There is absolutely no reason to feature a single performer that much, not when the rest of the kids are so talented as well. They are meant to be a TEAM not a soloist with back up performers. They can do just as well without the gratuitous featuring and let everyone shine.
I’m sorry to say but you are spot on. The performer is talented there’s no doubt in that. But I find it ridiculous when organizations only push one member to the spot light. I mean he literally had like 5 solo tosses in the first two minutes of the show. I get the show was made around him but come on… you are telling me one of the other members couldn’t do a solo 6? He did DCI but I hate it when instructors take the easy way out instead of training and supporting the rest of the program. What are they going to do when he graduates?
Sometimes there is a star and you have to let them shine. Not everyone is at his level, and that is okay! He also should go and probably will after HS somewhere else that has performers of his level.
