what happened to geo where he got what he wanted at the end and a happy ending. on the other hand sf supposed to get 3rd anime and 4th game which i found got interesting concept like hacking and lan's descendant that unfortunately got cancelled. hope that sf4 still given a chance one day.
The Crab Rave video in the back during Cancer form has me deceased. Also the clip of the spider nuke.🤣🤣 Considering how we could have gotten a continuation of Solo's development with the last teaser from the postgame in SF4 hurts me. There was a bunch set up in 3 that could have been explored more. I had fanfic plans and everything.
Coming back almost a year later just to show my love for this game ❤ I remember being so hyped for these games to be localized back in 2008. The new noise system looked amazing, and while I was excited to try the combinations of the different forms, Rogue noise stole my heart due to my love of the character and sword battle chips/cards. I cannot wait for these games to get a re-release, I won't like hunting down all of the cards/programs again but it'll be a fun trip down memory lane
OH MY GOD!!! EXCELLENT JOB, DUDE!!! I still miss the Star Force series and wish they made 4 to this day. Honestly, MegaMan as a JRPG spinoff series was absolutely fantastic idea. I really hope Capcom does another one again for the Blue Bomber. If they won't make another platformer for the main series, then the Battle Network and Star Force games are prime examples on how to keep the franchise going into the future.
Megaman Starforce will always been in my personal top 3 series. Not just because of how much I adored them, to be quite honest, I wouldn't have met the people I did in the little xat chatroom of Project-800, meet some of my friends, and my current friend group. Chances are, my hobbies and likes would probably be very very VERY different. I really hope we get a Switch Collection of this game, for the sole reason of nostalgia for me, and for me to introduce these games to my current friend group. I remember 100% both Leo, Zerker, and Saurian. And forever being 1 M card away from 100% Black Ace (Damn you noise for randomizing and increasing during v3 fights when I need v2 card) Watching the three starforce videos brought back a lot of very very fond memories. So thank you for taking time to play through these games, and giving me an excuse to remember this game again.
I think my only personal issue with SF3 was that Harp Note was kind of just there for the whole game. There is no boss fight with her optional or otherwise, her Battlecard doesn't appear anywhere not even as illegal data and she didn't have a noise form despite all the other FMians getting one. Sonia got some good character moments, but Harp Note was kind of just left out of all the fun.
It truly is the best of Starforce, but the only thing I don’t like about it is that there’s no Harp Note battle. She kept her from promise from 2, but I always included her Battle Card in my deck up till 3. I read online that it’s an extremely rare drop, but who knows if that’s true. With the Legacy Collection coming I hope they could at least continue this timeline with a new MegaMan. A Legacy Collection for Starforce seems difficult since the Switch doesn’t have a second screen. Maybe the Switch’s successor will be a designed better for Starforce.
I LITERALLY JUST REALIZED SOMETHING! in the post game, Mega says they're close to the galactic core when you make it to OuterSpace Wave road 1. you see pillars that are actually Communication devices made by Kalvin and his crew. THIS MEANS THAT HUMANITY HAS HAD FTL TRAVEL AT THEIR FINGERTIPS! think about how quickly the space station piece fell back to earth after the Station was attacked and how fast they made it too that point (like, literal months instead of years and such).
43:14 Oh MAN did that happen to me. I somehow, before the Spade Magnus scenario, randomly encountered DarkPhantom(Omega). He ripped me apart in a heartbeat leaving me SUPER confused at how that even happened and why it lets you survive. This was supposedly a one in a million thing and I just got very lucky. Then in the Studio Parking Lot, not even having started Diamond Ice’s Scenario yet, I RAN INTO HIM AGAIN!!! And he floored me just as easily! Hadn’t even seen him yet. I thought Ghost Data from the other game’s bosses was swimming around since I have both of them and had beaten both of them before. What a twin set of moments.
Man I miss the Starforce series. It'll always be my favorite of the Mega Man spinoffs. Hopefully we do get a collection game for the Switch like Battle Network did.
