ive been waiting for this podcast for years. seriously insane. hope yall can get kevin pearce on in the future. he has some insane stories and i would honestly love to hear first hand about the whole injury from his perspective.
You're the man brother! I worked for you (Danny) at the Frendly Gathering 3 years up in Vermont! Some of the greatest times of my life man, jamming to Twiddle's Dead Set around the pond and helping clean up all that trash after the event! Shout out to Joe and 802Gaetano, those guys were like you said Danny, the gems of that crew up there. Thanks for everything you do the community brother, and thank you guys at the bomb hole for this sick podcast. Keep up the great work boys!
My brothers and I had the awesome opportunity to take a picture with danny at the 2019 peacepark at boreal that moment has gone down as the coolest of all time
If I can make a fan recommendation for a guest..... Scotty Lago. But seriously, this is the best guys. I love the bomb hole. I watch them all. Love what you guys are doing. Grew up with Technine and I now ride Salomon boards sooo the fack that I seen Grenier and Stone making a podcast....legendary The stoke is real guys.
Halfpipe has just become unrelatable for your average snowboarder and therefore interest dies. Your average rider cannot take that to the hill. Slopestyle and Street stay strong because your average rider can ride a box, a rail and a kicker albeit not to comp standard but they can relate and aspire to it. For the same reason carving increased in popularity as everyone can have a go at laying a trench. Social media thrives on relatability. Loving the series, keeps getting stronger!
It’s funny to me to hear them talk about “back in the day”, being the early 2000’s! We weren’t allowed to ride the resorts when I got my first board(89) we were the outcasts.
I was working at this restaurant in downtown SLC and this long haired and bearded guy came in with his family. And without thinking, I told him he looks a lot like this snowboarder Danny Davis, and the whole table gave me a big grin, and it was then I realized it actually was him. If I would have noticed he had crutches and a wrapped up leg (it was summer, and I think he just had surgery), I would have realized it was him beforehand, but it made for a funny moment. Danny seems like a genuinely great dude.
I was right down the street sheading at the Knob (Pine Knob) right around the same time as Danny. . Learning how to slam on ice made progression crazy. Once you finally got to any pow we would be so willing to take slams lol.
Yes such a sick episode! You guys should really talk more about the riders setup, like i had never heard of tilting the bindings forward but it makes complete sense
I remember going to a burton demo and ripping all Danny’s Grateful Dead boards. at that point I knew the dead was a band but hadn’t listened to them at all. I liked gangster rap, bassnectar, classic country, and bluegrass. I rode a bunch of boards like the new nug and all Danny’s models. but when I brought the terrapin board back the burton guy asked if I liked the dead and I straight up go “nah man heavy metal isn’t really my thing”. I’ve never seen so many confused looking people, I even had to tell all the homies the story cause I was confused myself. A good friend gave me a crash course after he was done laughing at me. flash forward almost ten years and thanks to Danny the dead’s my favorite band and has helped me through some of the best and worst times.
Bombhole ought to put on event, limit spins to 720, limit flips (no dubs), and base the event purely off style and fun. Get three random judges from the parking lot , have them pick a winner who looks to not be trying, just riding. The person having the most fun is the person that is truly snowboarding
Reason I started boarding was because of watching Danny Davis on TH-cam, would be a dream to pull up next to him on the highway while he in his rig Derrick.
still waiting for that climax video :D the first board i ever bought was a climax. They used to sell direct on ebay for super cheap back in the late 90s, so its all my brokeass could afford. the board was awful, but the graphics were sweet!
Speaking of stereotyping. I got pulled over coming back from a snowboard trip in Colorado. The cop saw my board bag and my goggle tan insisted searching my car for weed. I just let him considering he was gonna do it one way or the other. Kind of funny the stereotypes are still in some people.
I can co-sign I saw Nima in tighter pants waayy early in the scene, cant remember what year, but i remember him wearing them before i saw anyone else, out here in the west coast.
Shut out to USASA, 📢📢📢📢📢It seems a bunch of OG dogs, started there. We started a usasa here in SDakota. DAKOTA Series. Epic quote from our kids. I'VE never hit a jump that big or fast. Me: hey have fun🤦♂️200Oish, Telluride 2years, Mammoth 2 years. The last mammoth, I knew heavy hitters were competing. Heck I threw a snowball at the Award ceremony, it flew and flew, over the large crowd, and hit the then 12 year old, shawn white, then a tiny red ripper. I'm a dog damn punk & I still feel like a dick for doing it. 😆 But I still laugh. Those national's are my favorite memories. My last nationals got 6th in boardcross, the last nationals for me. My twin @freedomtruper was a sicko on a sticko. I really miss coaching wee shredders. The events we held, fn ROCKED. unfortunately it was the peak of fun and progress parks here. We no longer have, events, no 1/2 pipe, no races and 1 dangerous unmaintained park. We are down to 1 resort. Today we zero snow, zero. Super dry woods. Hard to watch wasatch and N.west coast shredders. Trip goals.
Danny should be snowboarding's official ambassador of everything good the sport represents. Legend status for sure :-)
I agree!
Yeah Dan!
Yeah Danny ❤️❤️❤️
Hell yea!
Danny’s mark and Brock impressions got me cracked up 😂. We need more of this
Yes His impressions were all time!!!

Might have to make splitboarding cool since a lot of lifts might not be spinning
Danny is the GOAT!
How can you not like Danny Davis

Dude. Fuel tv. Can’t believe I turned it on one day and it was UFC. Twisted up as a pretzel
When he said “it’s gets sweaty. I’m a sweaty guy anyway”
I felt that.
It’s funny to me to hear them talk about “back in the day”, being the early 2000’s! We weren’t allowed to ride the resorts when I got my first board(89) we were the outcasts.

Thanks for this! Episode made even better by the fact that its distracting me from the power being out 😅
Glad it helped!
Always cool listening to Danny, backcountry insanity with Mark must be hellacious.
Yes such a sick episode! You guys should really talk more about the riders setup, like i had never heard of tilting the bindings forward but it makes complete sense
