Like the variety of topics. The cake is always archery or hunting related, but you frost it with completely different topics. You are doing a great job!
Great podcast guys keep up the good work. I really enjoyed the fireside chat all the different conversations you guys have are great as far as political. I think you should speak your mind. Freedom of speech.
Just got back from a northern BC moose hunt with my dad. Those guides were awesome and they paid very close attentive to US politics. Honestly, I felt bad for them. No "right" to own a firearm at all was crazy to talk with somebody about. Just the differences between here and Canada made me so thankful for our rights. But you're right. Our freedoms are important and mean more, I think than it's taught. People take it for granted for sure.
I think its important for us all to talk about the things that are relevant. One of the reasons it is important for the other side to put on this facade of people liking her, is to make everyone question ‘is there something I am missing? Everyone else is doing it.’ By having these conversations it removes some of that feeling that no one else agrees with how I think and really the gaslighting that happens from the other side. Thanks for another great podcast.
I think being conservative in archery is pretty safe. I wear a MAGA hat to every 3D/field indoor shoot I’ve done over the last few years, no ones has said shit other then “I like your hat” I am in rural Texas so that might be why
I’m in Texas too, I’m left leaning but love to hunt and fish. I would never say anything to you or anyone else about their maga gear. You have freedom to believe what you want just the same as I do. I may think it’s dumb to broadcast political affiliation but I think the same about people wearing Harris/walz hats and shirts as I do about people wearing Trump or maga gear.
@@riptideoutdoors6353 But you’re kind of the exception, most left leaning people would say something or at least voice there opinion. I have a lot of political conversations at these shoots and don’t run into many opposing viewpoints. Maybe there just afraid to disagree, idk🤷♂️
@@Texaslivinoutdoors i personally try to stay out of politics with strangers especially while at work with my customers but I’m not sure how I would feel about an archery tournament. If someone asked me I would probably try to defer but if they were persistent I’m willing to share and discuss my beliefs but I feel like most people want to try and change the other persons mind or reinforce their own beliefs rather than having a constructive conversation to understand the other side better. I’m definitely not afraid or ashamed of my views I just don’t see the point with how polarizing politics are. I’ve got friends who are very liberal and I’ve got friends who are very conservative we can talk politics and stay civil and stay friends but I know several people, mainly customers of my family’s business, that speak open about their views and how much they hate democrats and wouldn’t do business with anyone who supports them so that may be where my lack of outgoingness comes from in regards to politics. I personally prefer to do business with companies who don’t take a political stance (what my family and our business does) you are more than welcome to talk politics in the shop but you won’t get a peep out of me or my family for either side. Obviously being in Texas I’m skewed and see mostly conservatives in my day to day life. I’m sure there’s a conservative in a left area that has the same experience as me but with the roles reversed
I think you should be able to represent whoever you are behind without fear of discourse. But it's sad that there are so many that on both sides that will heckle. Up here in Montana it's hard to not be maga. I'm right down the middle but even my own family considers me far left because I don't support maga. It's sad that this is the state of affairs these days. I hate the divide it all causes.
Probably one item on the agenda should’ve been discussed more, based on that this is geared towards archery and hunting would’ve been “Vote no on 127 “
I’m all in on regular compound bows, but a few crossbow reviews would be cool. From budget to high end models that you guys recommend. Not sure if your shop really gets involved with them, but it would be super helpful having some reviews coming from an honest and knowledgeable source. Looking forward to getting one in order to take youth or people that are new to hunting.
The funniest part of this fireside chat is listening to a true pessimist and a somewhat optimist talk politics... I mention No names, u guess who is who 😊
Katrina was a nightmare (from south Mississippi) The lack of coverage of the last storm should make you worry / question our governments decisions. As far as kamala saying she will do this or that, but hasn't done any of it in the past almost 4 years. The money to the illegals is just mind blowing
I did an Oregon trip from Europe and did almost 2200 miles inside Oregon and Waschington states, and to be true based on the declarations by banners looks like big city and rich people pur Harris banners and whole country side and small cities are Trump focused. Also inside i.e. Portland those not fancy houses and suburbs were Trump positive. For me the worst thing that happened is the hate and the country flag. I love the UA Freedom clothes, like being from Poland under Soviet Union the "Freedom" title really works on my. So ofr 5 days I was wearing the UA blue cap with the company logo being done with the flag inside of it. During that time I was multiple times called a Trum supporter and facist. The only thing that could initiate this was the cap and the flat on it. That felt sooooo strage, as I always loved how people loved the US flag and felt this is something that unites them and now it divides. Sad to watch what happens inside Portland when I was few months ago in Columbus Ohio and it felt like different America. Blue and Red states are to the core different now.
