This is a superb video, brilliant questions and very informed answers from Mark for an EV/battery/solar nerd like me. I love that Mark was delighted with the energy savings from regeneration in the stop-go traffic and normal bus operation in inner Sydney. The slower the average speed of the bus the greater the range (because of lower wind and rolling resistance), and I believe regen works particularly well for efficiency in the winding hilly suburbs in Wellington City here in NZ. I think I will try to get a similar conversation with someone with Marks's equivalent knowledge in Wellington as 20% of the fleet here is EV. I have a good set of questions many thanks!
Thanks for taking the time to comment Seager Mason! It's all Mark - it's wonderful to chat with someone so engaged by the energy transition and keen to implement it across a business. I was just in your beautiful city last week - saw plenty of EVs but didn't realise the buses were going electric too! People underestimate the regen possibilities with electric buses, and in cities like Wellington, it's a no brainer. Keep us informed of your video - looking forward to the interview when it comes!
Thanks EdgeofLight - aiming to make more public transport videos. Certainly got the impression that the bus operator is moving to an all-EV fleet which is encouraging.

Excellent video. I learnt so much.
This is a really great video about Electric Buses & knowing all about its power & how it is used in the depots.this is the future of Sydney.

Wait when you said 1 pedal driving they still have a break right?
Yes, they still have a break pedal which first increases regen braking & then adds air braking.
Saddly can't watch the video as it's streaming lines...
Try resetting your cache Gary? Are you also watching in-car?
