I'm going back to work at a local Five Guys after several years, and I'm really excited. I've been in the restaurant business a long time, but I am proud of every burger at Five Guys, and our guests seem to agree.
I was very disappointed after trying Five Guys yesterday- the cheese, put so much liquid into the sandwich that the bun got wrecked right away- they need bigeer buns that don't fall apart right away.

So far the best burger I ever had is a Five Guy's burger. They don't freeze any of their beef and everything is cooked to order. Everything is freshly made. A little pricey but you get what you pay for. Delicious!

The reason they only do their patties well done is because ground beef isn’t supposed to be cooked or grilled medium rare, rare, etc. It’s only supposed to be cooked well done because of the cut of meat.

Your video sounds like a Five Guys Burger commercial. I started cooking lessons at age seven. My first culinary mentor was a honors (cooking and baking) graduate of Le Cordon Bleu - Paris (France). I'm 77 years young. I've been making burgers for 65 years. I've also been making my buns from scratch for 65 years. There's a "Five Guys Burger" place in a strip mall shopping center that is within 5 minutes driving time from our house. We, the wife and I, have eaten there once -- we were not favorably impressed.
Likewise. Their burgers are average at best. There is a local place nearby me where they have a wood-fired grill. They blow Five Guys out of the water.
I've been in one in London a few days ago and it was ok. The one in King's Cross was packed. But yeah, it's quite expensive and "very american". Loved the burgers and fries.
Yeah I've actually never seen one here in the north of England. Not bothered though cause I get my burgers and fries at a local Asian take-out and it's delicious! Juicy meat, a fluffy bun and perfectly done toppings with spicy ketchup and awesome seasoned fries! :) I did go to an American restaurant once and tried this monster sized burger, and it was too sweet and greasy for my liking
In the U.K a large meal is about £15 which is way too pricey when you can buy a 6 fresh quarter pounders from the local supermarket for the same price.
watagump1 that’s what you pay for when it’s a quality burger. Hell even a McDonalds Big Mac combo is about 11-$12 cdn now. Pay a few more bucks for better quality and don’t eat out so much.
Matt Hoffman let these people eat McDonald’s lol. I like McDs when I need a quick bite. I take time out of my day to go to 5 guys. I don’t care if it’s more expensive it’s BETTER than McDs. Lol people got me heated saying McDs the best here lmao..
This is best burger place ever. There is one that is close by my work. I go there everyday for lunch and it’s so good. I don’t mind paying the extra money. When I go there they always know what I want.
Okay... so... I felt the need to address this... 0:13 "Focusing on what's important": Okay, so they won some awards. Cool deal. It's true that having a smaller menu that puts focus on fewer things can do them with better quality, than a restaurant that has a menu of several pages. That's a good reason for burgers and fries tasting good. The only problem is: Why do these burgers cost nearly $8 in my state? (No sales tax) 1:35 "15 different toppings": And here is the reason why the burgers are so expensive. You are paying for all 15 toppings, even though you'll probably only choose a few of them. You still paid for the (insert topping here) that you chose not to get. Feel ripped off now? If for example, you ordered a Famous Star with cheese from Carls' Jr and ask for no onions and tomato on it, you would still pay the same price instead of getting it cheaper because you paid for the "option" to have those toppings... even though you don't want those options. It's a crummy deal. Someone shouldn't have to pay for something they don't want.
One big problem... Ever throw a burger or steak on the grill without salt and pepper on it? Probably not, but they do. All the toppings are there just to make the flavorless pice of meat taste good.
tbh, i ate five guys once, and i didnt think it was so good.. it was expensive and just plain deacent burger. This was in england tho, not sure if it makes a big difference from england to the us