I knew that song but couldn't think of who it was then when u said System of a Down I instantly remember that sound. One of a handful of theirs I enjoyed. Always joked they were crackheads on meth but hypnotize and something else for the dual album were good
My friends, I have no issue with you talking politics although in this day and age I like being able to escape it on rare occasions. I have never been one of the shut up and dribble types. I also want to state up front that I stopped rooting for the red ties or blue ties a long time ago. Neither are the boogey man and neither are more of a hope than the other. Corporations and a handful of billionaires have been running the country for a long time now and both the blue and red ties continue to be accomplices. The area I completely agree with you is on freedom of speech being critical to our survival, but you only address one side of the story. It’s pretty crazy to see the liberals being the puritans on free speech after battling the conservatives on this for decades, but Ofcourse it suits their purposes for some fragile groups they are pandering to of late. Even today you have both sides playing at it… think don’t say gay bill in Florida… ofcourse if you root for the red ties this is just upholding family values or protecting our kids from brain washing. Then on the left you have cancel culture which is thankfully dying down but if you root for the blue ties it’s protecting against instigating violence or spread of misinformation
Look at disaster relief… Trump in Puerto Rico an American territory, Bush with Katrina… the other side will begin the propaganda machine to demonize whoever is in power during these terrible events because it’s easy. They are messy. Just like you know people who have been impacted and say the blue ties ain’t doin nothing about it, I or someone know people that say it is what it is, and they are helping the best they can given the circumstances. North Carolina is a swing state and Asheville is a blue tie stronghold… the idea that the Dems would be ignoring or incapable to help in an area like that because they spent all their relief budget helping the immigrants is so simplistic and the most basic of right wing propaganda that you are then peddling as fact. Again, im not supporting either of the parties - the Dems did the same thing with Katrina in Nola Puerto Rico, making it about the demographics being mostly non whites. I don't have the time to fully dig in to the economy discussion you got into. That’s the lowest hanging fruit both parties prey on people with, counting on their lack of understanding. In short, the economy is such massive complex machine with some many factors layering on others, that no change of administration would be able to have a significant impact within a few years. Sure the stock market sees bumps and valleys when Wall Street is bullish about one candidate vs the other, but that is a surface fluctuation that means little in the scheme of things. Both parties stopped caring about the national debt at this point which blows my mind. If you want a crash course just pull up some curves on job growth, wage growth, stock market, interest rates etc… then look at the graph lines starting in the 80s through today. There are plenty of sources out there on the internet that bump those lines up against timelines of administrations and other events that manipulated it in a meaningful way. In recent history look at the lines through the Obama admin going into the Trump admin. No change in trends… most indicators were on an upward tick that continued into trumps admin who Ofcourse will tout the positive numbers in a vacuum. Then Covid happened. We’ll never actually get to see trumps impact on economy unless he gets in again perhaps. Whether you like him or not he had very little impact outside of headlines, row v wade. If you are pro life and that is the cornerstone of your voting then yes Trump was incredibly effective. Outside of that, most of his headline grabbing accomplishments were executive order which means very little in the scheme of things. He wiped out Obama’s on day 1, Biden wiped out trumps on day 1. He did get his tax bill passed which will be hard to judge in the grand scheme of things because of Covid crashing in then him losing the next election. It’s impossible to say whether Trump was good for the economy because most of his presidency it was running off of what the Obama admin built for 8 years then Covid truncated it.
