This was absolutely phenomenal. I wish I could have been there to witness this myself. THIS...is steam at some of its finest. Thank you so much for this video. This is easily one of my all-time favorite videos.
Big Jim Video Productions, thumbs up unbeatable visual and audio quality...nine passenger cars seems the solo limit for R&N425 so I estimate about one million, seven hundred and fifty thousand pounds in tow...amazing!
i never seen the 425 go so fast on that hill 7:51
Well it had no diesel behind it to drag, and definitely less coaches than normal...so it was a bit easier to get up the hill.
Great Video. That audio from 1:45 to 4:06 is just fantastic.
Thanks!! It's why I chose that spot, I figured the audio might be among the best there...
7:45 the 425 is storming up the grade
It's storming just about anywhere anytime on that line... :D
Nice video! Seeing her blast out of Tamaqua Tunnel on the trip up to Jim Thorpe was quite a treat.
That must have been a very nice spot to see this come out of. And thanks!
LOVE the audio of 2102 at the end.
Thank you! It was from an 80's Railfan Weekend (I have video of it in my R&N playlist here) where my parents took video of 2102.
It Looks Like It Would Be Very Hard For 425 With All That Sliping On The Slippery Rails
Well looks like she'll be Ramblin on the Reading again!!!! I love the t1s. I own 5 bli models.........its kinda an addiction.
One day, hopefully not too long from now...

Has there been any movement on the restoration of the 2102 since the time of recording this video?
10:30 Let the '02 rise!

Starting at the 6:43 mark, in the back of the first coach someone gave you all the finger. 😂
Hmmm. :(

Does anyone know where i can find a website with information on the Redding 425 for excursions?
www.rbmnrr-passenger.com/ is your best bet - 425 isn't scheduled to run any more this year, but that's where future information will go.
Heh, I just realized I was on that train!
Did you enjoy the ride?
"Fewer" cars? 8 is quite a good consist of heavyweight cars!
I agree - but it's fewer than the normal consist with diesel assistance...
How in the HELL, did you manage to get footage of 2102 ?!?
The shop crew was nice enough to allow some people in the engine house after the trip to take a look...
Or do you mean the audio clip?
This big blue train reminds me of the polar express