They blow Five Guys out of the water.
the best on the market. pure taste of burger no sauce manipulation !
I’m the only one around that watches this at 1:20 AM , I’m mouthwatering rn
My local one just closed down after 5 years, they're not doing well in the UK
I've been in one in London a few days ago and it was ok. The one in King's Cross was packed. But yeah, it's quite expensive and "very american". Loved the burgers and fries.
Yeah I've actually never seen one here in the north of England. Not bothered though cause I get my burgers and fries at a local Asian take-out and it's delicious! Juicy meat, a fluffy bun and perfectly done toppings with spicy ketchup and awesome seasoned fries! :) I did go to an American restaurant once and tried this monster sized burger, and it was too sweet and greasy for my liking
Lucky, I wish we could get rid of it here.
jlx011 The Covent Garden branch is near my work. It's awful. Always packed with tourists, chaos inside, and the fries are always burned.
In the U.K a large meal is about £15 which is way too pricey when you can buy a 6 fresh quarter pounders from the local supermarket for the same price.
I did two years at five guys and let me tell you the only good part of the job was coworkers and the regulars, everyone hated the job
compared to some sit-down restaurants I have worked for, I enjoyed my time at five guys
It Is Worth The Wait Especially If The Burger Is Fresh. (Nothing Is Frozen Including The Hamburger Patty)
Over $17 here for a combo.
Overpriced I’ll go to burger am I
watagump1 that’s what you pay for when it’s a quality burger.
Had 5 guys today with the cajin fries. Best burger ever.
5 guys is good but Whataburger is still amazing.
This is best burger place ever. There is one that is close by my work. I go there everyday for lunch and it’s so good. I don’t mind paying the extra money. When I go there they always know what I want.
"The stores have no freezers" , where does ice cream come from then?
The actual machines, maybe?
They have the ice cream in the Refrigerator, then when they put the milkshake mix in the Shake machine, the machine make it colder
Well your slow
Okay...
(No sales tax)
1:35 "15 different toppings": And here is the reason why the burgers are so expensive.
5 guys - hey give me everything you got on my burger.
Me -5 minutes later biggest best burger 🍔 ever
One big problem... Ever throw a burger or steak on the grill without salt and pepper on it? Probably not, but they do. All the toppings are there just to make the flavorless pice of meat taste good.
I get every topping except relish....its heaven
I've been with five guys on and off for about 8 years. Everything about this video is spot on.
Damn boy you gay
@@kaiokee your page is a joke 😂

Depents On The Cooks😤
I love Five Guys...I'm so happy they are near me lol.
5guys was great at first, but now their prices are insane. I used to go all the time; now, I haven't been in quite awhile.
Having worked at a Five Guys for 2 years this is all correct!
Five guys versus in and out we got both within a mile of each other...like it or not five guys wins!!!....
James Appel
Burger in a can....Mmmm Mmmm Good!!!...🤣🤣🤣
James Appel
I’ll check it out...🤙😎🤘
James Appel
Yeah that’s hilarious kind of like Sling Blade want six or eight cans of that potted meat!!!...
Don't forget, you can have your green peppers, jalapinos, or pickles grilled as well. I like grilled pickles on my burger.
They’re kind of just okay though...? Even their fries were meh.. not sure if it’s just the location I went to or not.
kimberly miller I agree totally, I thought the burger looked squashed and messy. Was expensive too
They are just OK in my city too, so, it's not just the location.
Yes, I've been to three different locations, and have been consistently unimpressed. soggy burger and fries not crispy.
it is soo filling omg the burger is thick
the fries are just wow
tbh, i ate five guys once, and i didnt think it was so good.. it was expensive and just plain deacent burger.
This was in england tho, not sure if it makes a big difference from england to the us
I think it was the cheese that i didnt like at all, it was some type of cheddar i think
@@kingzetsy how much did it cost you. I live in the north of England and I just stick to my local Asian take-out for the best burgers and fries I ever had. I typically get a spicy double chicken fillet burger with seasoned fries and it costs me £5 and it's delicious :)
I've tried American burgers and they're too sweet and greasy
@@caramelcupcake1275 i think it was around 15 £ for the burger and then u had to pay extra for fries and stuff, dont quote me cuz this is a long time ago and i camt remember exactly
@@kingzetsy no that's sounds legit cause the few times I had American burgers they cost £13 with fries and it wasn't even good. Total rip off
@@caramelcupcake1275 wtf why is it so expensive to get burgers in England?
Love Five Guys hamburgers and fries!
🤷 that's why I bring my five family members to five guys🤣
I’ve had both and still like In-n-Out better. Maybe it’s the Cali in me!
Americans eat 50 billion burgers a year! That’s like a burger every other day per person!
Or 5 per day for some people, and you can tell who they are.
Five guys is hands down my favorite burger joint. I have to drive nearly an hour to get to the closest one but it is well worth it. 👍
There is a local place nearby me where they have a wood-fired grill. They blow Five Guys out of the water.
I actually prefer their hotdogs
they are really good
Every five guy burger I've had, won't go there anymore, has been torched beyond belief. I asked the manager why, he said Co. Policy have to be well done. Which as a chef I understand. But well done and still juicy is not what they do. Torched is what they do.
When you live in a country with no five guys and in n out
*cri*
Same...the closest one to me is in italy and that's like a 7 hour trip
Same. Much cri.
There’s a million five guys near me. One being 15 minutes out.
I only order using the mobile or online, you can add extra for no cost. that's something people do not know.
Even In N Out do the same thing. You have to order over the counter though.
At 6.15 I LOVE what the guy does to the veg bacon.