As far as your pondering of why we invest so much in oversees wars, that’s simple. War is our big business. It’s been our big business since the end of WWII and the biggest factor in our Industrial Revolution that cemented us as a THE world power. On the surface it looks like we are just blowing American resources oversees, but in fact it’s a massive business that fills our national coffers at home. By our I mean the few ultra wealthy that actually run everything. For all of this, I’m not asking anyone to take my word for it”, there is public data that is accessible if you care to invest the time to sift through it and learn about how it works. You’ll have to dig past the articles and data from the top search results that are dominated by CNN, Fox News etc… ignore what you find on those sites, it’s cherry picked spun up swill. As an avid outdoorsman that loves our country, I am forever between a rock and hard place with voting. A big issue for me that gets little political attention is conservation and protection of our national parks, beautiful lands and wildlife. Teddy Rosevelt built a masterpiece that both sides threaten in their own ways. In a nutshell, the modern far left is inclined to stifle hunting rights and proper wildlife management. The conservatives are inclined to drill, frack, develop and decimate it for economic gain. I am painting in very broad strokes and there are exceptions on both sides, but both pose a massive potential threat to future of one of the main things I hold dear about this country. At the center of it is special interest groups and the big corporations/ultra wealthy few being fueled by greed and the unquenchable thirst for power. The other issue I would love to see become a real cornerstone and investment for a party is education. The blue ties tout it and pretend to but never fully deliver. We need a full overhaul from top to bottom and fix the money making scheme forcing everyone onto the same costly university path. Looking at developed countries we are so grossly behind on the education front. It’s been corrupted by greed and ideological control. The Germans and Swiss have great systems that allow many more paths from an early age to channel people into areas they like and are naturally inclined towards. It’s normal and financially beneficial to go into trades or focus on specific skill areas in the white collar world. Education is also supported by government from elementary through higher education in most cases, and educators can make a great living doing what they love. We grossly underpay our educators, allow mob style loan sharking and private interests into our system, then make a college degree table stakes for most professions that truly don’t need a college degree… and we end up with a population willing to believe the red tie or blue tie is the only hope to save our country while the actual powers at be continue to separate themselves from us in wealth and resources methodically over and over.
There was the notion that Trump was different and not tied into the same dark money special interest groups when he ran the first time. I could kinda buy into but was always skeptical based on his history of scamming/stiffing the working class and manipulating financial/tax loopholes to stay wealthy. He’s not different in this way, so I’m not angrily pretending he is some kind of new level crook like the left wing has painted him. He’s always done the same as the rest of them, and that’s the problem. That’s not just business like the spin machine has somehow convinced folks. That is bad business that destroyed a lot of blue collar folks livelihood and shut down small businesses. Being from a blue collar family of builders I’ve admittedly held a bit of grudge since his Atlantic City days. Regardless, I held out some hope for his first presidency. Then it happened. I watched as he didn’t lift a single finger to address the root of the issue plaguing our politics, big corporations, special interests and the ultra wealthy few being boxed out. His draining of the swamp turned out to be just a political war against the establishment politicians and over bloated government agencies. Both of which I have no problem with, but it’s the equivalent of popping a pimple while your leg is rotting off from gang green. He proved that in action he is more of the same even though his words say otherwise. Ironically, for all of their corruption the blue ties are the only party in the last few decades to propose legislation that would remove dark money and special interest influence from our politics. They didn’t get far and I wonder if they knew they would not have a chance so brought them forward for appearance sake. Even if that wasn’t the case, they still take full advantage of the system so are just as complicit as the red ties that blocked it. As far as fair elections… my god, let’s not pretend it’s one side vs the other as far as righteousness. Go back through history and you’ll quickly see both sides play the same games and use their usual go to narratives whenever they are on the losing end. The Dems cry about gerrymandering when it doesn’t work out for them, even though they benefit from it in other areas. The Bush Jr election - recount in state where brother Jeb is governor that somehow turns up a large portion of votes in Bush’s favor. It’s like we are watching a football game and crying every time our team doesn't get a holding call when holding happens on every single play. Anyway, if I have a message in my long rambling novel it’s that we the people collectively need to stop falling for this obvious farce and stop peddling both sides propaganda for them. Follow the money, and ask yourself what they don’t want you looking at when both sides harness the 24 hour news cycle try to point your attention here or there. It’s hard to accept when you have been duped for so long and even passionately stumped for something, but if you are willing to invest some time reading about the history and underlying facts below the muck of the bought medias narratives you’ll see the trend of power/wealth/resource consolidation by a small handful of corporations and people while we get riled up about red ties and blue ties and work ourselves to the bone for their scraps.