Starforce 3 is definitely my favorite of the three games and it's evident by how this was the first Starforce game I managed to get all stars. And the post game was definitely the best in all of the starforce games. My only gripe is how they utterly nerfed Rogue by removing his super armor. I spent most of my post-game just battling Rogue over and over because he's my favourite boss of any megaman game and also the strongest in ZZ form. Its just a shame that he lost the super armor from the past game as it would've made him a lot more challenging.
Amazing video, making justice to one of the best love letters of MegaMan franchise. StarForce is my childhood and I will never get tired of looking back to it. Thanks Monker. ;)
I am now deeply considering getting this game series thanks to your videos. I initially avoided it when I was younger but now...I think I like change ~
Man i remember MMSF3 one of the most memorable final bosses where you had to end it with the ultimate, black ace definitely had the cool factor being just one attack obliterating a black hole. Red Gia Eraser was cool but it would have been better as something from the first 2 SF games, should have thrown a sun down like a spirit bomb imo.
1:07:03 We know how it worked out, It's the River Song dance (kudos to anyone who still gets that reference). Operate Shooting Star was Lan's first encounter and Geo's last, SF2 had Geo and Lan meeting for their second time each, and SF1 had Geo's first time and Lan's last time meeting eachother. You can tell by how much they know of eachother in each encounter. It's been theoriezed these encounters lead to Geo seeking out Lan's descendant in SF4, but the fan backlash both at home and abroad quckly strangled SF4. People didn't take kindly to Geo's police status getting nixed by plot inconvenience so soon after Ace's untimely passing, and rightfully so.
idk if anyone noticed this before, but Geo's poses on the two cover are reminiscent of Hub's poses on MMBN6's covers but the version exclusive forms' passive abilities are on the opposite cover (i.e. Black Ace and F.Beast Megaman.exe both having Air Shoes and Floatshoes, but Geo's pose on BA's cover is the same as Hub's on Gregar's cover, and vice versa)
Man. Starforce 3: Red Joker was one of my favorite DS games growing up. So glad to see it get the attention it deserves as the penultimate of the formula. I played the entire series in a very wacky order when I first got into them: BN3W, BN4RS, BN5TC, SF3RJ, BN1, SF1P, SF2SxN, BCC, BN2, BN1:OSS, BN6F (I could never find a reasonably priced copy of BN6 back then, so I never actually played it until getting into hacking my 3DS to play OSS); thus my experience is quite different than many I knew at the time. But it also means that I caught onto all the BN4 and 5 callbacks that SF3 made super early on lol. It was a super great experience I wouldn't trade for anything. Thanks again for the trip down memory lane as I prep for the BN collection to come out, and hope more people notice this game.
I'm so glad you gave this series the attention and love it so desperately needs! I cannot wait for the Battle Network Collection. I do want Capcom to show Mega Man some more love, and give the fans a new iteration of the Blue Bomber! A new Mega Man RPG series with new characters and new powers (maybe start pulling from the X Series for the powers/forms)?
An actual definitive ending to a series with all the previously earned powers being internalized instead of simply disappearing with no explanation? That alone is worthy of celebration.
According to the anime, the star force cards used all their powers and got destroyed when fighting Andromeda, so they didn't appear in tribe, as for the ooparts, maybe they disappeared after Subaru turned to tribe king and went back, along with the gate
1:03:30 Think it's worth noting that Clockman is another design contest winner submitted for a _Star Force_ contest as Clock Genius. Considering he came from the Star Force part of the timeline, this change makes absolutely _no_ sense.
I can say without a doubt that these games are some of my favorites ever. The stories of them are just so touching and give me such joy. With the BN collection coming one can only hope Starforce will make its return!
1:10:39 - 1:10:59 I honestly thought both Battle Network and Star Force would be one collection like Zero/ZX did, but I understand why they made this option of doing battle network only. I think i saw the news The day or 2 after it's announcement, the time I saw your mega man battle network video so I am pretty excited to play them, Especially since i haven't beaten 1-3 yet, in fact now that i remember it, I hardly played 3 white (I play them through emulation before accidentally deleting them and not even caring too much)
I'm so glad I found the Starforce series on DS. I enjoyed the adventure the whole way through, aside from getting lost in the wave roads of SF2. Hopefully the Battle Network Collection does lead to a Starforce Collection.
