Your passion for capturing wildlife and nature images is evident. I share the similar interests in the PNW and lament the fact my day job prevents me from dawn or dusk excursions when wildlife activity is increased. Birds are easier to see in winter because they can't hide under tree cover, but the weather conditions can be brutal. Kudos to you for withstanding the elements for this video, great work.
Hi Todd. Fellow Nikon shooter from western CT. I just found your channel and glad I did. You are inspiring me to get me off my butt and get out shooting.
Thanks for sharing this information Todd. We were at the forest today and it was dead silent. We were wondering where have all the birds gone and your explanation makes a lot of sense.
Great video, I love winter photography. I recommend getting a pair of Vallerret photo gloves that you can stick your thumb and index finger out of when needed.
Greetings, Todd. Just discovered your channel. My primary subjects have been landscape and macro. But watching the photographers like yourself, and having a really keen interest in wildlife, I've decided to start learning more about shooting wildlife subjects. I shoot with a Z8 and just purchased a 180-600 zoom. I live in southern PA so not too far from where you are so I see many of the same species. Your tips are invaluable, especially for a novice wildlife shooter. Thanks and I'll be checking out your other videos.
Thanks for watching and for the kind words. That setup should serve you well for wildlife photography. Where in PA, I grew up about an hour north of Philadelphia!