TH-cam keeps trying to remove this comment… not sure why so I keep having to edit to see if it sticks. Hopefully you get to it if you care to read this far haha
Well TH-cam is intent on me not posting the last segment of this. But the short of it, stop falling for the red tie blue to charade and peddling their propaganda for them. At the end Tim says the most noteworthy comment of the whole podcast and MFJJ agrees “you are seeing what they want you to” yet somehow you are still going on and on about the red tie this election, looking through rose colored glasses. Dig a little a deeper, there’s a handful of ultra rich powerbrokers and corporations that are consolidating more and more wealth and resources while we squabble in the mud over red tie vs blue tie and say things like it’s “right vs wrong, freedom vs communism, good vs evil”. Snap out of it, and let we the people finally move past this bickering so we can organized and address the actual root. My only fear in our political system is that we will be stuck on level 1 falling for the same old show they put on… until it’s too late. The few at the top have been advancing through levels in plain sight watching and laughing while we all get up in arms and scream at each other when they toss us the most obvious of bait over and over and over
So you guys are burning softwoods pine in that over here on the East Coast. I've always been told not to dude's a chimney fires but I don't sweep my chimney out but once a year on my wood burner cuz I don't use it all the time but I just never used mine for fear of that. What's your outtake on that? Josh
31:20 I dont think this is fair. Freedom of speach is valued by both sides... they're just looking at it differently. Social media platforms are owned by private companies. They are not the public square. The government can't compel platforms to carry any message without violating the 1st Amendment. The consumers are then free to choose which platforms the participate in. That's a capitalist marketplace in action. Platforms that balance consumer demand, advertisers, and legal liabilities the best will be the ones that survive. Personally, I think messages should generally be allowed without censorship, but I think it is dangerous for the government to force that.
The issue is that the government was/is heavily involved in telling them what to suppress and no one has been held accountable for it. Private companies should be allowed to run their business as they see fit, but there should be no collusion between any political party or government agency with these private companies. That happened heavily in 2020, the election and COVID are the two biggest examples.
Current social media environment is nowhere near a capitalistic environment. Meta, Google, and Twitter controlled something like 88%(going off memory don’t quote me) and the government was controlling the narrative. Then TikTok blew up and the govt voted to force a sale or ban it. Elon is fighting the and thankfully Meta seems to be pushing back. But again this isn’t capitalism at all. It’s an oligarchy being heavily influenced by government.
I quite listening at 33:37 or so. I never thought I'd see the day where January 6th would occur. So, let me just say that I watch your work, including this podcast, for the "knowledge, self-help and reviews," not for your political opinions. I also watch and listen for information related to all things hunting. The archery information adds to my ability to do the things with my archery equipment and outdoor information is interesting to me. I don't tune in for political stuff. Not upset about the parts I haven't listened to, however, feel compelled to convey that your expertise in archery draws me and not your politics.
If Jan 6 is the worst of your concerns of what’s happened to our country over the last 4 years you’re just as delusional and mentally compromised as Joe Biden. You know the candidate that had to step down like a coward and be replaced commie style by his nitwit VP.
If you think Jan 6 is the worst thing that’s happened in this country over the last 4 years when we’ve started funding foreign wars to the tune of 100s of billions of dollars, have had record illegals cross our borders and can’t afford gas, groceries, homes along with record crime, you’re about as sharp as a bowling ball.
While I personally disagree with many of the positions you took, and I believe there were multiple factual inaccuracies . . . I REALLY APPRECIATE YOUR CONVERSATION!!!! We need to be able to talk about these issues in a civil and respectful manner. Well done boys . . . well done indeed!