43:36 Makes me wonder if the anime had continued, would've they have deviated drastically from the original plot to focus on a group of solo wizards fought by a loose not-quite-a-team group of EM Wave/Noise Change warriors? ...Wait Wow, this game really _is_ a lot like Mega Man Battle Network 4 but _also_ mashed together with Rockman exe Stream. It even has its own version of Baryl with Ace.
Will always be wondering how awesome that SF4 game could've been. The leaks and info we got a few years back about it being aged up and more mature would've been such a cool thing to see. That and you know you being on the run with Lan's hacker prodigy descendant means we could've had some really cool story moments. So long as they didn't do the cliche he's the final bad guy move we even could've had a double Mega Man led game. No way Mega Man.exe wouldn't have some type of appearance in game. Oh what could've been
Having Lan's descendants a bad guy would make a pretty compelling story imo. Having a Hero's descendant turn into villain is something we never see in a megaman game(yeah we all know X was supposed to be the villain of Zero series but it was changed at the last moment of development so it doesn't count).
I still remember my first playthrough of this game. I'm not a native english speaker, and had the game in english, of course, so it was a little hard to understand some stuff for me at the time. But most importantly, I picked without much thoutgh the item to rescue on the water, and got Luna's, so I got Lunas dialogue scene, understanding half of it, and then her death.. damn, that took me by surprise really.
Fun little fact about the voice acting in this game. The voice actor for Geo is the same one who voiced him in the dub of the StarForce anime. That's a level of fan service I was not expecting, especially since said dub was canceled midway through production....right when they were going to get to the best part of the story. Yes I'm still bitter. Why do you ask?
Honest The relationships of Geo with Sonia and Luna are amazing So much that I lament the fact that there isn't much +18 doujins about Sonia x Geo compared to Luna ( most of them being so wholesome or giving them a married life in an alternative timeline ) Gotta play the games again Now with Star Force One having that romhack, and recently finding that Star Force 2 is doing the aame I am hoping someone would do it with 3, including all the Japanese exclusive content that wasn't localized as it was done with SF 1
Libra is actually great form, if you have friends. because multinoising changes your weaknes to the other noise. Also. MY "ART" MADE IT INTO THE VIDEO!
I firmly believe that Starforce 3 had been just the thing series needed to revitalize itself. It did just... EVERYTHING right with the series, from the characters, to the plot, to the wonderful ending. But unfortunately by that point, Capcom had pretty much given up on them overall. Between the harsh critics that bashed the first game and SF2 just doing poorly overall. They essentially through in the towel despite how well SF3 was doing. And it showed when I learned they scrapped the 4th, which STILL hurts me to this day. I didn't even know were SUPPOSED to get another game with an older Geo and Crew. I would've LOVED to have seen that. Still. I'm hoping that, with the BN Legacy Collection coming out, and the eventual Starforce Legacy Collection (Cause we ALL know it's coming) It'll bring in fans old and new. And potentially give Capcom incentive to revive Starforce 4. Wishful thinking on my part, but hey, if Megaman got an 11th game in the series. I'm holding on hope that Starforce, Legends and many other canceled installments might get some attention too.
Amazing video and I hate to shill but I'd love to see more people joining the amazing starforce 3 pvp community, I have videos of fights in my channel with the discord link in the description. Keep up the great work, I am glad more people are still talking about this game.
Just gotta put this out there but the recent discovery of Starforce 4 really gave fans of the sub series a hole in their heart
I’ve known about it for years. It still kills me inside after the masterpiece that was SF3.
Especially Kamen Rider during the StarForce trilogy, mostly notes from the Heisei Era
Imagine a modern day Battle Network rpg.
ZX and Star Force deserve better
Hopefully if the sales for the Battle Network Legacy Collection are good it might convince Capcom to try again
I normally don’t comment, but your comment… y e s
You might want to continue the post game, the secret boss is one hell of a fight
Sirius is one hell of a boss I suggest you actually check it out. The only real requirement is the 150 standard cards in the library really.
The post game slaps.
@N the Ultimate Are you my clone? That’s me to a T
There will never be another game like Star Force or MMBN. Period. Those games were all i had constant moving different fosterhomes growing up.
You really see Geo's personality brighter than ever in this game. That's one of the highlights I remember in this game most. His clear sign of character progression.
