I love the birds. I also like that the pots are smooth and don’t have the ridge on top like most clay pots because that gives you a bigger smooth surface to transfer to.
I do like these pots too. Not having a lip makes it so much easier to apply.
A little late but just bought mine recently. I haven't used one yet. Waiting for the perfect ideas to come.
When the ideas come, you will love this transfer. So many pieces to use.

Oh, how I love those birds! I have Brocante but I haven't used it yet. I love the idea of the textures and bees etc on clay pots, but I'm worried as to how well they will hold up on the clay if the pots aren't sealed first, if you actually use them for plants. Clay is absorbant and definitely will absorb moisture, wicking it away from the soil. I think I would lightly seal the pots first to protect and prolong the transfers. I would probably seal them afterward too. It would break my heart to find them peeling away! I'm so glad I stumbled across your videos on Brocante......absolutely love how you used them here.
Definitely seal them if you are going to use them with live plants you water!!
I would only use artificial plants or flowers. The amount of work and the unique design, l would rather protect that than use plants that need watering. I guess you must make the decision Sharon.
Sharon, did you ever use the transfers on clay pots? How did it go? What did you seal them with?
Exactly what I was thinking, and I wondered why she didn't mention it. I liked the idea of decorating them with the IOD, but I prefer live plants.
I have Brocante and love it! I used the birds and put them in a frame. Now you gave me another idea !!

I recently ordered the IOD Brocante book but haven't yet received it. I want to use the birds on a tray, which I saw someone on You Tube do. It turned out so beautiful that I just had to order the book for myself.

If you plan on keeping them outside, or actually putting plants in that need water in. Make sure you seal the pot first so it doesn’t disturb the transfer over time. Mine were decorative, so I didn’t seal them.

I've seen crafters use lint rollers on each side of a round or rolly piece. Looks like it works well. My dollar tree doesn't have any right now tho im looking for some cheap.

Sorry to say, if you put a live plant in this pot, you will eventually have problems with your transfer as watering your plant keeps the clay wet. Not a problem for awhile but later you’ll lose your transfer. But, no problem with faux plants or using as a container! I would still seal.
Yes I know, thank you. I don’t pot real plants. Unfortunately my thumb isn’t green. We use them for decorating and storage.
I’m doing this for my mom. She actually lives in Ft Myers. She loves plants and loves clay pots. What can I use to seal the pots before doing transfer?

No. Because the transfer has to crack. So it had to be on top. But you can do your pots anyway you’d like!! 😃

Can the texture stamp go under the transfers? Not sure I like the texture on top of the transfers. Just curious.

Love the transfer and the stamps! Just got mine!! Can you topcoat over the IOD ink? Will the transfer or the ink still be fine when the clay pot gets wet inside??

Put clear coat on the inside and outside of pot before using the transfer and ink!
I would like to try these, do they have a small starter kit? I'm a beginner never stamped before.
This vintage stamp texture comes with four different stamps approximately 4 x 4 each and that’s the smallest that they have
The stamp does not looks right covering the birds
It does on some of them, but the bigger thicker Stamp, with the big crack does not, I agree. But the small crackle does. I was experimenting, but it doesn’t make sense for a pot to crack in the decoration on the pot not to crack, I respect your opinion though for sure!! 😃😃
Did you seal these pots?
I did not seal these pots because I’m not using them fir potting real plants I’m using the more for decorations. If I were going to use them outside and keep live plans and them definitely I would seal them.