Yeah I can always respect a respectful conversation but I disagreed with a large portion of their opinions and I can see the hypocrisies and false info. That’s not to say there’s no misinformation on the left cause there is but it seems like they didn’t want to acknowledge things Trump has actually done. For example they said Kamala has never stated a policy which she may avoid some she has made stances clear whereas in trumps recent interviews he will answer a question not even similar to what was asked and it’s just rambling, they also brought up Epstein and said clinton was on it and a bunch of democrats so they don’t want it out which they did declassify a lot of the documents which Trump is on and there’s photo/video evidence of Trump being friends with Epstein but they didn’t even mention that, the last thing I noticed that stuck out as really inaccurate was saying Kamala is lost without a teleprompter and again acting like Trump isn’t when the other day he stood on stage for a long time without saying a word and just swaying or the instance where it went off and he started talking about getting electrocuted by an electric boat rather than being in the water with the shark. We all have biases and there’s no way around it. Obviously my bias is different from theirs so I can see the “problems” in what their saying as facts or how things are but I’m sure there’s things I overlook because it’s the party i typically align with so I don’t notice it. That said I still respect them as they didn’t say anything absolutely terrible and they stayed respectful, probably won’t look to them for political or voting advice but still love the hunting and archery insights
I agree with Josh on our country I voted Democrat every year til 2016 and that ended, we should be scared, this is the most important presidency in history, and if y'all get grief for caring about your country forget them, they're ignorant or evil.
@@shelbyraines234 Every president election is important. But to say this is the most important one is history?? A bit hyperbolic. I mean, people are pretty free to be whoever they want to be without fear. Civil liberties are at an all time high in our countries history. It's still the #1 country foreigners come to(legally and illegally) to build a dream life. It's a pretty good country, I have a hard time believing one candidate or another is gonna completely ruin it in the next 4 years.
I agree Trump & Vance 2024 . What if Elon musk made bows I think it would be amazing just thinking out loud God bless you two, and who cares if your feet is in the camera some people are miserable with themselves so they want to pick at other people, y'all's podcast is great the way it is so keep on keeping on.
I never dropped a friend faster than the time I found out one of my coworkers voted for hilary. I barely even speak to him anymore ✌🏻and I never gave two shits about y’all’s feet. U do you
To be fair, putting your feet in front of the camera has nothing to do with being authentic... The fact is you are making a podcast that is filmed, so part of that is making it pleasing for viewers to watch. I do not need to see dirty socks front and center on my screen. You can be plenty authentic and still try to make a video more enjoyable for those you are making it for. I actually don't watch the video anymore, I just listen to it laying down with my eyes closed or while doing something. It actually started when I watched the podcast for the first time and was staring at dirty socks, lol. Do as you please, but I don't think you would be "selling out" or anything by putting your feet on the ground or on a footrest to the side, lol. Keep on keepin on.
“Sportsmen talk politics” Proceeds to spend over an hour talking about zero political topics relevant to sportsmen. More accurate would be “Business owners lament being taxed”.
@@kodyparker4696sure, my point is there are a plethora of topics immediately relevant to sportsmen and they covered none of them. Land access? Hunting rights? Conservation funding? How about the looming hunting ban vote this year in Colorado? This could have just as accurately be titled “two random dudes drinking energy drinks talk politics”. Their identity as sportsmen had nothing to do with what they talked about.
You guys are awesome but you really shouldn’t talk about politics. You say you want to hear both sides but they’re all liars. Look at their voting records, they’re not that different. You sound like a typical whiny boomer conservative. You whine about the government’s failed response to these natural disasters but how much of your own money have you donated to disaster relief? You whine about the attack on hunting rights, but have you written your congressmen? Have you joined a hunting rights organization? You whine about taxes but continue to support politicians that increase government spending, the spending is the tax. You want a freer country it starts at home, it’s not coming from a politician

@@JedlyMT not so much saying no one has confronted me, it’s more in Conversation it seems everyone shares same or close to my viewpoints.
great episode guys !!!!!! spot on!!!!!!!!
The pod is awesome guys!
Probably one item on the agenda should’ve been discussed more, based on that this is geared towards archery and hunting would’ve been “Vote no on 127 “
Dang the System of a down harmonies are on the money 😂
I’m all in on regular compound bows, but a few crossbow reviews would be cool. From budget to high end models that you guys recommend. Not sure if your shop really gets involved with them, but it would be super helpful having some reviews coming from an honest and knowledgeable source. Looking forward to getting one in order to take youth or people that are new to hunting.