Dude even Solo loosened up a bit cause of him, that’s a neat little touch
@@DESTRAKON Solo got more fleshed out and i like how much the devs gave to him besides trying link him to mu but also give him a reason why he has a disdain for bonds so much.
Facts.
I think geo had the best character development among every MegaMan protagonist
I'm hoping with Battle Network getting a Switch collection, Starforce will soon follow.
I'm really hoping it's possible, because Starforce was my favorite Mega Man series (flaws and all), it was my introduction to the series as a whole.
Plus the game isn't overly reliant on the dual screen to adapt to a single screen Switch, in fact Switch DO have touch sensibility if they want to keep things like the Wave Command function (which in SF2 is kinda like legal Action Replay with the bonkers options you get xD)
@@MrKlausbaudelaire Are they even adding the chip gate and e-reader functions to MMBN LC?
It's not a "Switch collection", it's for PS4 and Steam too.
@@mattwo7 Whatever, that is the way I'm playing it
@@mattwo7 no idea, but considering all of Switch's functionality, it wouldn't be impossible to even add the wifi battles.
Note that Buds current Taurus wizard is actually just a copy of the real one recreated from the data that still exists within Bud.
Exactly, it was stated in SF2 that there is still EM residue in Buds body after being possessed.
Peak Mega Man right here. It was worth it going through MMSF2 to get to this one.
idk what you're talking about
2 is the best one :]
Star Force 3 took what was already a good series and made it legendary and unforgettable.
SF3 was LEGENDARY!!!
What's crazy is SF3 still sold much better than most of the classic and X series. You would be shocked how little most of the X games sold and new games just kept getting greenlit.
I'm still holding out hope Star Force 4 could still release someday, the Capcom interest survey earlier this year I specifically mentioned it wasn't too late to revive SF4 development.
really?
You are comparing the market x vs starforce. The very fact X is mainstream despite having less sales should tell you it did way better.
@@sarthakarora3212 In what way?
@@sarthakarora3212 I believe he was mentioning and comparing *only* the recent X and Classic games to SF3 in particular that Star Force was pretty popular despite its niche appeal and can still give Capcom a boost in confidence to revive the series. Nothing about talking down on X and Classic. Just Star Force definitely has some pretty good appeal for a Mega Man series.
I'll never be able to get over how in order to break the game all about friendship, you have to abandon the ability to have friends and embrace sword fighter x
true
You can always just use Gemini Noise and/or Wolf Noise.
@@TheAzulmagianah I'm all in for just Rogue noise
Yeah it's a creative mechanic in a series chock full of 'em. But not dissimilar from the ones introduced in 4 and 5 with Dark Chips/Dark Megaman.
Thanks for the video!

i wonder if Laplace sword would be?
If I am right Laplace also appear after the destruction of Le mu.
Sajin Komamura from Bleach is notorious for this reason.

STAR FORCE is outta this world
1:04:10 I live in Europe.
At long last, my favorite Mega Man game of all time is being covered. Seriously SF3 is a game that will always have special place in my heart.
Easily one of the best games out there. I still have my OG copy with the manual and the case. Black Ace is around $2-$300 nowadays which is crazy to say.
I can't recommend this game enough. Great music, great story, great gameplay. A truly wonderful send off to an amazing series.

We’ll see. It’s just that the BNLC needs to sell well for SFLC to get a green light

Just starting, I realised I DIDN'T KNOW HOW TO PLAY seeing all the things you explain about the fights xD
And thank you so much for these videos, you made me reconnect with this saga and I was able to enjoy it
Geo just glancing at Crimson Dragon before the final battle, boy that was so good!
Yes give me geo back.

I wasn’t there for the live streams but seeing you play this through the archives was great
SF3 was peak. Not only for SF series but personally, for me too. Really great story, good post game, a lot of mechanics and probably the best forms designs for Megaman forms. Black Ace is still somewhere in my mind, impacting my design. And Rouge Noise - bruh, this can be so OP if set right
LONG LIVE STAR FORCE!!
Playing Megaman Starforce series during my Childhood felt really phenomenal. It motivates me to socialise with people around me and turn my life around.
