i picked up a white wii for $10 after our main one got bricked:(, it looked similar to that, as it was literally in a pile of dirt. used all accessories that we used with other wii, and gave it a good clean. and it’s mint, modded it and no bad blocks, everything works as intended! seller said untested, and i knew wii internals are built like tanks

Wow, I had thought there was a bigger problem on my hands when a different bt module didn't do the trick. The electronic contact cleaner just on the area of the mobo module interface and the chip itself was all I needed. Now I need to find out what happened during reassembly. The loading mechanism of the optical drive makes a grinding sound when it didn't before disassembly.
@@hudsonball4702 - I saw a crack in the small plastic "gear" type part of the load / eject mechanism. Ended up replacing optical drive and it's all good.
I definitely like watching this type of content. And its a nice insight into the innards of a Wii as well. Wiis in the UK are still popular so its nice to see you got a nice price on a fixable one 😅
You can tell the replacement plastic pieces were a bit yellowed and probably could have been retro brighted as well. They were new pieces but obviously had sat somewhere for a while.

As long as the LSI's are in good condition and the software is not corrupted, you can usually fix these. When the software/firmware has issues, it is junk...

I'm glad I'm not the only one who noticed this but I probably imagine that it come from a broken wii that some sort if yellowing. If it was me I would got the replacement parts whitened aswell and aswell got a replacement front face cover aswell. Personally I wouldn't of superglued the old face cover back together

Just curious because I have a few Wii consoles with the black video screen. How did he fix the black video? Didn't see any electronic checking or soldering. He wiped down everything from cover to screws so was surprised toward the end he didn't take care of the game disc issue where it seem maybe replacing the rubber band would resolve?

Nice transformation there! Whenever I come across an unwanted Wii I’ll take it online to the Wii Shop to see if it has any previously downloaded games attached to it because Wii games stay with the console not user unless it was transferred to Wii U.
You can't download anything from Wii shop either. The only way to have stuff from Wii shop is if it was downloaded prior to the shut down or through homebrew pirating methods