Ive shot my best vagas round yesterday 300 23x
When we quit talking about our differences, bad things happen.
Sportsman need to vote!!!
The funniest part of this fireside chat is listening to a true pessimist and a somewhat optimist talk politics... I mention No names, u guess who is who 😊
Katrina was a nightmare (from south Mississippi)
The lack of coverage of the last storm should make you worry / question our governments decisions.
As far as kamala saying she will do this or that, but hasn't done any of it in the past almost 4 years.
The money to the illegals is just mind blowing
Is the PSE driven NXT better or worst then the Bear whitetail INT? about the same price point. I would love to see the INT tested.
14 days without power or cell service near Augusta ga. No help from fema at all.
I knew that song but couldn't think of who it was then when u said System of a Down I instantly remember that sound. One of a handful of theirs I enjoyed. Always joked they were crackheads on meth but hypnotize and something else for the dual album were good
Love the pod
The few at the top have been advancing through levels in plain sight watching and laughing while we all get up in arms and scream at each other when they toss us the most obvious of bait over and over and over
TDS is going to show up bigly in the comments. 😂
Lol right
No more in fighting between hunters stay ethical and go vote, combined our voice can be loud
Fantastic!
Great comments on a political hot topic. Just raise the camera and loose the feet.

HAHA for the record I posted that before Tim said something
Well I really liked this podcast…. See ya on your main channels.
Bright colored toe socks for the next pod 😂
@@derickprice8996 you mean the government during the Trump administration?
Current social media environment is nowhere near a capitalistic environment. Meta, Google, and Twitter controlled something like 88%(going off memory don’t quote me) and the government was controlling the narrative. Then TikTok blew up and the govt voted to force a sale or ban it.
Elon is fighting the and thankfully Meta seems to be pushing back.
But again this isn’t capitalism at all. It’s an oligarchy being heavily influenced by government.
Ponderosa pine for fire wood. Smells so good. Haha cedar is easier to work with
Amen to that!
So you know we can't hear the fan when it starts to spin up.
VOTE TRUMP AMERICA, THE WORLD IS LAUGHING AT YOU!
Are we voting for a turd or a crap sandwich? I gotta get this straight before i vote

$1000 a cord? That's it I'm moving to Washington and selling firewood.
I think you should have invited Alex Jones.
Not upset about the parts I haven't listened to, however, feel compelled to convey that your expertise in archery draws me and not your politics.
lol do you think anyone cares about what you think enough to be bothered by your words 😂😂😂 The next time you have a thought…. don’t
He's not alone @ebran54
Jan 6th was purposely overblown.. The security video shows security guards showing people around... Lol
TDS much?
Well said. I really enjoy Tim and Josh and I respect them for expreweing their opinions, but that segment was unfortunately extremely one-sided
I remember when we had to make our own camo
I came in perfect with mfjj badass dude
There’s a lot of people out there that are really into feet lol 😂you might be getting some people really excited haha 😂
8:47 who is paying 1000$ for a cord of wood???
They won’t chg the channel so they don’t know. It’s ridiculous!
Katrina and Bush, democratic area and minorities, do the math. Outrage away.
We are all very scared for our country. Future generations are fucked either way UNLESS we decide to take action…
U do you
She’s a disgusting human being
Trump all the way!!!
🤘🇨🇦🤘
You can’t beat the political rabbit hole enough. It’s terrifying where this country is headed.
Please, no bare feet or white socks lol.
Go trump!!!!
Trump 2024, make America great again
“Sportsmen talk politics”
Proceeds to spend over an hour talking about zero political topics relevant to sportsmen.
More accurate would be “Business owners lament being taxed”.
I could be wrong, but it isn’t titled “sportmen talk politics related to only sportsmen stuff”…
I’ll say it TRUMP 2024!!!!!!!!!!’
1 dingbat trying to express his feelings when nobody asked 😂😂 , tell us how you really feel..... Mr hoyt boy...
This was a nice break from the archery talk. It’s great that you value our freedom of speech.