25:48 Huh, now I kind of wonder how Omega would get along with Vice from Kamen Rider Revice. They have a lot in common.

Solo's wizard came from the very last remnants of Mu. When he was defeated, the remains created one last FM body, this one being Solo's now wizard.
Thanks for the review. It was a blast listening to you go through them all.
The Crimson Dragon, the Red Shooting Star (in Japanese its Akai Ryuusei, ehich is Shooting Star)
VS
The Blue Bomber, Shooting Star Megaman (in Japanese thats his actualy title and name, Ryuusei no Rockman, also what he says when he EM Wave Change is that)
also, the Sonia Strumm/Hibiki Misora song is basically a love declaration to Geo Stelar/Hoshikawa Subaru
Or alternatively, just use bits of Star Force 4's original concepts to everything else...
And forever being 1 M card away from 100% Black Ace (Damn you noise for randomizing and increasing during v3 fights when I need v2 card)
Watching the three starforce videos brought back a lot of very very fond memories.
Sonia got some good character moments, but Harp Note was kind of just left out of all the fun.
same, i kinda wished we gotten her battle card at least.
Such great coverage of both of these series!! Thank you for all your hard work towards something so cherished to me growing up
Starforce 3 is definitely my favorite of the three games and it's evident by how this was the first Starforce game I managed to get all stars.
People didn't take kindly to Geo's police status getting nixed by plot inconvenience so soon after Ace's untimely passing, and rightfully so.
idk if anyone noticed this before, but Geo's poses on the two cover are reminiscent of Hub's poses on MMBN6's covers
but the version exclusive forms' passive abilities are on the opposite cover (i.e.
Man, I remember getting my 3DS and being excited about the prospect of a new RPG series for the new handheld. I still cry.
34:26 Haha, "Hope". We're lucky to have her.
1:03:30 Think it's worth noting that Clockman is another design contest winner submitted for a _Star Force_ contest as Clock Genius. Considering he came from the Star Force part of the timeline, this change makes absolutely _no_ sense.
Excellent Video!!! All the points that I was hyped for and more, you covered real good. Hats off to you!!!
Babe wake up, new RPG Monger video
I can say without a doubt that these games are some of my favorites ever. The stories of them are just so touching and give me such joy. With the BN collection coming one can only hope Starforce will make its return!
I’ve missed your videos so much and I love this series immensely. Thank you for your hardwork and I look forward to the next video

I honestly thought both Battle Network and Star Force would be one collection like Zero/ZX did, but I understand why they made this option of doing battle network only.
I think i saw the news The day or 2 after it's announcement, the time I saw your mega man battle network video so I am pretty excited to play them, Especially since i haven't beaten 1-3 yet, in fact now that i remember it, I hardly played 3 white (I play them through emulation before accidentally deleting them and not even caring too much)
How solo got his wizard: He went to mcdonalds & wanted a big mac meal, he got it along with Laplace who was like "Plz gimmie happy meal"
Funny part is humor word also revealed that solo is a huge fan of "burger simulator" so possibly..
Honest
The relationships of Geo with Sonia and Luna are amazing
So much that I lament the fact that there isn't much +18 doujins about Sonia x Geo compared to Luna ( most of them being so wholesome or giving them a married life in an alternative timeline )
Gotta play the games again
Now with Star Force One having that romhack, and recently finding that Star Force 2 is doing the aame
I am hoping someone would do it with 3, including all the Japanese exclusive content that wasn't localized as it was done with SF 1
Still waiting on the Legacy Collection.
PLEASEEEEE CAPCOM PLEASE PLEASE
I had a classmate who LOVED the Star Force and Battle Network Megaman games. I couldn't get into either myself though (was more into Megaman Legends).
Legends was great! Sadly around this time too is when Legends 3 would be cancelled
Absolutely stelar Mong, thank you for doing what you do man and thank you for letting the community in on this and helping you out
You mean geo stellar?
I loved StarForce 3 red joker. Luna is best girl imo
Amazing video and I hate to shill but I'd love to see more people joining the amazing starforce 3 pvp community, I have videos of fights in my channel with the discord link in the description.
Keep up the great work, I am glad more people are still talking about this game.
